inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

I think im going to leave the rest of the stunts to my second playthough, its hampering my enjoyment on the game. The stunts are freaking hard to do and are really finicky as well. I pushed three people off a rooftop with shockwave (twice), it should be that simple to complete, why I dont have it unlocked is beyond me.

All three must die of High Fall at the same time, I believe.

Trying to get that stunt where you kill 5 guys using melee in under 30 seconds. But finding 5 guys together is pretty hard when I cleared up 100% of all 3 islands :(

Yeah, I completed all the side missions on the first island and it's basically empty, with nothing to really do except look for shards. I'm gonna make sure I don't do that for the second and third islands, to leave some meat around to fry.

Interesting, but the Dark Water mission should have worked, I got High Fall x3 and all that but no luck. I'll try this strategy some time later today, but I might still leave the rest for my evil playthrough, since I wont have to worry about shards or dead drops, it will give me something else to do.

Nah, from an importer. 90 buckos

And yes its one of the best games for PS3.
So fun and addictive

Strange. I just finished the bus mission and it said my actions made me slightly more evil. I'm playing on the good side, and the only evil thing I did was Bio drain one dude to refill my powers.

Quite frankly I'm surprised they didn't bump you to inFamous... you sicko
edit-gah.. sorry man I'm really bored :lol

I just got it and have only played an hour or two, this is a fantastic game so far. What's really cool is that you can see the legacy of the Sly Cooper games in the running and jumping controls (the way he runs and attaches to narrow pipes, etc. is highly reminiscent of Sly Cooper). Add what seems to be a cool upgrade system and a Crackdown-like feel so far, and I'm hooked.

One weird thing is that I did pretty shitty (or so I thought) one an early mission and it upgraded me to hard difficulty. We'll see how that goes.

I was getting good points all over the place during that mission, would one evil point really cause that to happen?

I guess so, perhaps points of the opposite side (Hero/Infamous) are weighted so that they have more of an influence on your status.

You can change it back in the Options. Considering you're not the first to mention the difficulty change and not mention the ability to change it makes me wonder if I'm the only guy who dives right into the Options menu as soon as I start a game.

Meh. So play.com shipped it on the 26th (3 whole days before the official EU release) and it's not here yet.
While YOU? living in Argentina, already got it. wtfisthisshit.

It really is the best way to refill your powers. Cars give me almost no juice and in a crazy firefight like
the hospital shootout
you don't have many alternatives. I'm playing it on hard though, so maybe it's different on the normal difficulty.

No, I noticed that because I had to switch the horizontal camera to normal (i hate it inverted), I'm just wondering if Normal is easy and Hard is challenging but not frustrating. We'll see as I go along.

I'm playing it on hard and it hasn't been that bad. I haven't been frustrated yet, and aside from some strange moments where fifty enemies camp at the foot of whatever building I'm on and obliterate me when I jump off, it hasn't been too difficult.

That's how it goes sometimes. If I work at soup kitchen ever day for a year and donate my lifesaving to the American Cancer Society, I don't get a "1 free murder" card. :P

Bio Leeching is probably considered pretty bad in the game because its not something you would do on accident.

Wow, all the powers really work. I read earlier someone doesn't even use polarity wall but honestly, my play style is chaotic. Even with enemies EVERYWHERE in historic I'm just RUNNING AT THEM FULLSPEED unleashing a whirlwind of awesomeness.

The polarity wall upgrade makes it so that enemy bullets get converted into energy. So you can just throw your whole power bar and devastate almost everyone, then use the wall to get even closer (while recharging) and melee the poor souls still remaining

The megawatt hammer's seeking ability is also godly combined with karmic overload. Anyone who has both of these should get into a larger fight and then use karmic overload, unleash TONS of the hammers into the air, then shoot the middle of the crowd :D

About the ending...
Could it be that the evil guy in the future is evil Cole from the past? if there is something wrong with time traveling is that it fuck things up real bad

No it happened to me too, and I wasn't doing anything evil, I wasn't even thunderdropping onto the buses, just gliding on and taking out the engines, and it still gave me evil karma, or at least I think it might have, the bar didn't seem to move.

