When you enter your pass code to unlock the phone the numbers should glow a light-bergundy color instead of light blue.
Try going to Store > Update iTunes MatchThanks for the help folks.
I've also got one more question regarding iTunes Match. It's just about done uploading and matching everything, but some of my tracks are not showing as available for match.
Weird stuff, like 2 songs off an album show the cloud outline, which I believe indicates they're not available on the cloud. What is causing this? I did a search and found some people discussing some iTunes Match oddities, and this was one of them, but the conversation was from November, so I just figured maybe they had worked out some bugs by now.
Try going to Store > Update iTunes Match
Yeah, that didn't work.
I'm really disappointed to see how many bugs this entire iTunes Match service has even months after launching. I've got quite a few tracks that are not being matched up, even within albums where the other tracks did match up. Weird.
Some work and some don't, and i don't see any way of fixing this at the moment. Not to mention I randomly have a cloud icon now on my phone next to artists names, and again it's buggy, because only some show this cloud icon, even though I don't have the iTunes match feature turned on within my phone.
The songs not being matched will have to wait for an update. Its well documented, and we're all waiting for a fix. Hopefully won't be too much longer.
The cloud icon means the song is in your master library on iCloud, but not stored locally on the device. Once you play the song, the cloud icon should go away. Delete the song, and it should reappear.
Are you sure iTunes Match is turned off on the phone?
That part about the cloud icon is wrong. I had a single album from an artist showing that icon. I listened to the entire album this morning and it's still showing the icon right now. Must be another bug.
It's funny because I have completely avoided iCloud for all of these reasons. Entirely new service and I guess I've been around the tech block enough to know there were going to be problems early on.
Sure enough I just decided on a whim to jump into the iTunes Match party yesterday, and now I've got a list of issues to deal with. I guess I just assumed that by now they'd have worked out most of the kinks. I was quite wrong. :/
What annoys me the most is that Apple haven't patched anything for months, 5.1 is awol, iTunes Match is still a mess half of my artwork is missing and doesn't display properly on iTunes, my iPhone or iPad. Every second day my iCloud email asks me to enter my password again.
Seriously, what has happened with 5.1? I've been waiting for it for what feels like an eternity, since I hope it'll solve the major sync issues I have with my iPod touch.
It has likely been delayed till the release/announcement of the new iPad, which should be coming up in the next month or so.
I have 3 questions about iTunes match. First, is there a way for me to fix iTunes giving me an edited song? How do I know which version of a song is the higher quality version? Is it possible to listen to a greyed out song without disabling iTunes match?
Hmm nevermind, iTunes Match still having artwork issues in beta 3.. sigh. Not sure why it's so complicated to just download & update the artwork..
It's not just itunes match that has this problem. The OS upgrade not only doesn't show some artwork, it forcibly changed some of it to random album art. I even manage all my music manually, so it was that much more of a pisser. The only way I've been able to fix the issue so far is to remove an album from the library and re-rip it. arghI turned it off on my phone because the artwork was missing on so many songs

I never turned on match or sync via wifi. :-/When I turned iTunes match off on my iPhone and synced my music old school (I use wifi sync since iOS 5) the artwork problems stopped for me
This same thing happened to me. The songs that were matched were tagged appropriately, but when I finally started listening to it, they were the remix version.

so I skimmed through me iTunes albums and I listened to an album I haven' heard in sometime, only to find out iTunes match replaced the album with the fucking edited version!
http://9to5mac.com/2012/02/02/apple...tch-bug-that-matches-explicit-songs-as-clean/Cult of Mac today publicized a bug in iTunes Match that matches explicit tracks to clean versions. The issue resides in Apples iTunes Match software that is sometimes unable to distinguish clean versions of a track from explicit versions due to slight differences. The issue is causing trouble for some, but Apple is already working on a fix.
A 9to5 reader emailed Apple Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services about the issue a couple of weeks ago and received a response from one of Eddy Cues engineers. According to the engineer, Apple is currently investigating the issue and working on a fix. Apple has no interim workaround for users of the iTunes Match service, the email elaborated. iTunes Match is Apples $25 a year iTunes service that matches ripped tracks to iTunes quality and keeps everything in the cloud.
Delete songs from iCloud & match again?now my question is this, what happens to those who have albums that were matched incorrectly with edited versions? are we stuck with the edited mismatched songs? With someone with a lot of hip hop songs I got screwed quite a bit.
Good news on the censor fix. Hopefully they roll out a fix for re-matching uploaded songs at the same time.
When Match works the way it's supposed to, it's a fantastic service. Last night I ripped some CD's I got in that Amazon pricing error mixup, and it was flawless. 30 seconds after the CD finished ripping, the album was matched and available on my iPhone. All 5 CD's matched perfectly. Awesome.
I am still confused about game cloud saves. I must be doing something wrong because it never works for me.
Do I have to manually save the info to the cloud or something?
iCloud support needs to be added by the developer, not every game supports it.
I have noticed that a couple new albums that were initially "uploaded" by iTunes match are now listed as being "matched", The Roots - Undun, and Amy Whinehouse - Lioness.
Without you having to do anything? That woud be pretty sweet if it just repaired itself. I'll have to check my library.
"Erase all content and settings" AFAIK just erases your content (music, apps, etc) from your phone. DFU mode is booting your phone so iTunes can interact with it, but without loading the bootloader. Restoring after booting your iPhone in DFU mode is the same as any other restore. The only benefit is you can downgrade your OS version by restoring via DFU mode. So they're different. I'm not sure why the Apple rep put it in DFU mode though since as far as I know the only reason to do so is to downgrade your OS.Might be a stupid question but is DFU resetting the same as "erase all content and settings" resetting???
Backstory: trying to get rid of this reoccurring bug where my i4 freezes when I try to unlock it, guy at Apple shop DFU'd it and that worked, but cant be bothered to return and go through all that again.
Wow, I've just come to realize what a fucked up mess we have here. I'm talking about iTunes, and iTunes match, and my iphone.
First I had the problem where lots of songs/albums weren't not matched by iTunes match, even though they should be easily identifiable.
Now I'm realizing some really crazy shit on my iphone. I deleted every song from my phone. I then search for artists under my phone search funtion, and it starts showing tracks as being on my phone.
Maybe it's finding these under iTunes match? But I have itunes matched turned off now. I only had it on my phone for literally 10 minutes at one point, and then shut it off.

I didn't have a lot of music so I haven't had any matching issues yet. I've actually started going through my CDs and importing them, matching, and then removing the music from my desktop (but not the cloud). It's been pretty great so far.
What I've noticed about the phone: if you have both 'iTunes Match' and 'Show All Music' enabled under the Music app settings, it will list everything you have stored for music in iCloud. If they've got the little cloud symbol next to them they aren't locally on the phone though, just available to download. It SEEMS as though I've had some tracks download to my phone though I don't know why, but I have to experiment with it a bit to be sure.
If you have 'show all music' off then the categories in the music app will only list things stored locally on the phone. However, if you do a search for artist album or song it will search your entire collection for you (even stuff not stored on the phone) which I think is kinda cool.
Having the whole collection listed was a little awkward at first but im learning that Playlists are probably the best way to manage. You can shift music in and out as you go and only really have to navigate through that list as it builds.
I've already grown to appreciate it. My entire music library is now on my phone, regardless of storage. I'll never again have to think about whether I synced an album or not. It's just there.
I disabled iTunes match on my iPhone. How long does it take for all of these undownloaded songs to disappear? Been a day now. Restarted a few times too.
