lol my bait worked, hope that our circlejerk is in full force for the Uncharted 2 beta :D

Hell yeah, after my exam on Friday I'll be chewing bubblegum and kicking (Spanish) ass in the beta.

Is it 147 shards on the first island including the one out in the water?

Yep, 147 shards.

Die Squirrel Die said:
Crap, I've got 143 with 3 I know of, including the water one.

1. Follow the coast all the way around and hammer L3.
2. Go to the park where the first mission was at, and check the buildings around it. I noticed the shards on the buildings around there are sometimes easy to miss. Also don't forget the shards that spawn on top of the statue.

I guess I should remove that image, many lurkers could be trying to input GAFE-CIRC-JERK thinking that's a valid key for Uncharted 2 beta.... :lol

Got 146 myself, I guess I need the
glide
ability to get the one out in the water (lord knows I've been trying). I don't know how many hours I've put in so far, but I'm still on my 1st playthrough/1st island. :lol

One more shard to get for this area, and one more stunt to do although I don't have the power yet. I love this game.

Stunt wise, the airborne melee thing was the hardest for me to get by far. Infact I only got it moments ago ¬_¬

Edit: I've been playing around in the first area so much I already have the AC/DC trophy.:lol Love going into the unlit areas and causing a ruckus.

This. It's where my final shard was! Super easy to let that area slip by.

In my first play thru I am playing as good. But I have played a few mission where I don't get the shards, because I made the "good" choices. Is there another way to get them or are they lost?

One thing that really annoys me is that the game can be so fucking stupid about where it spawns you after you die, like mindboggingly dumb. I was on the way to the shard that you need to glide to, riding the tracks, I'm way on the eastside of the 1st island, get hit by a train thrown in the water. They spawned me on 2nd island.

There's 350 collectible shards in the environment, and they are the only ones that count towards a trophy. Your energy meter will top out by 280 shards, though.

Oh is that how it works? 350 environmental plus a bunch of mission ones? That explains the wacky counting I could never figure out.

Hey all... Just a quick question before I buy the game: can the HUD be turned off? I'm playing on a new plasma and would like to minimize IR. Thanks in advance.

I havent done it, but I believe there's three settings for the HUD: Opacquie, Translucent, and Off.

Argh, I have 349 shards: 147 from the first island, 134 (one short) from the second island, and 68 from the last island. I've been over every square inch of the second island TWICE. I even used a wikicheats map with every shard shown... and then I realised that they only showed 134 for the second island, despite claiming that there were 135 :(

The problem seems to be shards that don't show up when you ping. These are the ones I kow about:
1. The one on the pier off the east coast of Neon (too far out to ping from shore)
2. The top of the prison (too high to ping from ground)
3. Top of the broken skyscraper at ground zero (too high to ping from ground)
4. On the WSW side of the park in the Historic District, on top of a concrete bowl sculpture thingy (just doesn't 'ping' for some reason).

Does anybody know of any others?

Is there any point in trying to get 100%? I got all shards, did all stunts, and upgraded all my powers on my Good run, and I'm still at 95%.

My copy of inFAMOUS finally arrived from Amazon. No Beta code tho :lol

Thanx in advance Lince.

Sorry to hear it. That's a shitty situation. Good luck sorting out.
they said they would replace it but its still a kick in the balls, at least the unchart6ed beta voucher was there

Also go to hell junior

No one discussed what I mentioned a couple pages ago, so I'll ask again:

At the very start of the game, the police helicopter shines a light on you and sets up your controls. Then, it switches it's attention to someone standing in one of the destroyed parking garages as the player is shown a car falling off and exploding.
Could that be Kessler??

I thought it was either
Kessler or John.

The arrow just points to the rank you're currently at (Guardian/Champion/Hero etc.), the white fill is how far you are through that rank.

I'm almost at the end of the Warren now and the story is really starting to get interesting.

I did about 5-6 more "good" choices in missions since I posted last, and it looks like the meter has filled in with maybe one more pixel of white.

Does it just fill super slow? It seemed like after about 5 "good missions", I got to "champion". I've since done 4 specific "good" side missions, and chosen the "good" path on about 12 side missions, and the white part of the second tier of the meter is about 1/6th full and has been that way for a long time...

If you just keep doing good things you will get to Hero by the end of the game.

Woooooooooooow at the Ending.
I WANTZ MAH INFAMOZ 2 NAO !!!1!!1!

The bar doesn't seem to fill in consistantly on the 2nd section for both the good and bad sides. There were times when I thought it wasn't budging at all, then it'd suddenly fill in quite rapidly.

I'm missing 1 fucking blast shard.

Anyone found an easy way for the Right Back At Ya stunt? I gave to blast a grenade back at someone and have it kill them. It does not seem very easy to do.

aussie release date tomorrow.

should be fantastic. :)

2 things I'd like to share

Alden fight (2nd boss):
I was fighting him and when he started throwing shit I accidentally backed off the back of the bridge I was standing on, only to hang from the ledge. He couldn't hit me from there and I mindlessly just shot away at him
:lol

Good place to grind for exp towards the end of the game
I didn't have enough exp to get all the Hero upgrades, but I found a story mission on the 3rd island with a good way to get quick exp. It's mission #35 or so, the mission where you get your final power,
Lightning Storm. On the 3rd generator, just use your new power on every enemy until the generator's charge hits 75%. There should be 1 more wave, kill a bunch but not all of them, then either let yourself die or step out of bounds. It'll start you at the beginning of that generator, repeat the process. You should be able to get ~800 exp everytime you repeat this, and each cycle only takes 2 minutes or so. I was able to upgrade all my powers in little time this way.

I have a question, is there a new game+ to the game?

When i restart can i do it with full power mode?

After you beat the game, you get dropped back into the world with all your powers so you can get shards and stuff, but you can't restart the game from the beginning with all your powers and do all the missions again. Bummer, but multiple playthroughs are fun since you can do one as a Hero and another being Infamous.

Completed my Hard Hero run last night just as the U2 beta went live. Excellent game, excellent ending, definately looking forward to more of Sucker Punch's games in the future.

I know this has been answered a hundred times but im lazy.

1.For the shard out in the water how the fu#$ do I get that do I need the hover ability?
2.For the airborne stunt where I melee a guy falling from the sky is my best bet to shockwave them in the air and try and run where they are falling? Its damn hard.

Yes and yes.

The second is easier to do on a hero runthrough because of the float ability that unlocks on the shockwave, IIRC.

Awesome thanks for the help. One last question If I leave the first Island am I ever able to go back to it? I ask because I am on the mission that sends me to the second Island and I still don't have the hover ability.

Everyone looking for blast shards...

You do know you can click L3 and a blue icon will appear where there is a shard if you're close to one, right? I spent like an hour or so last night just running around clicking L3 and getting an assload of shards. :D