I'm also getting quite a few glitches where the game's animation can't seem to handle small changes in elevation and treats it like a deadend unless I jump over it. mostly it seems to be rooftops, but it happened when I was running at a set of stairs and just hit an invisible wall.

Usually after the first encounter with the Reapers at the food drop. What I did was change the difficulty of my first save after I finished the main story. The new game will carry over the options from the old save.

Did you finish the game when doing that (change difficulty on previous save, start new game and retain the settings) and earn the trophy? I'd like to know if that's a safe way of earning the trophy, or if letting the game change the difficulty for me is the only option (don't want to be burned after a lot of hours have been invested).

I've seen something like this a couple of times but sometimes it happens on flat ground. It's as if I'm bouncing off an imaginary wall. I jump past the problem spot and the problem goes away. It hasn't been a big problem but it's happen enough times that I recognize it immediately and I know what to do to get around it.

Nah because then it would have been Cole from the futures past. How about Evil Cole from another dimension who instead of gaining time-travel, gained the ability to travel to other worlds

That would be like... a double time paradox.
:o

I think my game is broken... for the power that I have to complete side missions to unlock it seems the game is not recognising I have done them. I has been stuck at 1 for ages

I am already on the second Island now, so I am not restarting

You have to finish a certain number of good or evil side missions for those powers. I believe there are only 5 on the first island.

So they are separate from the normal side missions (ie. taking out the surveillance on buildings)? The game really does not make that too clear

Yes, they're separate. You can differentiate them on the maps because the evil ones have a red background and the good ones have blue backgrounds, and they're usually right next to each other. All the side missions have yellow exclamation marks.

The game makes it perfectly clear; regular neutral side missions are simply yellow dots, good/evil side missions (there are 5 of them on each island) are either blue and red; for example, do a blue side mission, and you will lock the corresponding red mission.

EDIT: beatzor.

*sigh*

Worst fears confirmed. I meticulously scoured each block of every island for shards, just finished up the third island and yes..I'm missing 7. I honestly don't know how I've missed 7. I was so thorough in my searching! I first went around the very rim of each island, then worked my way inwards, block by block.

MASSIVE RAGE!

Hero has an upgrade to the Megawatt Hammer that makes all the electroballs that you shoot out fly towards the enemy you tag with the standard attack. Essentially you can unload 15+ balls into the air, then attack an enemy with the basic attack and make all the balls fly straight toward him. How awesome? So awesome.
so being good pays off at the end?
the continuous Arc electricity looks very Sith and cool

Do the counter trophies stack across multiple games? You know, like 100 high falls, 25 kilos on the rails, etc?

How do you see how many shards you've collected? I couldn't find it.
Go into the save section and sit on the save file for a second and the data pops up.

Just bought this game, looks like it may be selling at a good clip because my Best Buy had like two copies left. GAF, please tell me I can copy my save data .....

The saves aren't locked at all.

gaf, please don't tell me there are shards in the areas that you fight bosses that you can't get back to once you've fought that boss? I can't find these remaining 7 for the life of me. Also, there's no way to get back into the sewers right?

That's nothing. Try going for all 200 pidgeons in GTA4. I think I dropped 20 hours on that alone, WITH a freaking guide.

Oh and this is a cool game. Really didn't acclimate to the demo, but the slow ramp of abilities and light enemy encounters have made the experience far more satisfying. Really trying to endure the plot and cutscenes, but I really can't seem to care as much as I am trying. Having a ball just scouring for collectables and doing missions though.

So apparently Garnett on 1up leaked that Sly 4 was going to be Sucker Punch's next game?

...

Disappointed if true...

InFAMOUS is so fucking fantastic I want them to make another one.

After playing it some more, I've concluded that this is the best PS3 game out there right now. Right up there with Ratchet.

Weren't you a huge hater? :lol

IT IS one of the best PS3 games for sure.

oh- and apparently i only have one more stunt left to do- The Lightning Storm one, which I haven't even unlocked. I guess that will be easy enough to do?:D
