I won't treat this as news since it is basically a rumor, but I'd think that this is the slow season and for the first time Apple has been able to produce enough iPods to meet demand; it doesn't neccessarily mean that iPod sales are down, though many people might wish that.

I don't have one. I express my individualism by buying ANOTHER COMPANIES PRODUCT!

I think it's cause people are finally realizing that the iPod shuffle and iPod photo suck.

Ya only like a couple people at my school have a shuffle and I clearly let them know that they are a slave/tool to/of a brand. Why get a shuffle when you can get another MP3 player with the same amount of memory for cheaper and it actually has a screen?

more cheap than an Ipod Shuffle with the same storage and it has a screen, FM radio, voice/radio recorder.

I believe the phrase you're looking for is "mo' cheaper". I own a 512MB MuVo TX myself and think it's great. The screen is actually quite useful and it comes with a beltclip and wristband fo' free. :D

but is it compatible with Itunes? Cause itunes is "more better".

I like how Apple's closed architecture is a feature. You have two main options with the MuVo - Creative's incredibly bloated software, or just drop the files on the device as you would with any other drive in Explorer. The later works well for me.

i don't care about any of that stuff though, i use Itunes already, have an Ipod, so if i was in the market for a flash player, id get a Shuffle because its already compatible. It'd be a complementary player anyway (going to the gym and shit) so why not get something thats compatible with what i already use?

Because getting too acclimated to iTunes may wind up leading you down the path of a less superior MP3 player. I'm not saying that the MuVo or other players are definitively better, I just think iTunes can sometimes blindsight people from other options.

because the other ones have little screens on them and are really ugly :/

people already say Ipod is so inferior to all these other MP3 players (Iriver) but i don't see it. I love my ipod, never had any problems arise with its functionality, battery, or sound quality. I want something that will let me throw all my music on it and listen to it whereever i please, and Ipod gets that job done just fine. Im not some audiophile who gets all anal because he can hear a slight tingyness to the bass on the right earbud or some shit like that.

They're devices the size of cigarette lighters, is aesthetics really important at that point? I fail to see what's so "sexy" about the Shuffle. Then again, I suppose I prefer function over form. I find the LCD on the MuVo to be useful for EQ adjustments, browsing through folders, switching through FM stations, etc.

If were to do things over again with an HD-based MP3 player, I'd probably go the iPod route, although I'd really wish they would implement an FM tuner already and are, obviously, a tad pricey. In the flash-based arena, I just find the Shuffle to be incredibly overrated, but that's just me.

Ipod and Ipod photo are great MP3 players, people just dislike them because they're so mainstream now. It's Ipod shuffle that's the epitomy of suckiness (when it comes to flash based players). And I don't really see the attraction to Itunes, what makes it so great?

Oh and just for the record, I would rather get this MP3 player than the Ipod or Ipod Photo:

Why? To be different from basically the rest of my school, because it's cheaper than a photo and only like $20 more expensive than Ipod and because I like the look of this one more (although this one is more opinion than the other reasons)

is the prahse "more cheaper" wrong?
I mean it, because the english isn't my first language and it just did a translation on-the fly when I wrote it.
ex: X es Mas barata que Y (is the correct form on spanish to say that a X product cost less than Y product)
Mas = More
Barata que= Cheaper
So blame me for try it.

And yes I enjoy my MuvoTX 512 too, even if some people think that's a taiwanese radio :lol

Nice looking interface. I was tempted to pick up the 1GB flash player Samsung makes with the color LCD, but the screen was pretty tiny and the battery life wasn't too hot.

Yeah, dont let these assholes get to you though -- it's an easy mistake to make.. When you use more, you don't need to add -er to the end of something.. "more cheap" or "cheaper" is correct.

Yeah, the "more" isn't necessary and would be considered grammatically incorrect, but this is the Internet, where English is nobody's first language. :D

The shuffles will probably clear out if they price drop them in conjunction with the release of the rumored 2 and 4 gig shuffles.

It was probably planned that way since the unit was obviously overpriced, they get initial sales they get either way and then move it to a better price point when they launch the larger capacity units

I'm surprised this thread hasn't seen a visit from the "that's what you GET when your MP3 player can't play video" iRiver crew.

To add, it's better to just use "cheaper" or "better" no need for the word "more".

The Shuffle isn't even worth dissing anymore...

I want a HD player that has a removable battery. Simply have no interest in built in jobs...if I did I could buy a 15 gig'er for $180 Canadian tomorrow. Someone told me that Creative offers up such an option, so that's probably where I'll be looking. Probably be a while before I snag one though. Until then I'll continue to slug along with my Minidisc player.

I know about a million iPod owners. Not hard to, I live in NYC. And none of them is an iPod Photo owner. Weird... or maybe not.
