inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

Ok, there's still something I don't get about the difficulty. I thought it was on hard but I beat it and didn't get the trophy, how do I even know what it's on. It doesn't say on my save, and do I need to so anything to stop it from changing without me knowing. Shame theres no actaul setting for it :/

I got a few PM's about the extra Uncharted beta code that I have, so contest time. :D

First one to find the Jesus mural and take a picture of it gets either an Uncharted 2 beta code or a Gigawatt Blades code, your choice. :lol

You can choose difficulty in Options.

It would notify you if it increased the difficulty. Also, just start playing in Aftermath, go to options and see what it says for difficulty.

Well it says medium so I guess not. I was going to bump it up for my evil run anyways. I just thought about it though, I'm going to have to collect all these shards again or I will be under powered.

I only collected enough to bump me up maybe 2 or 3 notches (I didn't go out of my way at all) and it was enough to get through it on hard as evil. I was also missing a good amount of upgrades.

I really hope they release the DRM-free OST on the PlayStation Store.

After a problem with my bank stealing money I've been delaying switching to a credit union or any other service that includes a credit card, leaving me out of the iTunes purchase window. Grrrr.

I want this soundtrack so badly! Do they sell "iTunes points" or something at like... the Apple store?

Woah my god the first mission in the historic district......I didn't think it was possible for this game to get more intense...This shit is just insane....

only have 2 gripes really with this game:

-in addition to pressing O to drop down from whatever you're hanging on, i'd like to have a HOLD O to continue to drop (so you dont grab anything as long as you hold O). kinda annoying if you're hanging at the top of a building, need to get midway down, but you grab on everything with each O press.

-i want realtime (at least within the game) day/night cycle. don't like how it's night until you reach a certain point, then it turns to day.

fucking FUN game.
I agree on both points. I'd love to be able to drop down and NOT grab on to certain other objects. It has got me killed a few times.

And yes, a real day/night cycle would be a big plus.

Ending was so unbelievably epic and really sets up well for the next game. My only complaints are no new game+ and the enemies accuracy. New Game+ should give me back all my XP and let me spend it however I want. The game is Single Player so I don't see the problem in doing that. The enemies accuracy was just ridiculous. I was playing on hard and on a couple occasions as soon as I looked over the edge of a building I was dead.

Loving this game. Absurdly addictive.

How long did it take you guys to reach full Hero/Villain status?

I believe I'm on the last mission of the first island and my karma meter is about a third into the section. Sound about right? I'm worried I've been blasting about too haphazardly.

I still don't get the obsession with day/night cycles, unless the gameplay calls for it. As inFamous is separated into chapters ("days"), it would seem rather silly for a continuous day/night cycle to push forward the passage of time in conflict with the story.

That said, I thought the atmosphere for each chapter would be distinct and run along with the emotions/story elements for said chapter, but they seem almost random. In that aspect, it's kind of disappointing.

Just got thus, gonna start playing in about 10 minutes. Dead excited! Anything I should be given a head up about (Missables etc.)? No spoilers though please!

Reached the 2nd tier into Good status. Upgraded my thunderdrop or whatever move and decided to test it out.

Jumped from a really high building, came crashing down in my all mighty glory like the badass fist of justice I was. Then... I was at the first tier of Good Status again.... oops.

Got about 50% of the 1st island cleared. Really wish melee didn't feel so sloppy, but it's mostly an after thought anyway. Does it get better if you upgrade melee? Oh, and I want my damn grenades already!

Game is quite addictive, but I'm really not entirely sure what it is that i like about it. It doesn't really do any one thing great, but I guess the sum of it's parts makes for a solid whole.

Oh, and if by the off chance, any one has any motion sickness, like I did, change the default camera follow speed to normal. It defaults to Fast. That really helped me a ton :lol

Just finished the game on good. Very good. Wished the story was a bit more involved but maybe doing it on evil will help that problem.

