it's like they can't reach their full potential if people are watching
Minions are constructs of the League, used specifically for battle arenas. They aren't sentient. In the earliest days of the League during their extensive testing phase there was a rumor that they were using sentient beings as minions. They even supposedly used necromancy to summon skeletal minions to fight as the minions of today do. Such rumors are generally thought to be unsubstantiated.
I think its like in Dota where the creeps all carry anti-tower technology. Now see, you may wonder why they don't give it to the heroes and champs. And I will tell you. Its because its a trade secret with the creep unions.
I've gotten more harassment and more gratitude in a couple days of playing league than nearly a year of Dota 2. I haven't seen people this mad since SC2 where a well timed baneling or roach bust (or having the audacity to build mutas or broodlords) caused some people to just absolutely melt down. At the same time people are unnecessarily quick to be thankful for heals, tping in to help etcetc Hopefully with further time put in I'll find the general community tone settles down to something more stable.
@Hylian7
Nice mini review. One question, how smooth is the dismounting and getting into combat, can you take damage while doing so? I've watched some streams but it's hard to tell exactly how that's working.

No item. Just a summoner spell that has a long cooldown.Wait what? I thought League didn't have tps (to towers).

Arche Blade looks cool.
My badTurrets get +150 armour and magic resist when no minions are nearby
My bad
In Dota it gains a ton of HP regen and if you don't out DPS it it you basically deal 1 damage a hit.

So someone started a weekly HotS tournament. Did anyone link to any streams yesterday? I forgot about this thread for a bit. Also, my terrible self got into the Alpha recently.
Is blizz putting a ban/pick phase into the game? That'd be kinda silly if they didn't.
Are these the kind of games you need to play to actually get a feel of?
I've had a lot of time on my hands lately, and only a tablet to spend it with, so I've been watching other people game on Twitch.
I've spent the weekend watching games of some League of Legends championship in the hopes that it may grow on me.. See, I've never before played or watched a MOBA game of any sort despite being an RTS gamer. Anyway, long story short, the more I kept watching, the less I understood. I watched about 4-5 games of it until I gave up - I have no idea what the point or fun in it is.

I started playing Dota a week before TI3 (Biggest event) so I could enjoy watching more.I've had a lot of time on my hands lately, and only a tablet to spend it with, so I've been watching other people game on Twitch.

Yeah you'll need to play the game enough to understand what they're doing, if something someone doing is bad.I've had a lot of time on my hands lately, and only a tablet to spend it with, so I've been watching other people game on Twitch.

I still get lost and confused when I watch team fights though. I have no idea how people understand what's going on.
Riot's LCS has instant replays during a broadcast at a reduced speed which I find helpful. (I'm not versed enough in League to just know what's going on, even though I watch LCS.)
A couple of other weird quirks to HotS that I noticed after playing more:
- All spells can damage buildings. Skillshots can be stopped by enemy buildings. This was most evident with Pud- I mean Stitches Hook. I tried to get someone that was past a tower and "ding" nothing.
- If you bring an enemy behind your own fort somehow, they immediately bounce out. I tried hooking enemies in with Stitches and they bounced as soon as they got to the wall. I also used Gorge on an enemy, and walked them behind our fort. As soon as they spit out, they immediately were pushed outside the wall.
That last point sounds wrong. Are you actually talking about the heal area behind the palace/nexus?
No, talking about behind your fort walls anywhere. If no part of the wall is destroyed yet, then they just bounce out. That last point sounds wrong. Are you actually talking about the heal area behind the palace/nexus?
Guess it just doesn't work with Stitches then, because I couldn't hook anyone into my wall if it was all intact.I've been tossed over a wall by Diablo and it sure didn't warp me back over to the other side. It was a death sentence.
