Why are you so sure about Animal Man?

I know very little of DC and I don't think this character is very popular or known but I was rewatching Young Justice and I thought Klarion was a pretty cool character.
Ah well, maybe Injustice 3.
Problem is Doctor Fate fights with magic and Atrocitus took the whole 'fights with cat' shtick.

There was a lot of requests for him back when Injustice first came out.
As over the moon as I would be for Animal Man to be added, I just can't see that happening at all.
Klarion would be great. His magic is different than Fate's and they could use Teekl in his super move as opposed to being his trait.

Whew Swamp Thing's victory animation is sublime.
He has been championing Red Hood since pre-Injustice 1. So makes sense.
However, I agree with you. I'll take Grodd and Cold over a generic edgy shoot bang knife guy any day--and he's even one of my favorite DC characters! Not to mention that he's a Bat-family character

Black Manta and Constantine would be great DLC characters. DC is so odd with when they do or don't push Constantine. He's slowly making it back into the Arrowverse at least.

In regards to Animal Man, I think Vixen is more likely. She helps to diversify the roster and the general audience is probably more familiar with Vixen thanks to her appearances in the CW-verse and the Justice League animated series. Animal Man could be a Premier Skin though, as I could see the implementation of their powers being similar in game.

By Darkseid I just mean it's a similar thing to Goro where they just count him as a part of the kombat pack, and whore him out in every dlc bundle like it actually means something.
As in it was always 8 DLC characters, and the 9 was just sloppy marketing.

Thinking about the DLC/Season Pass, with 9 characters to release, I'm expecting a breakdown of at least two guest characters, four heroes and three villains. Darkseid is pre-order DLC and when combined with the three additional Season Pass villains, creates an even split.
As paid DLC, I would expect them to go with the route of whoever's most popular over diversity. Not sure who that'd be.
Black Manta and Static strike me as black characters who'd get in over Vixen, but she's probably the most likely black woman?
It's kind of fucked up to hold static back for DLC lol. I mean, he's super popular and was demanded so much that they put him in the mobile game. But that answers my own question, he will make them a ton of money haha. Boon did a poll recently on what characters that would like to see in IJ2, and the choices were Ivy, Swamp Thing, and Constantine. So that means that either he will most likely be DLC or he put John in there as an odd man out type deal.

That post was in reference to the Animal Man suggestions. I wasn't commenting on the state of Vixen's popularity or the odds of her being included in the Season Pass, but she is more familiar to general audiences and thus NRS would likely choose her over Animal Man.
I think the choices were Black Manta, Starfire, and Constantine. He held an earlier poll with Blue Beetle, Captain Cold, and Swamp Thing.

Black Manta, Constantine and Red Hood are strong choices for the Season Pass. I don't care for Starfire or have enough familiarity with her outside of the Teen Titans, so I'm not going to comment on her popularity. Given Raven made the first game's starting roster, however, I could see her being another strong contender.
Bumblebee, she's getting pushed in DC's super hero girls line.
Amanda Waller obviously, but she's not gonna be playable.
Rocket too.
Black Lightning's daughters, one of whom will be in the TV show.

Oh okay, I thought you meant in general terms. As I said though, Vixen has more mainstream recognition or rather general audience familiarity, through the CWVerse and the Justice League and other DC Comics animated series.
Yeah I'd agree with that, I'm not sure who's buying the DLC though, not sure if it skews to more hardcore DC fans or just casuals who want a bigger fix. I feel the former might skew Animal Man, the latter toward Vixen.

It'd be a cop-out if NRS offered Vixen as a Premier Skin for Cheetah and didn't utilise the full extent of her totem powers. The characters couldn't be more different.
I would throw the mother of all rage fits and lay half of GAF to waste.

True, true. It's a shame there's no breakdown of the first game's DLC sales in those terms. It'd be interesting to see the split of the DLC buyers.

Hmm, that would indeed be shitty if Darkseid was counted as one of the 9. But I think they'd be upfront about that if it were true. Goro was promoted a lot before release but the Kombat pack was always specified as 4 characters.

That's a great idea. I hadn't considered that possibility, I just assumed his unique customisation option would be his ring. I don't mind how the different Corps are implemented into the customisation, so long as each Corps has one or two unique abilities.
I think Steppenwolf is a likely DLC choice to promote the Justice League movie in November, like how Zod came out near the Man of Steel release in 2013. He could be interesting with his electrified axe and Parademon army.
Also, October 2017 is the 25th anniversary of Mortal Kombat, so that's as good a time as any to release the inevitable MK guest character.

This debate about the Season Pass just makes me dislike the idea of the incoming Guest Characters even more. There are so many interesting characters within the DC Universe, without having to draw on other external material.

Ah yes, you are correct. That makes me sadder actually then because none of those characters are on the base roster haha.
I can kinda see Static getting left out entirely due to the Milestone stuff (which would be a shame, since that'd also screw Static out of Young Justice Season 3), but I'll maintain hope that DC & Milestone can work things out. Assuming that won't be an issue, I'd fully expect Static, Constantine, & Red Hood to be DLC.
