inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

I just played the demo, I thought it was quite good even though I'm not really a big fan of sandbox games. A bit repetitive maybe, the same enemies and missions over and over at least in the demo, but still good fun.

They still didn't give any wrong information. It just sounds like you are better at the game than he is. Still stands that a 7 is good and from reading the text he liked the game, the first and last third a lot apparently.
This is what jim(runs g-a) said about eg's review.
Of course this wouldn't be the first time that eg didn't play the game all the way through before reviewing it but oh well at least they gave my gotc gundam dynasty warriors 2 an 8.

Anyway, enough about this whole eg review. Let's talk about prototype!! I mean infamous!!

I am crap at Shadow of the Colossus, always have been and probably always will be. Doesnt stop me from acknowledging how amazing that game is. I was pretty terrible at Valkyria Chronicles as well. Bottom line is you can be bad at a game, but that is not the game's fault. Just because the reviewer doesnt know how to use ammo well, or that his health can be brought back, doesnt mean the game is not allowing him to do so.

Oh man... I restrained myself the first time, but this is the second time you've said that, i'm getting tempted to start quoting passages from that review again. Naah... ur good people I know. Lets call it quits and just enjoy the game. :D

I haven't played through the whole thing, but I've seen my fair share of deaths. That said, it does an excellent job with autosaving, and most battles that give you a little trouble at first are usually manageable if you're a little more cunning in your approach. So, it's not a cakewalk, but never really gets so hard that you're frustrated. At least, this has been my experience so far. I'm playing on normal.

When you die, o you keep the experience you gained from before? Hope so because that's how I grind baby(I hate games that steal my exp when I die :( )

I think its because everyone feels they have good writers so theyre worth defending. The thing is, everyone respects them for not falling into the hype and scoring everything high just because its AAA.

I think the grades I posted say otherwise.

Might be old, but there are two new(?) Infamous videos on the PS store dealing with the tech and sound design, which are pretty entertaining.

So I download the dmeo and get this automatically?

Does that mean I have to download the demo from the US Store again?

Do you have to go into the demo once to unlock it? Does it work if it's the HK/early one?

I'm downloading again to make sure, my early demo does not have the costume.

I played the demo. I AM SOLD!

Platforming + electrical superpowers shooting + sandbox = Win.

exactly... who cares what any website gave to the game, when you have real, awesome demo to check on your own.

anyone figured out how to get the home costume?
things to try:
-beat demo on hard
-collect all blue things(21)
-wait till Sony emails you(due to you dl demo)

Not sure how else to get it.

Does anyone know if you can decide to not use the blades, or are they always on?

Yep, stay away from that button combonation. :O

No really I don't know. (I don't see them unbalancing anything anyway).

Wished I had the game now.
WTH? They gave you the code? My GS said you get the code when you pick up the game. I assumed they wanted to stop people from getting preorder bonuses but not the game.

I didn't get the code either. I'm assuming they will give them out when you pick the game up.

If not I'll flip.

holy shit at the demo..... sucker punch really delivered, don't need another game, don't need another game, backlog is huge, but damn..... that was awesome

Fantastic demo. I prepaid for this today at EB, sucks since they have it in stock but now I gotta wait till Tuesday. :P Had I known it was shipped already I wouldn't have pre-ordered it and tried to find a retailer breaking the release date this weekend.

Man I didn't think this game would be so hard...I hate when you don't see or know what's shooting at you because they are a mile away and can't see them,or you see a little red dot, that could be anywhere vertically,on top of buildings or on the street, you don't know, but they never miss with sniper machine guns...looks awesome, physics are great but I hate the ennemies.Pass.

It's a lot easier if you pay close attention to the minimap and start taking out the enemies one or two at a time. I had a lot of trouble at first because I kept waiting for the train to stop to get off and by then I'd have enemies I couldn't see shooting at me from every side leading to nearly inevitable death. Once I see one group I jumped off and started from there, you can more easily see the enemies (and you can tell the roofs that have them, look for the TVs and other signs) and only deal with one or two random guys shooting at you while you fight someone else. It gets a lot easier.

The trucks messed me up a few times, I kept stubbornly trying to attack them head on from the ground. Finally just jumped up on the roof and easily toasted them both and grenaded the hell out of the group that runs up. Incredibly easy after dying like a chump 5 times. :lol

Just played the demo. Awesome indeed. The game controls really well.

My 2 complaints:

1) Technically feels unpolished. Pop-in is forgivable, but the framerate often takes a huge nosedive with a lot of effects on screen. Even weirder is when it jumps up to 60fps in certain locations.
2) Make it so circle does not make you grab on to anything while you're holding it. I find it so hard to drop from something because right after I drop, I just grab on automatically a few feet down.

I hope they implement this. Its the only thing keeping the controls from perfection IMO.

All this time I have had the demo and I haven't really tried to get the blast shard.

That alone is really very fun. :D

Getting Blast Shards in the demo has been my new podcast listening game these last few weeks.

I got the code. Pre-ordered late last week. I was told it was for early demo access though :/ I was pissed when I entered the code, only for it tell me the content wasn't available. Grrrr

I'm really disliking some of the animation work in the cutscenes, particularly in the sewer section when you meet the black guy. Dear god I haven't seen animation that rigid since.. Tomb Raider 1. :lol

Fortunately, most of the game isn't like this, though.
