inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

I've got 16 stunts done now. I just need help on the last 5. They are:

1. Air Sticky Bomb - Kill an airborne enemy by sticking a grenade to them.
2. Whack A Mole - Kill a Conduit with the Thunder Drop move.
3. Suspended Sentence - Kill an airborne enemy with the Thunderstorm move.
4. Up Close And Personal - Kill 3 Enemies back to back with just the melee. Don't fire in-between.
5. Have A Nice Fall - Kill 3 enemies at once by making them fall from a high place.

I heard 5 is good on a Dark Water mission, so I'll do that soon. I don't have Thunderstorm yet so 3 isn't good.I'm guessing that's the last power you got in the demo, but I want to do all of the other 4 before moving on with the game(just got to Secrets Revealed story mission).

So, question is...where are the best places/side missions for Whack a Mole, up close and personal, and Air sticky bomb? And what are some tips for the ones I'm missing.

Also, I've taken down 3 reapers with just melee and not firing in between, but it has never given me the stunt. Do I have to weaken them all beforehand, and then kill all 3 in one punch, or am I supposed to kill them all with the Melee Finisher stunt? Also, is there a time limit to how far apart the melee kills have to be? because I can kill 2 pretty quickly, but the third reaper always runs away. It's very annoying. This is why I never go after plats, but I figure I should have a good plat with all the shitty ones I'm bound to get one day. Thanks in advance.

For people who have beaten the game, how long is the main story? Short enough to beat in a rental, or is it really 25-30 hours like some reviews suggest?

about the ending:
I wonder if the super powerful guy in the future is actually John. It hasn't been explained what happened to John after he got sucked into the ray sphere.
The dead drops were talking about him having some sort of telekinesis power. Unless I'm mistaken I think it could be John.

Depends on how you play it. I rushed through the first time doing only the story missions and a little shard hunting. I finished it in around 10 hours. I'm going through a second time and have barely gotten to the second island and I'm at the 10 hour mark again. I'm doing every side mission and collecting a lot but not all the shards.

Yeah I thought about that too.
I thought of the possibility of it being Alden too, since he didn't actually die.. well as far as we know. The bad guy in the future kinda looked like another Cole. Time paradox?!

That mission pissed me off too.
Missiles coming from everywhere!!

Argh, fucking stunts. These two are really causing me problems:

Right Back At Ya - Use the Shockwave move to make enemy kill themselves with a grenade or rocket.
Air Sticky Bomb - Kill an airborne enemy by sticking a grenade to them.

Air Sticky Bomb is easy - use shockwave to life a dude into the air, then aim slightly above the enemy and spam grenades until one hits. Should only take you a half-dozen tries.

Right Back At Ya - this is my demon stunt - the BEST place for it is during a later mission in the Warren (2nd last mission, a very high place) where you will be BESIEGED by grenadiers with grenade launchers who pummel you with grenades. Just keep trying at this point, repelall the grenades and eventually you will get it.

1. Shockwave an enemy towards a wall and grenade him in the air. Make sure you're a few feet back.
2. Single out a Conduit and get near a building, climb and spam thunder drop until he's dead.
3. Shockwave a crowd of enemy upclose and unleash hell.
4. This one is pretty simple, kick around those trash spider things since it comes in 3-5 pack groups or melee some gangs.
5. Darkwater side mission that's the only answer I got unless you can strike it lucky and find 3 enemies on the same roof. If so all that is left is bait.

Thanks for all the help. the problem I've had with the damn spiders is that I'll hit two and then the third runs away and by the time I get to it, the damn thing won't give me the melee kill.

Near the river there's like 5 of them. That's probably where I did mines. I most half of my stunts without noticing :lol

no, i don't think you have to do a stunt only when the pause menu tells you to in order for it to count. I can't imagine getting up to 15 stunts completed if this were the case.

So is there any way to get decent XP after beating all the missions? Accidentally saved over the file I wanted to load and now all I have is my Aftermath save :(

Just picked the game up today. Really really fun game. PS3 needed a game like this. Any clue what kind of numbers SP is expecting from this?

numbers of sales?

I dunno, probably not as high as it deserves that's for sure

but sucker punch is a small studio (50-60 people), so for the game to be a 'success' it doesn't really need to have huge sales.

i'd be happy if it ever reached 500k LTD in the US.

I'm kind of curious to see how the marketing push + good demo impressions + uncharted mp beta does for its sales. I'd be surprised to see it sell over 150k first month to be honest.

Just finished my second runthrough; my evil one :D
The last battle was just as epic as it was the first time!

Oh and was I the only one who thought the Reaper Conduits were the coolest ones?

Uhh really hope it does higher than 150k even if it is only up for a couple days of sales.

Good to hear that it doesn't need to sell millions to be considered a success. Didn't know that SP was still such a small company.

Hopefully the beta invite will give the game a little push....if the game sells poorly and it includes the beta invite not really sure what to say. Just kind of sick of seeing games "bomb" on the PS3....especially games that deserve to sell well.

OT, but it would be interesting to see if this gen ends up having the most titles that were rated well fail. There have been so many already (on all systems) it would be hard to believe past gens have had more.

