90% of GAF has no idea what an investment bank is or does so don't sweat it, OP. They just read headlines and buzzwords. You're not alone, I assure you.

Do you know internet?

Because the issue here isn't that he didn't know what Goldman Sachs is. It's that he asked while online...and then proceeded to "look it up" and still not know. And, to make matters worse, he likes to put "the hell" into his dumb questions.

I can tell he was an artist, because he's painting quite the picture of himself in his thread.

Just because you look something up doesn't mean you automatically know about it.

Okay people, take this poll:

BAM! O Canada!

I got 10/13 and Im from the UK! go me. Senate, party sign and USA unemployment wrong..

Been along time since ive read a gaf thread that made me cry with laughter :)

Disney World hired me on the spot. Like I literally filled out a paper and got a spot as one of their on-ground "cast members". Probably depends on position and company demand.

Dear God. The anger at this guy for not being a rocket scientist/male model/endurance athlete (at 23) like the rest of GAF.

Look, if we don't have standards then everything will just completely fall apart. Total anarchy. Is that really what you want?

13. That was the easiest thing I've ever done.

I think people who are defending the OP in this thread are being overly charitable, and I think the mockery that he's experienced is well-deserved. The level of internet sophistication required to participate on a forum is considerably higher than that required to conduct incredibly basic research on the simplest of questions.

this is an inordinate amount of drama over a sears interview

would be hilarious if "What is Goldman Sachs?" is the question asked at the interview that determines whether the OP gets the job or not

9/13

11/13. My guess for unemployment was dumb, but I'm not sure why I should know who Sotomayor is. I'm from Canada though, not the US, so I think that's pretty good...?

Her appointment was pretty controversial at the time and she was getting a decent amount of press. Only reason she should be in people's minds recently.

BAM! O Canada!

If you look at the Demographic breakdowns by question, only 43% got the one on who controls Congress....yet 74% could identify their party symbol....that is pretty sad....

Worst though was who is Prime Minister of Great Britain 38% I guess if for Americans that might be about right, but not much different than the control of congress one...

This thread is awesome. Those "interviews" are just a personality test. You need to answer some things specifically or the system just denies your application.

Btw, Goldman Sachs is like 5 fucking interviews. Each at least 1 hour long. Screw that. (Yes I just gloated :P)

That's not gloating. It's rather easy to get an interview.

Now saying you had a job at bulge bracket bank, like a certain hero has, that would be gloating.

I didn't know what Goldman Sachs was. I seriously am pretty apathetic about any form of current events though if that's any meager justification.

I got 13/13 but I guessed some of the questions.

This happened to me a few months ago for this knife company. Instantly registered an appointment for me. Did some research and figured it out it a scam and I'd have to mandatorily spend 150 bucks on knives.
