inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

To this day I still don't get how the game's AI is difficult for anyone. Sucker Punch doesn't make difficult games, inFamous on hard was just a notch above normal.

I cannot make myself finish this... probably 2/3 and bored as fuck.

The enemies in this game are more annoying than anything from recent memory... they are worse than in Ghost Recon. Just total shit.

Love Sucker Punch. But this game is boring and annoying.

Bring on Sly. I probably wouldn't cross the street for a free copy of Infamous 2.

It's not difficult so much as it's cheap... and so fucking annoying.

The game automatically upgraded me to hard after the border patrol thing at near the beggining. Even though it's not the whole game, will I still get the Hard Trophy for it?

This is...yeah, just a couple notches above "normal". I'm dieing alot, and the Reapers just keep kicking my ass alot. Not too frustrating though, I pick it up after a few deaths, when I'm stuck on a mission.

The main thing I noticed about playing on Hard was I got less orbs to upgrade with, the AI didn't seem that much tougher but perhaps it's cause I had already finished it once before.

Fuck, almost at the end (I think) and this game is kicking my ass right now. Hard mode is, well, hard.

Doing "Hunt for the Ray Sphere" and it's tough as nails. Not getting the "superman" feeling right now :lol.

First playthrough? If so, hard is pretty hard. But once you know what you are doing Hard is not too bad as a second playthrough.

The game wants you to keep moving and rolling around, the more you do that the easier it gets.

Oh god I'm stuck on 349 shards. I even used a map and still came up short.

In the river (blue blends with blue), out by a pier, or at the tip of a skyscraper where the ping doesn't show it.

Seems like the most common places people leave a shard.

I already beat the game a year ago and gave it up on Goozex but lately I've been craving it again. I never finished collecting those damn shards.

Question, I finished thsi on Hard this weekend, but I totally forgot to do the last upgrade at 12k XP. Is there any XP boosting tricks or anything? I only have 4k left over, I did all the side missions and there are barely any enemies to hunt down.... Somebody help!

There are some spots where enemies will always spawn even after everything is complete. Look on ps3trophies.org I think.

Another option is to load a pre-end save game and get exp, die, get exp, die... thus repeating a certain area over and over to farm xp.

I last saved right before the final boss, so I'm screwed, also, the site said to restart and do it again.... F that. Seriously. not going throgh every mission again.

There are some fast xp areas, so even if you restart you dont have to do the whole thing. Just find one of the fast XP areas and level everything up. It should not take more than 1-2 hours.

I bought this game for 10 or so bucks on Black Friday and just beat it today. Pretty amazing game imo. Not all that excited for Infamous 2 though.

Only thing that major-ly disappointed me was that your moral choices had no effect on the storyline, just your powers. Other than that, from a gameplay perspective I was blown away at how masterful the control scheme was and the combinations that were possible. Once you had the gliding function, it was non stop bliss.

Also, the graphics couldn't really be appreciated during the nighttime sequences as much compared to daylight.

I am super hyped for Infamous 2 though. I also can't wait to see how they implement MOVE controls.

A crazy assed bump I know but,

I'm hyped for the sequel but have yet to play the original, is it still worth purchasing or has it aged horribly?

Thanks.

Well, I played it right after the sequel was initially announced and I loved it. In fact, it ended up being one of the best games I played in 2010. It's also the reason I'm so active in the I2 threads.

Go get it. Great platforming + shooting + sandbox, it's easily one of my favorite games on the PS3.

Keep in mind though, graphics, story and characters aren't all that great. But the game is pure fun when your're playing it.

I just finished my good playthrough, and i agree. The evil playthrough is so much more fun.

Not having to care about where you aim and just letting loose and causing destruction is awesome.

Bought this after hearing the announcement for part 2. The ending was great and has me pumped for the sequel.

I just hope they make the pedestrians smarter this time around. Fighting bad guys having them run right in my way while using special powers bring down my Karma. Fucking frustrating.

Is it worth playing the game again on evil side? Does it change much story wise?

Not really but it was fun doing it. Pedestrians will hate you though and openly attack you.

Absolutely. There are different upgrades for both allignments if I remember correctly. Also a few extra missions available only to evil players.

The only run I did was the evil one. Cole becomes this dirty diseased looking renegade with red lightning, you cause collateral damage and massive explosions in the streets without regards for peon life and sucking their life force to keep you alive. I love the quests where someone offers you a blast shard in exchange for a favor and Cole can just decide to fry them and take it instead.

In the end, I think Evil Cole is pretty damn powerful compared to the good one which might be a lil restrained/conservative, not sure. Haven't done that one.

Definitely starting the sequel with no regard for human life whatsoever.

Nah, Hero Cole has much more powerful powers due to the fact that they are all precision based.

I need to replay this again quickly in order to get the save game benefits in the sequel without wearing myself out on the gameplay by the time it comes out. I wish my stupid 60 gig hadn't died.

im actually surprised at how few tries it took me considering the pounding psn must be taking

Got the freebie today.

Starting an evil playthrough (not sure I'm gonna want to make 2 yet).

Any starting tips, things to know, mistakes to avoid ?

Hate this game. Payed 30 bucks on it on PSN. Not worthy.

I dont know what´s the problem with it, but i just dont like it! And i keep playing just cause "since i payed for it, i should at least finish it", but its a chore.

I got Red Faction Guerilla at PSN by the same time and it made me much much happier.

If you want to collect all the shards for the trophy you should know that if there's one at the top of a very large tower it won't show up on your radar if you're at street level.

Shouldve waited till yesterday for free and you wouldnt be whining, also I like this more than Red Faction. Only thing I loved from that game was physics on destruction. Was to repetitive and an empty red planet
