Oh cool. Didn't know you could take screens. Shozu is an AWESOME application. Can directly upload your pics to Photobucket, Facebook, Flickr, and a ton of other sites directly. It's amazing. Makes uploading pics such a breeze. Last pic is my wallpaper.

my iphone with Apple for a couple of stuck pixels. will they give me a brand new phone or just try and do something with the old one?

also how do you post pics of your iphone home screens?

Just a suggestion, but you might prefer Now Playing (formerly Box Office) for movie listings if you prefer Rotten Tomatoes for reviews. The original version of Movies was good, but now it uses Flixster, which sucks. PEACE.

I used to use Now Playing but it just stopped working all of a sudden. I don't care about ratings too much, I just see the movies my friends wanna see most of the time. Based more on hype than anything. I use the app to find out what times it's playing at.
 
Yay, finally received my case. I LOVE it! :D

Excuse the quality, iPhone camera. Don't have another camera to take a picture with the phone in the case either :(.

There's still links to Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB in there, it's just not the default one anymore.

I like the fact i can see my friends online, too bad there isn't one for PSN. I downloaded the XBLfriends to compare it to 1337pwn to see which is better.

I've had way more stability problems (including the dreaded apple logo reboot loop) when I sync more apps, hitting 4 pages or more. I'll keep it down to 3 pages until Apple releases 2.1 and then I'll try my luck again.

Where did you find that neogaf app?
 
For some reason, my iPhone keeps crashing whenever I try to backup. My last backup date is apparently August 2nd. I thought I had been backing it up since then but I guess not... :(

I've been evaluating both apps as well. I like both for different reasons, and both are promising some solid things in their updates coming soon, so I'm holding out to see which one ends up being the best. With both being free, it's easy to do. :) Right now 1337pwn is my favorite though.

Just click on the "+" and choose "Add to Home Screen" -- then it will put an icon on your Home Screen (or a site-specific one if that site supports it (i.e. Wikipedia, etc.).

The post he was referring to said to hold down the two buttons, which actually does cause a reset. Simply pressing down on them quickly is all you need to do. The screen will flash white and you will have a picture of your desktop.

Also, this made me smile.
 
So my phone is sitting with the apple logo on the black background and the circular thing spinning around at the bottom. Trying to restore the software(had some trouble), but now Itunes won't detect the phone. What do i do?

EDIT:

My computer doesn't even detect there is anything connected under my computer.

If you got the "sprocket" under the Apple logo, it was doing more than just launching the phone, it was likely in the middle of a process... which you interrupted. Which has likely messed the internal OS on the phone to the point where it won't activate the firmware functions required to get the phone to recognize.
Force it into recovery mode (DFU) and do a full and proper restore. If you can't get it into DFU, you borked it.

In his defense, it wouldn't kill Apple to put a freakin' progress bar on that screen.
 
The whole story:

Yesterday at work I got a phone call. Picked up, started talking to my buddy and the entire phone just died. Black screen and no response.

I get home, sync up with the computer which was able to recognize the phone. I did the restore and back to normal. Until later that night.

The phone kept coming up saying that this accesorry doesn't work with this phone and also that I should turn airplane mode on? WTF, I'm at home where the phone normally works and I don't have my headset synced with the phone(synced to the ps3 currently).

It keep doing this all day today hence me doing another restore. During that process, Itunes kicks out the message couldn't complete restore, error with Iphone. Now I'm stuck. Let me try what you guys suggested and hopefully it fixes it.

Usually, you only get that message when something is physically plugged into the iPhone's bottom port and isn't using proper USB communication and transmission protocols. If it's doing it when nothing is plugged into it, you have something stuck in the port and the phone thinks it's plugged into something. No amount of restoring will fix that.
So basically, if DFU mode and restore doesn't fix it, it's BROKEN, take it to an Apple Store or something.

my phone had the same problem, just try tapping on the top and bottom of it, turns out it had dust plugged in it and it works fine now

Compressed air works good, too, just so long as you use it WHILE THE PHONE IS OFF.
 
Well now we have a new problem. The phone went about the restore but has been stuck at the restoring from backup portion. It's about 90% done but has been stuck there for about 30 minutes. Am I going to get screwed if I go about setting this thing up as a new phone instead of restoring from my backup?

From what I've heard the last bit takes the longest.
 
While playing with the new ESPN site last night, I noticed that all of their podcasts are also available through the interface and stream directly to the iPhone. The more I play with it, the more impressed I am. Really a great option for sports fans with an iPhone.

Apple, AT&T sued for over-saturating 3G network with iPhones

A San Diego-based lawsuit filed late last week alleges that Apple and its carrier partner AT&T have knowingly oversold iPhone 3G, promising fast speeds only to see a glut of customers bog down the network with devices that themselves are flawed.

The 18-page complaint from customer William Gillis primarily relies on Internet reports of problems as the foundation of its argument and asserts that leaked information contradicts public statements by either of the defendant companies regarding 3G network performance.

Gillis particularly criticizes AT&T. Although company new media representative Brad Mays has gone on record as saying the iPhone 3G has been "performing great" on its 3G network, the plaintiff counters by pointing to claims that the handset has required too much power. In tandem with the "high volume" of iPhones sold, the sheer signal demand has bombarded AT&T and in many cases kicks users down to the EDGE-based 2G network even when 3G coverage is guaranteed, according to the lawsuit.

Apple and AT&T also misled customers about the practical speed of EDGE with the first iPhone, Gillis also claims, though here he points to ads exaggerating the speed rather than technical issues.

And while Apple chief Steve Jobs is believed to have sent a direct e-mail to one iPhone 3G user confirming a bug fix for the software end of the problem sometime in September, Gillis adds that none of Apple's packaging warns buyers of the current iPhone that its performance might not match customers' expectations.

A disclaimer "points out to them to ask questions, to futher investigate, or [for companies] to simply disclose complete and accurate information about the product," the lawsuit reads. "This is especially true in the case of the speed and performance of an expensive [device]; an important feature in any electronics device purchase."

Since many customers are potentially affected by the alleged flaws in AT&T's network and its interaction with Apple's phone, Gillis is seeking class action status so that every AT&T subscriber in California plagued by slow or intermittent performance -- which could measure into the "thousands" -- can earn compensation if they've suffered through a sub-par 3G experience.

The complaint would have Apple and AT&T pay this restitution as well as punitive damages. Both firms would also be stopped from pursuing the same marketing and public relations tactics that triggered the filing, which demands a jury trial.

Neither Apple nor AT&T has publicly commented on the lawsuit, which is the second lawsuit in as many weeks concerning the same performance hiccups.

That is fantastic news considering that those podcasts are blocked off here at work.
 
There are a ton of good Japanese language apps on itunes. Now I can practice while on the train with my phone.
 
sorry for the double post, but help. I usually buy stuff online using Visa gift cards especially stuff on itunes, well today i was on the app store on my iphone and i thought what would happen if i purchase an app for 10 bucks, even though my gift card only has 2 bucks left on it. Well it seems that i was able to download it even with 2 dollars left on my gift card. So you think apple will bill me or something?

They will lock you out of your iTunes account until you update the billing info.

I just got the Red n Black limited case yesterday. I have to agree 100% with you. Love the added weight of the case and the leather has an awesome feel to it.