Questions for those already doing their second time

When I start a new game
1) Are the stunts I have already done carried over?
2) How about the shards I have picked up?

Well, the Dead Drops give a bit more story as well. Be sure to find those along with the shards.

Unfortunately, the stunts and shards do not carry over, but this game is so damn fun I don't mind playing it over just because. Gotta try Evil still :D

P.S. Does anyone find the powerless portions of each island to not only look dreary, but also beautiful? I wish the camera system would change DOF more often:

Thanks for the info.

Yes, I actually did get all the dead drops. Sadly, I didn't really care about Trish as much as I probably should have.

You can have a game with full day/night cycle while you are playing, and have it trigger certain times of the day when you go to a mission marker. GTA games have done it. It lets the dev put you in the mood they want you to for the mission itself, but let you go through a day/night cycle to give effect of a living city.

This game gets fucking infuriating. Got three of the hot air balloons down, on the fourth with the machine guns. No clue how to get rid of them. Gliding towards it and the game freezes. AWESOME.

Glide towards it with the shield on...of course that won't fix the freezing :9

Well, now that more people are finally beating the game, I'm going to quote myself from a much earlier page:

End game discussion:

I really, really hope that Sucker Punch lets us use our inFamous save in inFamous 2, so that we can continue our evil/good paths.
It seems like that may be what they're setting up, though. Sasha constantly talks to you during the evil campaign, and hints at you two possibly working together in the future.
How awesome would that be??

Sasha > Trish, by the way
:P

Can someone explain how am i suppose to use the power that is suppose to redirect airborne bombs? i have the power seen the tutorial in the powers menu but dont get it. thanks

Shoot the rocket, then shoot an enemy with the normal attack and the rocket will home in on the enemy.

Gahhh, I feel so dumb. Thanks!
Took me awhile to figure it out to. I never use the shield lol.

Is the Uncharted 2 "multiplayer demo" voucher I received when I got this game different from the "multiplayer beta" voucher shown in the OP? The slip says that the promotion code is valid from 8/19/09-9/18/09, which is a far cry from June 3rd.

Is the beta voucher in the case (haven't had time to open the game yet)?

currently mopping up sidequests on the first island. 131 shards, 17 stunts completed. There was a complete list of the stunts posted pages ago, anyone have them?

Was trying to get 5 enemies with 1 sticky bomb, but that shit is frustrating :/

yep. the demo code is for uncharted 2 pre-order. the store i got it from fucked up as well and gave that to me too.

Also, I was pissed with the stunts, i hit 3 guys off a rooftop with shockwave like 3 times and they all were taken down but i never got the stunt for it. I collected everything in the game and am missing 4 stunts but only 85% completion?

Question:

I've entered the second area but only had the Neon district at about 65%. Can I go back to finish it, get shards, etc. at some point later in the game?

When you get to the second island you have missions with tons of enemies. I got that one without knowing about it. I am stuck on the knock 3 guys off the roof, no more dark water missions.

Onto the 2nd island. I'm trying to keep trophy thoughts out of my head for now, there'll be plenty of time for that later, just enjoy the game.

How do you know how many shards you've picked up?

oh man i feel for you. I was shitting blood getting 3 with 1 shockwave. Managed it though. Luckily there were 4 Dark Water sidemissions on the first island.

Don't knwo why i give a shit, though.

@Squirrel: look at your saves to see how many shards you got.

I was trying to do that on one of the later missions
the mission that you have to destroy the anti-aircraft
and it wouldnt award it to me and i would shockwave 3 guys, get take down x3, but no student

So I got the game. The first thing I did was immediately hate Zeke and shoot him in the middle of his stupid face. Never before have I felt such intense hatred for a character, and instantly. He simply must have been written with the intent of making you megaloath him. Which would lead me to believe that at some point you'll be given the opportunity to finally kill him. Please tell me he dies at some point during the story? I'd be so pissed if he doesn't.
