Introduction to MOBAs

i think the one thing that irks me the most about doto is that it says you "pwnd" someone when you killed them

it's like the most stupid thing about the game

That one is pretty good.
told ya

Who are your waifus?
oh so many

lux, sona, syndra, ahri, ori (would love a human form skin :3)...

people say i'd like windrunner in doto cos of her laugh and i do like redheads tbh

I can't even tell what's going on it's just a mash of colors and effects. I think one of the reasons why I gave up on League but manage to enjoy Dawngate is because the art is more clear and the effects and fights have been more readable. The only game I find more frustrating to look at is HoN
yea i don't think any of these games are "intuitive"

you'll never understand anything if you don't know about it beforehand

Funny seeing that name pop up, I used to play with this kid back in the beta days. Is he still relevant?

Also 15 kills 51 minutes in, how do you guys deal with that
no, not really. his team didn't make it into lcs for this season (even tho they were first place for a long time last split, pretty crazy), so i think he's retired or something

and yea sometimes the meta is pretty garbage and low kill games happen but that's why you watch the korean if you want to see fun games.

O-okay. Thanks for the message League.
lol thanks for defending us fools

i watch a ton of pro doto and love it

never managed to get over the hump when i tried to play though and since i didn't know anyone else who played i was soloing which was as bad as expected

i'd like to find a moba i can play but the time investment is ridiculous and i don't think i have the brain capacity to fit another one of these monsters after learning all the dota 2 stuff

All I know, Valve isn't some bastion of gaming decency as some love to pretend.

If they can add a micro-transaction element to their games, they will.

Add a micro transaction element to free games that have absolutely no effect on gameplay and are purely cosmetic?

HOW FUCKING EVIL!!!! Don't even get me started on giving 25% of tournament ticket revenue to the prize pool of the tournament, fuck those losers trying to bait me into buying shit I can watch on twitch for free.

tbh I'd much rather have to pay for all the dota heroes for a sense of progression, dota really lacks that diablo grind element that makes MOBA's so fun imo

We know who the waifus are, who are the manliest men of moba?

16h3.jpg

easily.

if lycan was manly he wouldn't turn into a wolf + hide behind summoned units

he's also rly hung up on his dad, srsly dude u're ur own man now it's time 2 move on

But that universal power is Strong Force, that's pretty manly!

Edit: Or was he weak force, I forget which is which.
Io is the Strong Nuclear Force (binds atomic nuclei together), CK is the Weak (radioactive decay and stuff, which is probabilistic).

Has Blizzard even hinted at a closed beta or anything soon, or is it going to be this Friends and Family Alpha for a bit longer?

Nevermind I found my answer on Twitter just now, looks like close tech alpha (for HotS) for the next several weeks. Looks like I won't be playing it anytime soon, bummer.

Hey all,
I just wanted to stop in and let you know we've seen a few posts indicating that a large number of invites have gone out today; this is not entirely true. While some invitations were sent a bit earlier, we want to manage expectations by saying that very few have been distributed today and let you know the bulk of this week’s invites will be taking place later this week. Additionally, it’s important to note that the invitations we'll be sending later this week will still be very small in comparison to the number of the players who have opted in for testing. As we stated in our PAX Panel, we’ll continue adding more players on a week by week basis.
Thanks!

"Please play our game." -Blizzard

No. It is because of the level wipe for everyone.

Either way - It's a tech alpha. If they want people to play it, it would be available for way more than what it currently is at right now. I honestly only think 3 people who have posted in this thread even have access. During the panel they said the tech alpha would add invites each week to help test their own servers.

it was a joke, but it's nice that you're super cereal about it

i should stop dancing around it and just play lina

i bet i'd actually like doto if i did

She's not all that strong right now, but she can be really fun. Just remember that she's all about nukes. The Q and W do good damage in early laning, but when you get your ult, that's when it becomes super fun. Just find someone, stun them and ZAP!

Actual builds and stuff I reckon would be more appropriate for the Dota thread though.

Are you still awake or did you get some sleep?
yea i slept like 4-5 hours

yea she seems to fit my style since i like to play the mages with the pretty spells and big numbers

i'm still like playing against bots and shit since i'm specially thick and can't really take in all the different mechanics

wait everyone has the same movement speed?

weird
It's part of what let people just walk away from fights. I'm not sure how a global increase will have an impact on things, and I'm not sure it addresses the issues that people had with the game being slow (that's related to health and damage values).

Is Super Monday Night Combat any good? I've been meaning to play it.

On that note, I'm pretty sure there's a normal Monday Night Combat that isn't mentioned on the chart.
