Its explained in a dialogue why Cole cant use cars. Its at the same time as when its mentioned why he cant use guns, which we were discussing a while back.
Dont forget, Cole has had time to recover a bit... think how he might have used that recovery time? The whole game is really realistic... If you woke up one day and figured out you had electric powers, what would be one of the first things you would do?
<A vague, but not-so-difficult-to-guess hint>
Wouldnt you want to TEST your powers and try them out?
No replies since my last post? Wow. I guess there isnt much to talk about anyways until Wednesday... unless I start throwing out some REALLY big spoilers. :lol
The story just took a pretty good twist. Excited to see how it plays out... I'm glad that Sucker Punch took the same care with the story as they did with the gameplay.
Haha... In all honestly, I'm not having as much fun playing alone as I would if I knew everyone else was playing as well... Thats why release day on GAF is so much fun. You can always come here and share thoughts and observations.
Also... If you have vertigo, dont buy this game.
Seriously, IF YOU HAVE VERTIGO, DONT BUY THIS GAME. :lol :lol :lol
You'll get light headed and might faint.
<Describing what I am climbing>
I'm climbing the motherfucking trash tower... i'm only halfway up, and i already have the urge to jump to ground level with the thunder drop... The destruction would be insane, I might level half an island! :lol

I think I am one mission away from the end. I'm gonna do the side missions now, but if you just do the main missions, it should take you anywhere from 15-20 hours to do them all depending on which difficulty level you play.

Frankly i'm the wrong person to ask... You should ask TTP when he gets the game, he has an eye for graphics nit-pickery. I didnt find any issues with the demo graphically either. The retail version might have a slightly more stable framerate, but thats about it. And I doubt most people would care about the visuals after the first 10 minutes. The amount of chaos you can wreak on the world at large is absolutely mindblowing. You can go nuts.
<Why you wont worry about graphics>
When you are throwing grenades, redirecting rockets you launched and deflecting missiles while jumping from one electric wire to another trying to beat the clock and reach someplace to avoid horrible things from happening, graphics tend to take a backseat at that point.
:lol
Oh, and anyone remember that Beauty of Power trailer, where there is a slow-mo overkill of a reaper? A punch, a kick, then shockwave and finally a thunder drop? You can totally do stuff like that without slow-mo. Although a slow-mo and screenshot modes would have been very cool. But hey, you can snipe in slow-mo!
I thought the demo looked good as well, so to me any graphical upgrade would have been a bonus. I did notice in the IGN video review that Evil Cole's lightning looked "inky."

Thats the evil lightening... I'm playing as good cole the first time. Also, you'd want to do lots of side missions and good/bad missions early on to gain XP. It makes your job easier later on when the enemies have better weapons, and their count increases as well. Upgrading your "bread and butter" powers early on will be a good idea. I'll do it on my next playthrough.
Been to a press event yesterday and saw/play the game. Pretty neat imo, I loved it. Now time for to wait... Review version is coming monday morning only
Why is it so hard for game devs to get 5.1 sound mixing right? My setup sounds great during movies so don't tell me my setup is the problem. This and many other games always have the dialogue volume SO low and in this game the sound from the rear speakers drowns out the dialogue EVEN MORE. Also, I'm using the HDMI out for the audio and it's coming out as PCM to my Onkyo receiver.
Game devs: GET YOUR SOUND GAME UP
Also, the audio in the demo sounds RIDICULOUSLY compressed.
Yes, the demo suffers from some sound issues as the trade off for the amount of city you get to play in while maintaining the almost 1GB demo size.
I'm certain the retail version will have uncompressed audio and proper surround support, along with options to adjust voice / music / effects. Correct me if I'm wrong, iamcool :lol

Shit I started up inFAMOUS thinking I would answer this but I ended up playing for a couple hours and didnt remember... brb, starting it up again lol. :lol
Edit: My Logitech Z-5500 control panel says input: Optical, effect: DTS Digital. I'm not sure what that means (compressed or uncompressed.) It might be that I dont know how to get the best out of my surround sound system, its a possibility.
There are no options to change volume of music, sound effects, VA etc.
I have a request... because I got the game this early, it didnt come with the Uncharted 2 beta code.
If anyone has two beta codes (maybe you got one through qore as well as from the game when it releases,) could you please help me out? At least keep me in mind? :-(

Frame rate, aliasing and pop in are just as bad as in the demo. Sorry IGN guy but you got faulty eyes.
Continental Europe version DOES NOT HAVE ENGLISH LANGUAGE which is something that drives me totally crazy. I have the system set to English and game starts in French. So, to those that want to play the game in English and don't live in UK, I suggest buying it from play.com or whatever.
Because of this language crap, I'm not gonna do any videos for Gamersyde. No English, no video. This is a first for a Sony published game and I hope it's not going to happen with Uncharted 2 as well. I don't mind buying it from UK, but if there is DLC coming up for the MP mode I wont be able to purchase it from the UK store (much like COD4).
Edit: oh, and that out of bounds bullshit is still there. I "died" during the tutorial because of that. Nuff said.

All I did was the first 6 missions past the tutorial, with much limited powers compared to what you start with in the demo. So I can't really give it a score. Not to mention the embargo. But I can tell you I couldn't wait to switch off the PS3 to let my eyes (and ears) rest. I'm actually happy I don't have to do any videos for Blimblim.

Well, I have no problems with Demons Soul's graphics. And that's not Uncharted 2 level by any means. It's just that Sucker Punch totally forgot the basics of visuals. I was going to buy the game day 1 after the demo, despite the technical faults, but this language crap pushed it way down my priorities list. I know I can buy the UK version, but I don't want to support this shit with my money. You sure can have all languages on a Blu-Ray don't you? So no, fuck you SCEE. Thankfully I've got my Uncharted 2 code via Qore.
I was playing the game in Italian, my language (I don't know French so I switched the system OS to Italian upon realizing there was no English support). I hate localizations in general. No offense to languages.

Can you fucking read? I said "Frame rate, aliasing and pop in". It's THREE issues. I can cope with one, maybe two of those simultaneously, not all three of them.
Exactly. And what did you do about any game with the slightest hint of aliasing? If you hate every one as much as you hate inFamous then surely you can't have enjoyed many games this gen at all.
Anyway, quit feeding the troll, the fuck is relishing the attention.
