Well, I'm on the Best Coast so it doesn't have to go as far as yours does.

So it seems that iCloud uploads all pics to photo stream at full resolution? That's whats happening for me. Pretty impressive. Thats gonna be a HUGE server load for them.

Mines with fedex, your not confusing the tracking websites are you? lol.
On that note, I wonder if Apple has to make some special deal with UPS/FEDEX before they agree to deliver 300k+ phones all on one day. Like they literally must have delivery trucks filled with nothing but iPhones going door to door in some places. All of those requiring to wait for a signature. That could slow down their normal operations.

Oh, just realised that I can see it on the T-Mobile-page. "In Bearbeitung", too.

Oh boy... I have a premiere-ticket with number 59k and ordered a iPhone 4S 16GB w. I really hope they'll ship in time. What did you order?

JackEtc said:
Wait, we'll have to sign for the phone?

You usually have to sign for either a UPS or FedEx package. Or if a distribution center is close by, you can contact them and have them hold it for you so that you can pick it up personally if not able to sign for it at home.

Damn you. West Chester is always the last stop before going out for delivery for me. (student at West Chester University). Unfortunately mine's in HK still.

DAMMIT. Now I actually HOPE that UPS delivers it late. Nobody will be home all day until I get home at 2:45.

Shit. Then I have to leave my house from 5:30 to about 7 to help make a surprise party for our neighbor go smoothly (it has to appear that my house is empty except for my Mom and little brother so that my Mom can convince her to go out to eat with them).

I can tell this is all going to go wrong for me.

Around what time do you guys think UPS will deliver on Friday in the West coast?

It totally depends.

Since it's being delivered to my office, we get UPS drop-offs in the AM (about 11AM) and PM (1PM).

But I know some people that have had UPS deliver as early as 8AM and as late as 7PM.

Time to take the day off!

Do unlocked iPhones work with Metro PCS? I'm tryin to sell my 4 to get the 4s and someone who has metro is willing to pay 200 for it. Probably not because my iPhone 4 is GSM :(

If you aren't going to be home that day - 12PM
If you are going to be home all day expecting the delivery - 7PM

EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

As a general rule, you do not.

Ok how about Bay Area, CA?

Do you understand the concept of a series of trucks having to leave a warehouse and drive to various neighborhoods during an 8 hour shift?

It varies by where you live.. who happens to be working your neighborhood that day.. traffic.. the length of the persons lunchbreak, etc.

Where I live FedEx usually shows up at about 5pm.. but that's maybe 3 out of every 5 times.. the other 40% of the time it's totally random.

I see lots of children are getting brand new iPhones I guess..

The truck will come the same time they deliver packages to your residence every other day of the year. Have you never gotten a package? They are always the same time (+/- 30 min).

Not AppleCare+ that needs to be gotten right when you buy the phone. However, they've extended the launch day purchasers an offer to buy it up until November 14

To order it on the website you need to purchase it with new equipment, however the service details only state this in reference to when you must purchase:

You must purchase the Plan while your original iPhone is within Apple’s One Year Limited warranty.

In addition it even lists this in its "What's Not Covered" section:

A pre-existing condition on any Covered Equipment if you purchased the Plan after you purchased the Covered Equipment.

Earlier someone posted a response from an Apple store employee that stated they will sell you the plan and charge you a replacement fee on the spot if you take a broken phone in and are still under the original warranty, which is fully permissible given Apple's above terms.

No, no, no. Your shitty plastic screen protector is picking up scratches because it's shitty plastic. You're covering up a superior material with an inferior one.

You already have the best screen protector you can buy, it's the glass screen itself.

well i could spend 400 dollars to get the glass faces CVD with a mono layer of sapphire. Then i'll feel safe.

I merely asked for GAF's opinion, but I understand the fact that it varies per location. The upcoming 4S will by my third Iphone (I had the original Iphone, currently 3GS and soon 4S).

Well, I never sign in person but I do have the mail staff at my office that sign for my UPS/DHL/FedEx packages. And the one time I had it held at a FedEx distribution center, I signed for it personally. But if you don't then I've never done it.

Rarely have this problem since all my mailed packages are sent to my office - which I then take home later.

So my order is still "Processing Items."

Ordered directly from Apple early Friday morning.

It used to say "Delivers Oct 14 via Standard Shipping" but now it just reads "Delivers Oct 14 via "

I don't know what to think anymore, but it's not encouraging.

Nah, already too far through.

If I left a note in my door window that says something like "If not home, please try next door neighbor", would they listen to it?

I do this all the time. Just write a note in large letters in sharpie, so it is easy to read, and just say:

"Can you please leave package (insert location here, I usually have it dropped off on front porch).

Write your name, date
Sign your name

Yeah, may do this. No way it would get stolen. I'll say that, along with "or please try my neighbor next door".

Also, I hope Siri doesn't censor stuff like Android voice does. If I say "Play 'Niggas in Paris'", I want it to play the right song.

Got a message from UPS saying my phone is in Alaska, which is weird since yesterday they told me it was in Louisville. I don't know what to believe!

Same exact thing happened to my coworker, but soon after the tracking showed it in Louisville.

Yea the tracking number says Alaska too, I'm guessing the website is slow as hell right now, at updating the tracking information.

So my saga with the iPhone 4S.

This will be my 1st smart phone, so naturally I'm so excited I can't think of anything else. So after watching apples press confrence the 1st thing I do is start calling At&t and apple and everyone under the sun in order to make sure I can get it THE DAY of the 14th. I assumed if your pre-ordered online it would SHIP the 14th. As I will be out of town the starting the 14th I needed/really wanted to have it by then.

Come pre order day I see that if you preorder you GET your phone on the 14th. So I half way into the day I hustle to see if I can scrap a preorder together. Except that late, nobody can guarantee me I'll get it the 14th.

So I call an At&t store (I live in a small IL town) and they said that that since they just opened a week ago, and nobody really knows they are there yet. They will be taking names/account info onto a list. And I'm number 7 on that list. They have no idea how many phones they will get in, but as long as they get in more than 6, I'll have one in my hands on friday :)

I've already got the 1st couple hours of work that day off, so I can get mine in the morning just in case anything goes wrong.

Anyone know how many phones the stores usually get in?

SO EXCITE!

Is it in good condition? I'd pay $220.

LOL. I'm just curious if its like 15, or like 75?

lol, I know, just giving you a hard time. Surely they'll get more than 6 in, especially if they are in any kind of high volume area (which I'd think they would have to be in order to set up a store). Good luck! My luck is looking bleak here.
