Assassin's Creed Roadmap Explained

At the time of writing, this is what the Assassin's Creed roadmap currently looks like. I've refrained from putting exact dates as the Shadows delay has altered the release dates, but generally speaking they are in order of release.

Note – Assassin's Creed Netflix game, codenamed Mask, has likely been cancelled.

Jade – Jade is an Assassin's Creed game set in China and is suppose to be the next Assassin's Creed game to release.

Invictus – Invictus is the working title for an Assassin's Creed 'Fall Guys' inspired game, where players will complete in matches of 16 players. If Invictus aligns with internal expectations, there's around a 5 year plan for support and updates already pencilled in.

Obsidian – Assassin's Creed Blackflag Remake – Rebuilt in the new Anvil engine. Obsidian is expected to launch around the same time as Invictus.

Hexe – Originally codenamed Neo, Assassin's Creed Hexe (still a working name), is scheduled to release after Shadow's support ends. Shadows is scheduled to have around 2 years of DLC support and Hexe will have 1 year of DLC support.

Scarlet – Scarlet is the next big RPG after Shadows and will release after Hexe support ends (1 year). I haven't been able to pinpoint further details on what this game is, but it has been greenlit and has entered production. My speculation is that it's Assassin's Creed Nebula, which is a game that will take place in three different settings: India, the Mediterranean, and the Aztec Empire.

Stardust – Stardust is Ubisoft's second remake in development and will enter production following Obsidian's release. It's currently unclear on what the remake is.

Emerald – Emerald will launch shortly after Stardust (within a couple of months) and will be another multiplayer title with at least a 5 year plan if the game releases and meets internal expectations. This could be the PvE game previously under the codename "Raid" or the other multiplayer game under 'Echoes'. It appears at the very least that one of those games have been cancelled.

RPG3 – RPG3 currently does not have an assigned codename, developer, or theme, but is pencilled in to release after Scarlet's two years of support.

Remake3 – Remake3 currently does not have an assigned codename, developer, or game, but will be a remake that will release approximately 1 year after RPG3's release.

Invictus sounds very risky. I doubt they'll get to support it for 5 years but you never know, could be something fresh people just get into.

They didn't even finish the story for ac shadows....
Spoiler - Naoe story doesn't have an ending and yasuke ending sucks ass

Here ladies and gentlemen in the definition of creative bankruptcy.

I'm surprised Tencent is allowing these multiple AC games to be in development. You expect the most wealthiest game publisher in the world based off in China who has a 25% state in Ubisoft's new subsidiary would have a major say based on their concerns of the game's quality and expenses, as AC: Shadows was no doubt a major sales disappointment at best or a flop at worst.

The game is supposed to get free DLC. I'm guessing that is to finish Naoe's story. Incredibly stupid.

If they don't improve the narrative and writing I dont see a good future for this franchise

Shadows is absolutely terrible in that regard. The first act was somehow interesting but it all goes downhill after that.

AC is the most popular Ubisoft franchise?

Makes no fucking sense. I played the game. I am done with it.
bullshit move by them.
The game world should've been 10x smaller with less bloat... but they found a room for that and not a real ending

Yep. I've been an AC fan since the beginning and this is among the worse. Shadows should be thankful AC3 exists

Only thing I care about on that list is a Black Flag remake in Anvil.

I hope they also do an expanded remake of the very first game.

ac3 was a giant slog but the story was at least somewhat good and it ended.

Honestly, that's the one AC game I couldn't finish. I'll probably try again one day.....but geting through all that native American dialogue is such a damn chore.

I know... I finished it on yotuube back then too... it was such a slog to play but the bad characters are so good in it

How is that Black Flag never got a sequel? Ubisoft wastes years making Skull and Bones when all anyone wanted was more Black Flag.

? um......soooo this "leak" seems old as some of the things being stated here have already been revealed. This isn't "insider" information as the fucking person is telling you something that is "next" of some shit that has already been revealed...

So...I stopped reading at "Jade" lol

I really can't wrap my head around how dumb some ideas like Invictus is, if it is a mobile game sure but idk how would that work, AC has potentially a great Multiplayer environment which is like GTA Online style online mode in the main game where you and your friends create an assassin's group and do missions that are designed with multiple assassin's in mind yet somehow UbiSoft is completely resistant towards something like that which seems fun and make sense but they make something AC Fallguys, idiotic!

F2p game with cartoonish visuals.

Expecting Hexe to set a new graphical bar- more linear and atmospheric with horror elements sounds interesting. Have little faith in the story writing at this point though.

AC Shadows gave me nearly instant buyers remorse like no other game in the recent few years. Past the first few hours enjoying the admittedly impressive tech and Naoe somewhat competent stealth gameplay, the game revealed itself to be as shallow and soulless as ever. And god, why include so many cutscenes when they are so terribly written and absolutely boring to watch ?

Decided to give them a chance for the first time in several releases but I regret it so much, will never buy a AC above 20€ ever again

They're 100% killing this IP with this many games. Given that they're remaking other AC games, I hope they remake Unity at some point.
