ok ...does Sony Pictures have any blockbuster movies this month/summer besides Angels & Demons ? they should try to put the trailers on some super heroes or sci-fi movies .

exactly, I'm paying half-price or less since I've been buying the games from online UK retailers, they can't stop me with their latest bullshit though since in my case English isn't a language barrier (gotta love my self-esteem)

Wtf Sony. Seems like this won't affect me, but this better not become a trend. Playing Uncharted 2 in anything but the original language would suck.

I hope that's wrong. I want to play the game in English.

Would be really weird because so far Sony put all Languages on one disc. A great test would be to take the US version and try if you can play it in German or some other #2 Territory.

If anything, this will promote imports. I wont buy the italian version for sure. UK version from Play.com all the way.

They forced GG to make their logo in KZ2 unskippable.
And now they are splitting languages on discs.

I'm not too pissed for inFamous and that's a solo game. But for games which are probably going to be expanded with DLC (see Uncharted 2 MP mode) it's gonna be bad. Usually with games with split languages DLC purchased from your local PS Store doesn't work with a SKU bought elsewhere. I was never able to purchase COD4 new maps cos I got the UK disc and they don't work with it. Buy it from the UK Store you say? Well, it doesn't accept Italian CC.

Isn't it actually even more stupid to split the langauges? I mean that way they have to press 3 different discs.

I'm gonna play it save and order from Play. That way I save a few bucks and also get the Uncharted 2 Beta code.
 
So, I pre-ordered from Gamestop the other night, so I could get the demo (and the Uncharted demo). I asked the guy like 5 times about the demo coming with the pre-order, and he ensured me that it did. He hands me a redemption code, and says, this is for the demo. I get home, enter the code, and it's not for the demo :/ It's for a crappy new power. Fuck you Gamestop!
 
I have a couple of questions for those of you with the game already. How does the game handle the Crackdown-style collectibles? How many and what types of collectibles are there? Does it keep track of how many you've collected per island, or is it just an overall number?

I'm mildly obsessive about collecting things in these open world games, so I just want to know what to expect.

U2 beta comes with every copy of the game. No retail/pre-order exclusivity crap involved.

Happened here too. W/e, demo is out on Thursday anyway so I'm going to dive into the game without spoiling it for me.

Best Buy and Gamecrazy have an exclusive on the early demo, Gamespot has the weapon code. Gamespots did get some codes, but it seems like the managers hoarded most of em.

They are giving out the codes now?
 
I can picture it now, I'll GS for the code they will say they have it, I'll go there after work and be told either they ran out of them or they cannot give them out until the game is released. THEN on the day the game is released they will tell me that they ran out of codes or never got them in.

It clearly says "Downloadable Superpower" in bolded text above the code section, top of the paper. They need to issue reading tests at that store.

Same here. English has the better voice overs anyway. But at least I would like to have an option to show german subtitles or even try the german sync...sometimes it's good. You never know.

Bad move, Sony. :( It's so fucking stupid with this huuuuuuuuuuuuuge BD and they split the languages...

details are still scarce about europe's u2 beta codes. so far only play.com, amazon uk and hmv seem to be offering the beta codes.
there's still no official confirmation if the codes are gonna be in every retail copy from the first batch (i think).
so that kinda sucks, i really want the u2 beta code but that infamous special edition is awesome, can't pass on that one.
i'm still hoping though that EVERY copy will have a beta code :D

Too bad they only have stores in 5 states.

I don't think they give a fuck about breaking street dates and publishers are retarded for always delivering their games to them first for some odd reason.

Oh well, I can wait an extra week or two to play this game...

hmmm mind telling me what city and if it was on the shelves or if you had to ask for it? I was in the Naperville IL store and they didnt have it out, I didn't bother asking as they usually dont give me it anyways even if I call ahead and ask if they have it and its on sale (Killzone 2).

Just checked. Gamestation.co.uk also got the Beta Codes which means if anyone is interested in the LE and Beta code you can get it there for 45 pounds.

May I suggest Block Buster: I got KZ2 several days early there. They had copies, so the guy let me rent it, and gave my the box because I told him was going to keep it. If I didn't wan t my gigawatt power, I would try that again/

I got KZ2 a day early at Blockbuster too.
But certain Meijers were selling KZ2 almost an entire week before the launch date.
Now they're doing the same with inFAMOUS...
