Is Blizzard going to show a new game at BlizzCon?

Following WoW from it's first announcements, I can remember such a huge uproar when gnomes were announced as the 4th alliance race... Many of the same arguments against pandarens (they were jokes, they didn't play a major role in any warcraft game, etc).

Doesn't change the fact that Chen Stormstout was one of the founders of Durotar and thus fathers of Thrall's horde. It makes him a rather important part of Warcraft lore, and all Mists did was give us a deeper look at him and his people... just as BC gave us a deeper look into the Blood Elf lore.

A deeper look at some thrown together Chinese stereotypes, sure. I think nearly every dumbass moral platitude said by NPCs and bosses on Timeless Isle are ripped from Z-tier kung fu movies.

*shrug* Mario talks with a very sterotypical Italian accent and has for nearly 20 years. Dwarves have been an 'offensive' mix of Irish and Scottish since Warcraft 2. Pandaren portrayal is nearly identical to how they were first introduced in WC3, only expanded upon.

At this point changing them because they are stereotypes would do much more harm to the playerbase than leaving them. If you find it offensive, that's fine. People are allowed to be upset by it, but it's hardly the most offensive thing out there or arguably even in WoW itself.

I think there is a good chance their big things this year are movie and SCII expansion trailers or something. I doubt they're making WC4, because they're already doing 2 RTS games with HotS and SCII, Diablo just had an expansion and so did Hearthstone. If they have a new game, it'll probably be something small, like Warcraft remasters or maybe like a Blackthorne remake or something. My dream game would be like a Dragon Age or DarkSiders type of game set in the Warcraft universe. Really put that Warcraft IP to work and make a good game without any of the MMO stuff holding it back. Maybe they'll make the "Wacraft Movie the Game" or something.

What are the chances of Warcraft 1-3 remakes opposed to Warcraft 3 HD Remaster being shown at blizzcon?

Warcraft remakes with WOW assets maybe. They made it sound like it was just a couple of people looking into possibly making those games run on new machines and nothing more, but who knows.

I'm almost hoping it's a deluxe Warcraft RTS remake that is essentially all three in one big game. Maybe move and shift around a lot of the older stuff in WC 1/2 to better match the look and feel, and the way the WC-verse has evolved and grown since WC3/WoW came on the scene.

I could see the 'heroes' being featured more prominently, the addition of hero units entirely into WC1/2, etc.

We know from last year's Blizzcon that they were talking about updating the games so all 3 would work easily on a modern computer, but that it was currently a small project by just a few people. If it's a full remake of the first three games, it's going to be fairly early in development even if it is announced (we're talking a couple years away at least).

Earlier it was mentioned that the team on Titan was working on a project related to Titan so it may not even be Warcraft remake related at all, it may just simply be a slightly updated version of Warcraft 3 to start us off.

I don't find them "offensive," just boring and lazy.

This would blow my mind but I don't know how they go about the story since WoW has been their storytelling platform since it launched.

Expecting Legacy of the Void and nothing more other than a potential WC3 rerelease.

The thought of a WC4 announcement is dead and buried until they get to a finishing point with WoW. They are not going to have 2 games based on the same lore going at the same time when they have shown with WoW and it's soon to be released xpac that they really can do anything with the lore in a single game.

Given the Warcraft movie will be adapting Warcraft 1, a re-release and update of Warcraft 1-3 would be apt for the next couple of years.

Eh...I mean, I guess I don't have a major problem with a re-do of WC1 and or WC2, but it wouldn't be able to be some quick HD upscaling, the games would have to be completely remade in order for it not to end up flopping I think. As much as they were amazing products, they are VERY early RTS's and it shows, not just UI functionality and the like, but on a basic level the balance isn't there and the variety in units is nonexistent.

I'd rather see the stories retold with no attempt to keep the game 'the same' as the originals.

I just hope Legacy of the Void has some big announcements. I'm ready to play the campaign next year.
But probably in 2016

I'm sure it'll be a new game announcement, to distract everyone from wasting 200$ on a poorly sound-balanced Metallica concert.

Because the concert you don't hear about until 6 months after buying tickets is totally what people spent their money for.

People bought tickets way before Metalica was announced. Closing ceremony isn't important, there's always a random band. No one is going there for that.

I need Warcraft & Warcraft II remakes. Believe!

I'd die. I love those games.

But I wouldn't want them in 3D. I just don't think they could capture the "charm" (i said charm) of the sprites in WC2. Or maybe they could. Who knows.

Either way, Warcraft 1+2, hell yes.

Warcraft 1 full on remake might make more sense if the upcoming movie takes place during the first invasion. It would also clarify the lore retcons like Garona.

Alternatively they could do a splinter timeline with the iron horde, showing what happens in that future.

Warcraft 4 aint happening

Im crying to sleep

Fuck you blizzard. Youre barely doing anything to revive sc2 but im sure you aint aking warcraft until wow is fucking dead

Yes im mad.

Fuck you blizzard

W3 HD would be amazing, but a while off, Blizzard has been touting smaller projects with smaller teams so I can see it happening for sure.

I'm expecting info on a new D3 expansion to be honest, with a release in a year or so. Possibly info on a Hearthstone expansion for release in 6 months or so, and Warcraft movie info.