Well, here's the deal: what do you define as 'bomb'?

Not selling 6+ million units like Gears or Halo? Or merely not making a profit on the development costs?

Because when people talk about PS3 games 'bombing', they really aren't; Resistance 2 has sold over 700k in the US and that's from a studio that pushes out yearly games -- LittleBigPlanet has sold over 700k in the US and that's from a studio with a little over 20 people -- Killzone 2 has sold over 700k by now and has probably surpassed 1.5 million WW, which means shipment numbers are even higher --- all of these games are profitable for Sony. Have they materialized into a 'megahit'? No, but they clearly didn't 'bomb', and I don't expect InFamous to bomb -- I wouldn't be surprised if it was Sucker Punch's best selling title ever, as I don't think the Sly Cooper series was known for its huge sales.

The 'megahit' sales will come in due time once Sony is able to lower the PS3's price and expand their world wide userbase.

I don't mean megahit, or expect those types of numbers, but I hope they at least sell enough to recoup their development costs, and hopefully they sell well enough to warrant a sequel.

Hopefully you are right with what you said...would have thought that RZ2 needed numbers a lot higher than 700k.

Same with KZ2's 1.5ww, and LBP 700k.

Stunt 20 of 21: Right Back At Ya

I am not going to get this. The final island is completely cleared and the Warren is 80%.
i must be damn lucky then. ive gotten that at least 3-4 times just by playing regularly.

"Get off my cloud" is taking me forever to earn. I took 100% of the Neon, most of the Warren, and just started on the Historic district. Not enough guys on roofs anymore :(

Only two sandbox games I've ever finished the main story in, Crackdown and now this. Going through it a 2nd time now, which is impressive considering how much I don't usually like sandbox games.

Damn Cole's ex is a bitch.

Yeah, she really annoyed the fuck out of me, way more than Zeke even, and you don't talk to her all that much. And.. if you finished the game:

I was so happy that bitch died when I was selfish and went for that single person on my evil run through. Seriously, it actually felt good. It was actually kinda shocking to get rope a doped like that though, good job Sucker Punch

That is because they all suck besides Crackdown and this.

Yeah, Im in the same boat as you. Cant enjoy serious-tone sandbox games like GTA, or even over the top ones like Saints Row/Mercenaries/Just Cause.

Crackdown was amazing good fun, just insane enough and compelling enough to keep at it. It's basically a platformer crossed with a superhero game set in a big city. Same as infamous (although Ive only played the infamous demo, its not out here yet).

I hope infamous can end up being as good to play long-term as crackdown is. I still get flashbacks from hunting down the orbs (and THAT sound).

Im off to play the infamous demo again ....

how the FUCK do you beat Terrorized Streets? the mission where you have to destroy like 5 armoured buses? efffffffff

This is where i just got to and turned it off. Do you have to thunderdrop off of the moon? Rofl, only thing I can think of :lol

So I got to the part where you
Have to choose between saving Trish or all the Doctors hanging from the building

I chose Trish, and Damnit! it was just some random girl!, so I reloaded my save and did it the other way and it turned out Trish was the girl in the other building this time!

Fuck you Sucker Punch :lol

Once you land on the bus, there is a generator on the top that you have to overload.

Sucker Punch sure got you there :lol
Since I hated Trish I went for the 5 doctors.

WTH, I just finished the mission on the 2nd island where you need to connect the bridge to the 1st island and for no reason they gave me bad karma.

I think this may be my fav new IP this gen, although that could sway again after I play Uncharted 2.

One thing that's stressing me. I've done like 3 missions in the historic district, I think there are 2 territories of the Warren I haven't completed yet those missions do not show up. Do these show up at a later time?

And yeah...Fuck that dude on the TV.......I really wanna get him alone in a room.

Side Missions depends on the main missions you completed. If there is none you probably have to complete a main that is a requirement to those side missions.

If you're talking about the good/bad, the mission temp disappear when they are fighting.

they must have entered the wrong validation date. seems no one can download the beta yet...

Because it starts next week! The amazon date is wrong, besides amazon is not the one to tell us when this code expires, it's sonys code.

Sweet, Only have 1 stunt left now :). Working on the Casey Jones trophy and the stick 50 people trophy now.

3. Suspended Sentence - Kill an airborne enemy with the Thunderstorm move. that's the stunt :) just as planned.

Anyone have some suggestions on the Casey Jones one though? I was working on it for about 20 minutes, and I only got one freakin kill in the Neon District while riding on top of the train.ugh, it's going to take forever.

FINALLY, got all shards, dead drops and stunts. Feel like a manly man now.

Alright, this is my own interpolation of the # of shards on each island:

  • Island 1: 147 shards
  • Island 2: 135 shards
  • Island 3: 68 shards

I first got 145 shards on island 1 before moving on, but I was stumped to see I didn't get them all. I hope the above distribution is correct.

Finished it in 3 days (all main + side missions) as infamous and what should I say, the game is fantastic. The resemblance to Crackdown helps and the powers really grew on me. The storyline was ok with a big finish at the end.
