My connections is acting up as it is only letting me view gaf. I can't browse anything else.

Anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

I've been having Comcast issues today (NW Philly) and my buddy has too. It looks like DNS issues because IP based stuff works fine like my Vonage.

Comcast here in Chicagoland area is fuckin up here up and down too. I can't access some sites, but my downloads are fine. I can't even access Google, that is when you know shit is wrong

i'm in chicagoland also and as i said, i have comcast. GAF is working, Live365.com streaming radio stations are working, Google is not working most of the time, and many websites appear to be down, but probably are not actually down, it's comcast f'ing up.

Change your DNS to 4.1.1.1 and 4.2.2.2 release/renew the IP on your router (if using one) and on your computer.

Q: How do I change what DNS server my computer uses? (#8164)

A: Note: Instructions below are for Windows 2000, XP and 2003 users only. For a complete set of instructions for multiple operating systems, including screenshots, please visit the ORSC website. Additionally, if you are behind a router, you may have to change DNS settings using the router configuration utility. Please consult your user manual.

To change DNS servers:

o Right click on the My Network Places icon on the desktop and select Properties. (If the icon is not available, go to Start menu | My Computer | My Network Places | View Network Connections.)

o Locate the network connection that is associated with your Internet connection. This may be labeled something like "Local Area Connection." If you have more than one connection to choose from, be sure you determine the right one before proceeding.

o Right click on the appropriate connection and select Properties.

o In the list that appears under the General tab, double click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

o In the window that appears, you want to select the option to Use the following DNS server addresses...

At this point you will want to enter at least one of your personal preferred DNS servers. There are a number of public servers suggested by members of the Comcast forum; simply do a search for 'DNS' and you should get adequate results. o Press Ok out of all windows until you are back to the Network Connections window. You can now open your web browser and browse to a website to see if it connects faster.

Comcast is having DNS issues. The easiest way to fix this is to not use the Comcast DNS servers and use someone elses. I was able to get to google from my Treo and find some DNS servers that are open and public

Weird, I'm having similar problems on my downstair's computer. It only gives me access to some sites, including GAF, but says it can't find other sites.

I'm still trying to figure out how you break ALL of your DNS servers. You can refresh to Comcast DNS servers for hours and not get one that works.

I couldn't even get to this site last night. I was able to get in chatrooms and stream stuff, but web pages were loading either slow or not at all. Everyone I knew was having problems. I think it got fixed.

It's nice to get reassurance that it wasn't my f987king computer. Couldn't get LIVE working either of course. It popped on long enough for me to win an auction I was bidding on. That was odd.
