Injustice 2 Roster Discussion & Speculation Thread

So does anyone think that Darkseid won't play a role in the story as he is the preorder dlc character in the same way Goro didn't feature in the MKX story (outside the comics)? Maybe my logic is faulty and it doesn't matter. I know Brainiac is the big bad but I hope Darkseid appears also.

There has been 0 mention of Dark Seid, who would be a major antagonist, from any story tidbit we ever got.

So chances are very very low.

What is possible is that he is teased in the ending of the game.

But many people are betting on Ra's to have some kind of tease.
 
With the mention of a post game support and them mentioning it being "surprising", I'm curious if they intend to do story DLC, which would mean that Darkseid could and would be a potential threat in his own story.

I've never played the first mobile game, but if this 2nd one is an indicator for the greater game, then we might have throwaway characters to fight similar to MKX's Baraka clones or whatever. That would mean we could get Parademons to fight.

Given the threat escalation between the first and second game, I'd expect Darkseid and the New Gods to be involved in a third game as the central focus. I think a Ra's tease is unlikely.

A story DLC would be absolutely amazing. I know they said they want to support this game longer than they have their prior games so this would be a good choice to do so. They could sell them like comic chapters lol.
 
I agree for online modes, there should be a mode that is separate for gear and abilities.

But I'm not really sure how you would do that as it would split the ranked player pool.

For competitive tournament play, it should always be base vanilla characters.

The only way I could see abilities being allowed in tournament would be to have them preassigned to the different loadouts, but due to the fact some take up two slots those particular moves would have to be banned. Or allow ability assignment from the character select screen. I do think it's kind of a waste to have so many moves you'll never see in tournament play. Sucks really. :(

Edit: and obviously let it disable stats haha.

I'm hoping that they don't do two returning character reveals back to back who knows. I think Dr. Fate and Captain Cold are way out from being revealed so that leaves us with Firestorm and Scarecrow? I predict Scarecrow as he's already been leaked via mobile game.

Annual #3 IIRC. The one that starts with a flashback to the day of the nuke where Kid Flash runs straight into the blast due to looking behind him at his friends and Gar dies in Superboy's arms.
 
The IGN First Month for Injustice is almost over. I hope they still release something good in those last few days. A look at Cyborg seems likely and i would love to see a gameplay reveal for Flash.

So like, can we assume that the characters that are in both IJ1 and IJ2 are going to be the mainstays for the series from now on?

Given his prominent role in the story of Injustice 1, it makes sense. But yeah. I kind of think some of the bigger veteran characters that got omitted will be among the 9 DLC chars (Shazam, Lex Luthor, Sinestro, possibly Manhunter).

I suppose. But then again Bane is Batwank, and other than Batgirl, no Batwank is allowed to be cut.
And before you say Nightwing, the moveset is gone, but Damian Wayne remains as Robin :p

I really liked Astra in the Supergirl show. Shame she doesn't exist in the comics. :( Faora is the only evil female Kryptonian from the books as well right? I guess she'd be cool but I so loved Zod in Injustice 1. He's my favourite character to play.

Also, Infinite Crisis, as rubbish as it was, made me realize Starro would be really cool. Obviously would be harder to formulate a fighting game character around him than a MOBA one, but still, Starro would be awesome.

I'm not too fond of Lobo as a character though he is fun to play. I honestly liked all of the DLC characters except for Scorpion.

IC having Starro and Krypto was awesome. Game had reeeally cool alt costumes too.
Man i miss Infinite Crisis :/

Yeah, but it also had like 4 version of Batman, the Joker and Superman each to go along with it, but I loved the super outlandish as hell characters it also brought in. Krypto was hilarious and Starro was awesome.
It's a shame it went the way of the Dodo, but I'm honestly not surprised - the gameplay was nothing particularly interesting, and they never released more modes either.
