inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

I'd recommend carrying on, if only for the variety in playstyle. Once you start to upgrade a few powers it's really liberating not having to care for trivial things like... innocent lives!

I'm a little way through the Warren on my evil/hard run and it arguably plays even better this time around. The bump in difficulty really makes you think about how you approach combat, and running along the ground is a shortcut to an early grave.
Yeah i was a little bitch on my Good play through, saving everyone. I guess it'll be liberating to not give a shit - I already started killing people for now reason...so that was fun.

We'll see. I always say I'll go back, but rarely do I.

Was loving Bioshock, then accidentally saved over my game - was very near the end. Never went back...so I still don't know how it ends.

Ratchet is amazing, but unlike inFAMOUS, I dunno if you can play it for more than a couple of hours at a time. You'll be coming back to inFAMOUS, dont worry. They all do.

I did. You will too. :lol :lol

I dunno, so much variety in Ratchet that i can play for quite a while, especially when i can shake my booty :D

There's a shard that shows up as you drop down (I had the same panic the other night), but I think it's just overlayed from the map above. Certainly I have everything in the Neon District, finished up AFTER I moved onto the Warren.

there are no shards in areas you can't return to, don't worry about it ;)

You guys are awesome, thanks for the reply :)

I currently have 348 shards and i think missing one would have killed my motivation!

The ones I missed were either along the coastline (I did a circle on each island), along the river in The Warren, or in one of those positions that you CAN'T ping from the ground, like the Prison.

The more I think about the game, the more I think that (end-game spoilers, not so much exact event spoilers, but I still wouldn't read them until you're done)

Just an observation.
Actually, I don't know if I would agree to that fully. Perhaps the cinematic values of the events that take place between the second and third island are above the secondary, but the end of the game does, assuming you don't postpone the story missions, have quite a large build up of battles and story. There are even missions like "
Titanic Justice
" which pop up near the end to let you expand on the scale of things.

Holy shit does this game glitch. I got this after doing the Death March side mission. This is hilarious. :lol

Dude, that doesn't seem like glitching, hate to be the bringer of bad news but seems like the graphic card in your PS3 is frying/dying (typical artefacting).
Sadly true. I'd definitely back up all saves that you have immediately. :(

Huh, you don't say? :(

I backed up my saves about a month ago, guess I should prepare for the worst.

As chubs said, back up everything again, and keep playing inFamous (have a USB stick close by in case you want to backup the inFamous save fast and easy), until it gets worse. Then call Sony and try to sort it out. ;/ How is your PS3 placed currently?

My PS3 has been doing that for a while now and locked up several times during RE5 I'm afraid it won't last much longer. But I played through infamous twice and got all the trophies with no lockups other than the gfx looking like that from time to time.

Got my platinum trophy last night! First one ever, and couldn't have asked for a better game to motivate me to actually want to play it so much to get one.

Actually, it's a little sad not having a goal to work towards anymore in the game.

My ps3 is doing this on the towers(collapsible ones) and in SF4. This freakin sucks. I bet they won't sent me back 60gb either >:(
BTW what the hell at the final boss on hard difficulty. Its like a totally different game o_o. Better get my platinum before my ps3 gives out.

Insomniac : Ratchet team -> Resistance
Naughty Dog: Jak team -> Uncharted
Sucker Punch: Sly team -> Infamous

Sony is really lucky to have this trifecta of awesome dev power.

Finished the game today.

Wow, what an ending, can't wait for the sequel.:D

Sucker Punch made a really nice platformer that actually appeals to the shooter crowd without the cuteyness usually involved.

My Favorite game this year after Nobi Nobi Boy.

Here's a pic of me at the highest point building in the game with the sun setting:

got a 9 minute video coming too.

Cam someone clarify the ending for me a little? Like in a time line kinda thing?

Ok so kessler(future Cole) in his own time period after getting super powers, flees Empire City with his wife? trish. Later on she gets killed. So since he felt like he had no control over nothing, He used his powers to travel to the past. So then he makes the Ray Sphere in hopes of finding his past self(cole?) and to make him emotionally stronger and a better "hero"?

I dont quiet get the (Hero) ending yet. Could someone just explain it to me in a mega simple way?:lol

You got it bro.

Im about quarter way through the Warren, is it just me or does this section look significantly better than the first island? I almost get a sense the artists were a little unsure about the Neon motif and played it safe, but the idea of a slum town just tickled them to death. The architecture, texturing, layout.. everything seems to have a lot more personality.

Just finished my first playthrough as a hero (awesome ending), a couple things flew over my head, though.

