I have no doubt that inFamous is gonna be great but it cracks me up when people try to compare it to Crackdown graphically. No one mentions the fact that part of the reason it is not as detailed as games like GTA IV and inFamous is the fact that it has an amazing online co-op component that only Saints Row 2 has been able to do in an open world environment.dark10x said:Crackdown did not hold 30 fps at all times and neither does Infamous. It's a LOT more detailed than Crackdown, however, and looks better overall (though Crackdown has cleaner image quality).

i was one of the ones who used his account to grab the demo. i can assure you i didn't change the pwd though, and i didn't share it with anyone else.Kaako said:Some people will continue to be asshats no matter what. I say have a list of everyone you've shared that account with. Sure it won't really help, but it could be useful for future references.MvmntInGrn said:GAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Well my demo account has been tampered with, no more demo codes from me. Lasted longer than I expected to be honest.
EDIT: I liked that PSN name too, I was going to keep that as a sharing account.![]()

That style of mission in a game with as robust a climbing system as inFamous' sounds awesome - it's good to know that they've tailored missions to their engine's unique strengths.iamcool388 said:Just played for a few minutes earlier... Still very early on in the game... The mission where you have to use <description of the KIND of mission>on someone is fucking amazing. I guess you canstealth to spyon the ground, but I jumped from building to building... over railings and lamp posts and train tracks etc. So much fun!sneak behind them

Also thanks for your detailed thoughts back on page 7, they were a good read and much appreciated.
Sorry to hear about that.MvmntInGrn said:Don't worry I'm not going on a Gaf hunt. Not worth it.

AltogetherAndrews said:They are easily confused in the same way that Halo 3 and Rainbow Six Vegas are easily confused.
Ten-Song said:Also, on a somewhat related note, Prototype looks completely uninteresting to me.
Ten-Song said:Gruff heroes that suddenly get powers by events that cause a city to go into lockdown has more similarities than a space marine fighting aliens versus a group of commandos fighting generic terrorists in Vegas.
I don't think they're very similar myself, I just think that's a bad comparison.

TheChillyAcademic said:Having played inFAMOUS and not Prototype, I don't think I can fairly comment on how the game will turn out. I can say however that inFAMOUS looks to be a more open world game then Prototype, by that I mean Prototype seems to lack the exploration aspect. It looks to be more of an action game set in large environments.
AltogetherAndrews said:Not really. Not only are there no apparent similarities between the designs or motives of the characters beyond their gravely voices, the core gameplay is wildly and fundamentally different. The only thing they do have in common are super-human powers and unrestricted worlds, similar to how Halo and Rainbow Six both feature shooting of terrorists, intergalactic or not. But if it makes you feel better, you can replace Halo with Medal of Honor Airborne.
Ten-Song said:Well, what does it for me is the difference in tone. inFamous puts a lot of focus on playing out like a comic book, and it works out very well for it. Prototype's sense of "maturity" by gratuitous bloodshed kind of turns me off a bit. Not that I have a problem with blood, just so much that it seems the gigantic focus on it also showcases to me how there's not much too the game.
Musashi Wins! said:pfffffffffft.
But I mean, what the hell, the game's not even out yet. That's a brilliant analysis.

Jtrizzy said:Holy shit I just did the coolest thing. I was using the lightning attack while standing on top of a car. It blew up the car, but sent me straight up probably 150 feet in the air! Stand on the hood of a car and it works!
iamcool388 said:Just got the first upgrade for the... Think Resistance 1, only more badass :lolMegawatt Hammer
Oh snap... I wish we could start a second game from the beginning with all the powers we unlocked on our first playthrough... It would be insane to use upgraded powers against the weaker enemies in the beginning!

MvmntInGrn said:Was the demo really from the retail build? That video just seems... somehow different than the demo.
Jtrizzy said:The difference you are noticing is the black ink in the evil electricity in the IGN video. You don't see that in the demo, which leads me to believe the demo is an older build.
Yea the other videos are pretty awesome.Loudninja said:Check you the other vids, the game looks good.

iamcool388 said:Yup its that power... its upgrades are awesome!
Right now I am on top of a bus I have to protect while it is going from one place to another... Its pretty intense.
By which I mean i've died twice till now :lol
Damn its 4.14... been playing non-stop for more than 6 hours now :lol
Loudninja said:Cant wait to use that power,so I guess its like a rocket?By the way all these missions oyu posting about are they all side missions?![]()
Puck said:to be frank, i am not amused by seeing lots of page full of spoilers 2 weeks before the game is released in the official thread.
for the other big titles, whenever someone gets a release this early, they generally don't post every exciting bit of their journey in a thread where people are actually excited about the game and purposefully not reading spoilers.
iamcool388 said:Yup exactly... and the first upgrade lets you change direction of the rocket... just like Resistance... But in this case, you can fire off 4-5 of these, and then with a single command they will all redirect and wreak havoc on some poor enemy! :lol
Also, I havent done a single side mission yet. I think I have done about 29 missions so far, and am on my lastof the second island. I'm guessing the third island will be available after that. I'll start doing the side missions when I think I am close to finishing the game... Right now I am going with the main missions, but later on if my powers arent all upgraded I will do side missions to earn XP.substation
Also, the prison mission (of which we have seen some videos already) is fantastic... the platforming is brutal, it can be quite frustrating. At least it was for me... but then again, i'm a pretty terrible gamer, cuz i had trouble even though I am playing on easy!

Rice-Eater said:Got a question, will you still veer towards the evil side if you hurt people while trying to stop the bad guys? It looks almost unavoidable since some of the battles takes place in crowded streets and some of the citizens take part in the battle as you're trying to take out the baddies.

Click said:I still don't get how electricity can heal people.
Revive them if their heart has stopped due to a heart attack or something similar, sure.
Oh well, it's just a game and a superhero/villian game at that.
Concept: Play the role of hero or villain in a super-powered sandbox
Graphics: The city's color palette is a little bland, but contrasts nicely against the vibrant electrical effects.
Sound: Solid voice acting, although Cole's coarse whisper doesn't fit the character. The avant-garde industrial soundtrack isn't what you'd expect either, but fits perfectly.
Playability: Intuitive controls facilitate the city navigation and electrical combat.
Entertainment: Worth playing through twice to see how good and evil powers develop.
Replay Value: High
