I'm sorry that you have so little tolerance about the topic but I never was anyone's fanboy. I have all the consoles + PC and VR stuff. Xbox is unjustified because most their games come to PC and still I'm not interested much in their exclusives. I'm just talking about real gaming business circumstances where if you release a BIG hit you no longer free as developer - you must release sequel to maximize profit realize the potential and all the buzz.

Yikes, low but expected. The PC gaming market is very different from the console space.

Bethesda originally jumped to Consoles and left PC gamers behind, because they made so much more money selling console games than PC games. So it makes sense that going the other direction would have disappointing sales. PC is not free money, it is a very competitive market where crappy games just die.

Being DRM free certainly didn't stop the likes of Elden Ring, Baldurs Gate 3 and Cyberpunk from being super high top chart sellers tho, selling more on PC than consoles even. Same for shittons of other games.

You guys still absolutely positive a Bloodborne port will sell many millions of copies on the PC after seeing this? I didn't expect the numbers to be really good or remotely close to PlayStation sales because PC gamers are an entirely different audience. Sure, it's a little extra money, but I'm sure Sony expected more than this.

Horizon Zero Dawn sold many millions on PC over the course of 3 years. I'm sure a game PC gamers are actually interested in (so much so that it is one of the leading games driving the progess in the PS4 emulation scene) would do gangbusters

These claims don't seem to apply to every other third party publisher releasing on PC, judging by how you guys aren't the first to spring up regarding the sales of Baldur's Gate 3 on PC or whatever. It only magically becomes an issue when Sony games are in the crop.

That's the price you pay for releasing them 2 or 3 years later.
By that time anyone who wanted to play that game already played it on console.

But if you release them Day 1 on PC then there's no incentive to get the console, so if they're not willing to do Day 1 releases might as well not release them at all, doesn't seem to be worth it.

But maybe to level it out they release the game on PC within 6 months to max 1 year after Console release.

I'd certainly play the game on Console over PC. I like playing on my big TV screen in my living room. Though I have done the HDMI from my pc to the living room before.

Nah pal. Here's the truth you don't want to accept:

A. Hype-based game from years ago that saw several discounts and giveaways were never gonna sell nearly as much as their original releases. No matter how much you in particular puts these games on a pedestal.

B. Piracy for sony games is no different than for any other drm-free game on the platform (most of them) because there's 0 reason to believe so. Hasn't been an issue for years, hasn't stopped the pc market from thriving, certainly isn't stopping sony from keeping the ports coming.

C. PC gamers aren't desperate for Sony games (unless its a game called Bloodborne), the ones who are already bought and played them on the console ages ago. Despite what you may believe, their games aren't "best in class" by some strange universal metric. Its a big world out there with all sorts of tastes, there are countless people who will take a look at spider-man and go 'meh'. The ones left to buy them would always be double-dippers or people whose interest in these games is mild at best.

Honestly, owning most of these and I must come to the conclusion that a lot of hype around these releases is because they start as exclusives on a box and tribalism makes it good, other box bad.

Peoples expected that Sony would sweep in PC gaming to show us how AAA games are supposed to be, those poor PC guys with no real high budget AAA games, stuck with survivals, rogue, sims, experimental games and mods… they needed saving.

They would port Spider-Man 2 tomorrow and I wouldn't even install it if it was given.

There's many things I could say about modern PlayStation that does not resonate with me compared to their PSX & PS2 days but that's starting a war with too many peoples in this place and even mods are on the button..
