Anyone else having issues with iMessage on Verizon? My iMessages to one friend (Verizon to Verizon) aren't going though whereas to another (AT&T to Verizon and vice versa) are.
I also woke up and had no Internet so I'm assuming it's s Verizon issue.

Haha, I thought that might be your problem! I did a little experiment with my mom and let her use her iPhone after I upgraded it for her, and told her to get to the camera from the lock screen.
She took a while but after a few times of tapping it and seeing the whole display bounce upward peeking into the camera app behind it, she tried a little swipe up (like notification center) and was like "AHHH". :lol

No clue then. I only had trouble trying to update my iPhone 4 over the air, because it was jailbroken. Other devices went smoothly.
Try to update them via iTunes (if you're not doing it already).
yeah I definitely need to do that. Totally lazy. Oh well, I'll try Itunes Match I suppose. I just hope it matches most of my stuff. It's only 20 whatever dollars even if it doesn't work well.

Apple says that movies are apart of iCloud now, so I assume that means only purchased iTunes movies and not digital copies redeemed through iTunes right?

Yeah, I was surprised to see my digital copy of Star Trek listed. Once the HBO situation gets sorted, my Big Lebowski copy should show up as well.

That's for auto iCloud stuff. Like iTunes match. While you can manage multiple Apple IDs in a basic sense, you can't switch authorisation to another ID easily. Another example is for auto downloads.
Finally signed up for iTunes match. Was wary because I've heard bad things about its matching capability. It matched like 8,500 of my 10,000 songs and uploaded most of the rest.
I'm pretty impressed actually.
There are like 400 songs that had an error status and now the status has just been waiting since yesterday. I've refreshed it, restarted, and nothing will fix it. The weird thing is that most of these songs I purchased on Itunes. Some others are songs from albums which were mostly uploaded. The bit rates are fine, and they aren't too big so I don't know what the problem is or how to fix it. It is pretty annoying that half of the White Album uploaded but the rest has an error.

My friend has a problem with sound on his 3GS. It only works when he is talking. He can't hear his ringtone, and in Youtube app he doesn't even have volume slider.
What can it be? His iPhone is not jaibroken. He is on iOS 5.1
It's possible that he got his phone wet which made it think that headphones are plugged in. This happened to me with an iPhone 3G. Tell him to start a call and put it on speakphone. If it works, this is probably the case. The way I had to fix it in the end was to go Settings -> General -> Reset all (data? system data?) -> Select the option that only reset the settings and didn't erase any of my stuff.

But it's supposed to show a volume rocker even with headphones plugged in. My guess is that his iPhone's loudspeaker (the bottom speaker) is bust. But the earpiece still works.

I was going to add a bunch of bluray movies that had digital copies waiting for the new iPad but either the digital copy code is expired (wtf?) or itunes isn't even adding them to the cloud!
I suppose I could just use a cable... but that seems so primitive!

- Will iTunes match let me stream music from the cloud, or only download it to a device?
- So pages can put your documents into iCloud? How do I access them on my iMac/Air?

Regarding the first three:
- They should start downloading pretty much immediately
- If you've turned on Photo Stream in the iPhoto or iCloud preferences there should be a sidebar item for Photo Stream, just drag photos there or set it to auto-upload to Photo Stream when you add photos to your library
- iTunes Match downloads the songs on iOS, streams (and of course lets you download) on Mac/PC
Not sure about the last one, I haven't touched iCloud documents yet.

I'm not entirely sure as I haven't use it yet either but I think you'll be able to access them through the iWork section on the iCloud site.

So guys, I just bought an iphone. But I've noticed it doesn't have that "smooth scrolling" in Safari like it used to have on my ipod touch. You know like you flick your finger and it keeps scrolling. (Momentum scrolling?)

I just noticed that in all the other apps, menus and in Opera Mini, the scrolling works like I remembered it. Fast and smooth.

The new iPad is my first iOS 5 device. Safari in retina looks just wonderful, but it can't continue to play a YouTube video when you change tabs? Hahaha, seriously? And people told me that browser was a reason to gimp my OG iPad even more with this OS revision. Wow.
Another issue I have is the scrolling. It looks like vsync isn't enabled and makes fast scrolling very annoying. Here's the post from the iPad thread

Wow, so after subbing to iTunes Match, I finally synced to my Mac and it isn't adding my new playlist to my iPhone, or even giving me a manual checklist for playlists under music in iTunes.
Is this something they changed around? I seriously can't figure out how to update my playlists, feels like I'm back in fucking 2004 or something.
Turning off iCloud and trying to sync with just my Mac to see if I get results. If this is how iCloud/iTunes Match works, it is god damn awful and I feel like I just flushed money down the toilet.
Edit: Wow...it seems like the only solution is a restore. What an embarrassment.

Isn't this a completely different issue than the one in the link? lol
Anyway your playlists should sync via iCloud across devices with iTunes Match enabled, you don't need to sync via iTunes.
Noticed some people having issues updating to iOS 5.1.
My fix was to simply power my phone off, power it back on, and then the update took. I just happened to be in the Apple store the other day, dude came in with the same problem, and that's the first thing they tried.
Something about the update must not like it if there are too many apps open or some such.

ANyone had issues on iOS 5.1 and trying to end calls?
I've only noticed it today when I've been the one putting the phone down, but it doesn't do anything. I select End Call and it just flashes then freezes. SOmetimes I can kill the app in the taskbar, but it still keeps the call open. Only thing I can do is turn the phone off.

Anyone having problems with iTunes match on the phone end? I keep trying to listen to albums, and they go about halfway and then just stop. Nothing will play after that, nothing will download, it just stops. I have one album where the back half is just stuck with the circle icons like its downloading, and I can't do anything about it. Tried listening to other things and it wouldn't do anything. I rebooted the phone and listened to another album and now it's doing the same thing. I got about 4 tracks in and it just stopped.
Man, this is pissing me off. Even when I can get it to work Cloudscrob doesn't seem to be able to scrobble what i've listened to, likely since the songs seem like they're stuck in a perpetual state of downloading, even though they're fully there. What the hell is going on?

If I delete a picture from photo stream, from my iPad or iPhone, what does the picture delete from? Will it still show up on photo stream on my other devices (Macbook, phone, pad), or does it just delete it from that device)?

Fuck. I just told my iPhone to sync bookmarks with my desktop Safari and instead it replaced all the bookmarks on my iPhone instead of merging (yes, I triple-checked that the option to wasn't ticked). I'm about to do my iPad next and I'm scared it'll be messed up to. Is there any other way to export bookmarks from an iDevice?

Is it normal for photos to take 1/2hr+ to show up in the damn photo-stream on over devices when everything is on wifi? And this is for a single photo. I assumed it wasn't working, but they DO eventually show up. It just takes too damn long and makes it useless for some tasks.

how do I set it so every app I download on my iPhone or iPad doesn't end up getting downloaded automatically on my macbook?
iTunes Preferences > Store > turn off Automatic Downloads. There's also the same settings on the devices themselves (iOS Settings > Store).

Actually I've been having this as well the past few days. I guess they're having issues on their end.
You make a change on one device and it updates all the others.
When I sign in on a device it 'merges' (i.e. replaces aka fucks up) the local bookmarks before I can make a change to what's in iCloud. ARGH!1! I have to restore from backups now.