1. Why did Cole have the Ray-Sphere in the first place?
2. Did Cole kill Trish's sister?

Wow just did the mission where
you choose if Trish lives or dies
. I really am surprised how much I like the story. Really unexpected but the presentation is so good.

1.
When Kessler completed it, he sent it to Cole's messaging company and asked for no one else but Cole to deliver it.
2.
Kinda, she was one of the people that died in the initial explosion.

The interesting thing about those three teams is watching them all slowly develop as studios. With each passing game you can clearly see what they've learned from their previous games, and how they're trying to better themselves for whatever they're currently working on. It's nice to be able to see that, as opposed to, say, a more closed off Japanese studio.

Is
38. End of the Road
the last mission? And can I keep hunting for shards after I beat the game?
My completed good save is at number 40, so I think you have at least one more to go. And yes you can do everything you've missed after the credits roll. :)

I've just found an easy way of doing both the 'Right Back At Ya' and 'Have a Nice Fall' stunts. Unfortunately both require you to still be playing the game (And one to be going for the evil side quests). :(

Have a Nice Fall
There's an evil side mission that starts in the south west corner of the Warren (It is one of the last ones to appear, and is adjacent to its good twin (Like IMMEDIATELY next to it).
Sasha asks you to escort three Reaper Conduits to make sure they don't get in trouble. Follow them for a while and there will be a couple of short skirmishes, and after that you will end up on a roof, with another roof slightly lower and absolutely teeming with dustmen. Jump down and shockwave to your hearts content... if it doesn't work, just get yourself killed (Without completing the mission obviously) and you'll spawn right back next to that roof. Repeat until you get the stunt, took me two tries only.

Right Back At Ya
The about halfway through the floor section of the mission where you need to rescue
Zeke from the crane
, again in the Warren, you'll come across a section with two grenade throwing dustmen behind cover. They do nothing but throw grenades constantly, and there are a few mobile lights nearby that you can use to keep recharging your shockwave. Just keep spamming it until you get it, there's no real danger of dying.

Hope those help somebody, I was dreading doing those stunts after all of the horror stories I've heard. :)

Just beat the game. Holy shit! Awesome.

The presentation in this game was really top-notch as far as the storytelling goes. I enjoyed the gameplay but the story ended up being the most exciting part for me which was completely unexpected.
Eagerly awaiting the sequel now....
:D

Just finished the game on good. Ending wasnt near as dumb as some people say (though not a masterpiece by any means either).

All that being said, definitely my favorite ps3 game so far, edging out MGS4.

Agh there seems to be a sidequest missing...can't get 100% in Historic District. Anyone else have this problem?

EDIT: Nevermind; was a hidden package mission that wasn't appearing for some reason. 100% missions with 11 blast shards to go....

I actually found a really good place to do "Have a Nice Fall" that can be done fairly early on and either good or bad. There is a "Dark Water" side mission that is on the south end of the first District, Neon is it? that is right off of the train line. The building that has the water that needs to be cleaned has an upper portion and a lower portion that actually has the container, on the upper portion are 3 Reapers. If you jump on the roof, and then jump back down on the ledge all 3 reapers will swarm over the top of the edge you are sitting at. You can just jump up quickly and blast them with your shockwave if you time it right. I've done it twice now, both on good and evil, and it is also the only time I have ever done that particular stunt. So hard to find 3 guys close together :(

I really enjoyed this game and as much as I hate to say it, I wouldn't really mind if Sucker Punch went straight to work on a potential sequel rather than Sly 4. Whatever they do next though my wallet will be ready to support it day 1 though. Really great game.

that part of the game where you climbed up and up and up.. was kind of hot. Best part? Jumping all the way down and doing the whole exploding on the ground from impact + power thing.

348/350 too, even used the maps. Not sure where I missed, but I will most likely have another go at those last two tomorrow. Seems as though this trophy should be worth more than a bronze though.

I missed one on top of the prison, did you try there?

Finally found it. It was at the end of one of the docks in the Historic District.

I have no idea how I missed it before. Perhaps I looked at the dock and though I already checked it since it's identical to other docks in other parts of the city.

Oh, well. Most painful Platinum ever. Did NOT enjoy going for it one bit due to this Blast Shard crap (or better, the lack of info about what you got and where). And I'm afraid R3 is about to die. I have been spanking that switch for the last 3 days.

Same one I missed when I was at 349. I honestly didn't mind the shard hunting, although I did know how many were in each district before I started - the one benefit of Australia getting the game later than the rest of the word!

@ any shard hunters, do not be hesitant to check a place you are positive you have checked before. BOTH of my final shards were right next to each other and I could have sworn without a doubt that I had been there more than once.

I finally got so fed up(so many hours spent trying to find the last few) I checked the spot again and BAM there they were.
