I'm getting a lot of bugs (granted my i4 is an old piece of shit).
The App Store servers are probably getting hard but DL speeds are slow and glitchy.

Ummm...okay so I lost all my contacts+messages on my 4S when I upgraded my OS through wifi. Did this happen to anyone else here?
Whats the best approach at retrieving this (i don't have iCloud setup yet)? I'm afraid to sync my phone or else its going to sync my deleted contacts.
Do i just restore from backup?

For iMessage, since it's all unified, what is the "best" option for sending new messages -- your Phone # or an email?
Right now I have it as my Phone # for my Mac, iPhone, and iPad -- but I am wondering if my email would be a better choice. Or does it not really make a difference?

Haven't figured this out yet either. I went to the app store and downloaded the Target app. And now what?
It says "Passbook is the simplest way to get all your passes in one place." They should add a "so good luck!" after that.
It's really not designed for you to be making your own passes, the company offering passes needs infrastructure on their end to handle them (i.e. the right bar code scanners).

Get target app. Set store in app. Click "my target". Scroll down. Big button that says "add to passbook".
Implementation is poor so far.
I reaaaaaally hope so. I'm almost dreading the arrival of my phone. I can't just not use it when it gets here.

Sweet! Thanks for the link. I remember doing this last year as opposed to waiting for apples slow ass downloads.
Problem is, it's not much faster. Through iTunes, I have seven hours left whereas with the download, it's seven hours and 42 minutes...
It's a folder on its own, the OS doesnt allow folders in folders.
And the workaround for that got patched in 5.1.1
They're very closely tied with the Chinese government

No. You need to download ios6 gm file then put your phone in restore mode DFU and load it. Then you can restore your files (MAKE SURE TO BACKUP YOUR PHONE FIRST)

I just did a router and modem reset. The iTunes download is moving along at a much faster rate and should be done in just over an hour.
