Is Cyberpunk 77 worth 50$?

JokerMM

Gay porn is where it's at.
I heard they fixed alot of shit in ps5 and i need a break from elden ring
How's the story? That's the most important part for me

It was worth it for me. I enjoyed the game but played on a good PC so I had less problems than a lot of people. Good atmosphere, interesting characters - flawed for sure but I had fun. I hope they do more with the franchise.

In it's current state on next gen hardware, I absolutely would have paid full price.

It's second to none in visual quality, it's what watchdogs tried to be. If you like cyberpunk even a little the world and story line is a wet dream.

That said, I got it on PSN for $19 a week or two ago. I can't imagine you'd have to pay full price for it in April 2022.

Irrational goons that will never let go of their grudges aside, it depends on what value money has for you.

If you think $50 is justified for a great game that's not entirely new, yes. It's worth it since the game is great now. And since you say the story is important, that's absolutely top-notch. The storytelling is excellent, the acting is great, and it's not too weighed down by certain trends.

That being said, you can expect it to go on sale fairly often, so if you're on the fence, you can simply wait for that. It's only going to get better, after all.

lol, no. Absolutely not.

You should be able to find a ps4 copy for cheap. I found one for $20, Special Edition, like a month after it released. 3rd party seller on Amazon.

Is it worth 50 bucks? Absolutely, I purchased the game thrice and still think I got the money worth.

Should you buy it at $50 nowadays? Probably no since you can easily find the game under 30 bucks.
( You must have missed my thread when it was 5 dollars at Best buy several days ago.)

It's not worth $50 not because it's a bad game, the game is sick but paying $50 for a game that released a year and a half ago doesn't make sense, you should get it cheaper then that somewhere.

If you like immersive sims, then you should get it ASAP. Otherwise, you can get a better deal soon.

The story is just disjointed and horrible. Hell no would I ever tell someone pay $50 for this and I got it day 1.

$5 bucks max.

I got it day 1. And even with all the patches and fixes, it's a NO.

As much as some might not like the story, it is the most completed aspect of it, everything else is fundamentally flawed on a structure level. Is it a good game? Absolutely yes. Great? No.

Wait for a sale op, you aren't missing out.

In its current state, I'd hold - not because it's $50, but you'll get a lot more (I hope) for a lot less within a year of planned updates.

It's got a very rough-around-the-edges story, nothing near the caliber of The Witcher and some really ass backwards and overwhelmingly confusing mechanics.

But at its core is a compelling loot, shoot and level system that I'm enjoying revisiting. It's just… not there yet holistically.

I'm hoping for a Destiny-esque turnaround with expansions and updates over time. But it'll take just that - a lot of time.

Also a day 1 purchaser and I completely agree with all of this, especially the "fundamentally flawed" part.

Even after the updates it's just not a great RPG because the skill point system is still wonky, at best, or broken, at worst. Nor is it a great open world game. The city is beautiful but is almost entirely devoid of anything interesting to find. It's your bog standard Ubisoft icon checklist world. I kept waiting to find minigames to play, or braindances to experience but they just don't exist. The only thing you really 'discover' in the world are the same NCPD "crime in progress" events that play out the same.

It was okay but not $50 okay. If I were looking to buy now, I probably wouldn't pay more than $20-$25, digitally.
Less than that for a physical copy.

It can be found for cheaper but it absolutely is. Its a fantastic game I spent all this past Sunday playing and was having a great time. Great characters and stories and a very rich and detailed world. I'm very much looking forward to jumping back in after my work week.

It might be worth $50 to some people but you can frequently get it for way les so at this point just wait until it goes on sale. I paid like $14 a few months ago on PC to test out my new build and didn't feel like I got my moneys worth.

I partially disagree it would be nice if there was more to engage with in the city but some of the side quests have great stories tied to them and random things happen, like I got a text message from a surprise someone and was invited to have sex with them cut scenes and all.

definitely. i paid full price and have no regrets. is the game amazing and perfect? no but i had fun with it. this was at launch and well before 1.5.

the main story is short but quite enjoyable. the side quests are good too. if you want a deep rpg with lots of customisation or a GTA like experience being chased by police then it's not for you. there is a lot of stats, gear, perks thrown at you but they don't really do much.

the city is amazing to look at but there's not much to do. it feels dead and the NPCs are zombies. the NPCs you fight have the most dumb AI.

it might sound like i'm hating on it but despite these issues i enjoyed it. the story/characters are the main thing about this game and i loved driving around night city exploring and listening to cool music. i'm going to replay it when the expansions are out.

Rpg with a lot customizations? nah.

All the stats and perks are just stat sticks. There's no additional skills that add gameplay variable other than double jump.

If you play melee, it's the same from beginning to end. All your perks is just, "add +10% dmg" "add +10% stamina", there isn't a single skill that has a different movement set.

Big guns small guns it doesn't matter, it's all about lvl and stats. Once you enter an area with enemies much higher lvls than you, 1 bullet from a goon will kill you. This is a fundamental flaw in cdpr games.

Definitely not 50. Maybe 20.

If you've waited this long though, you can hold out a bit longer. CDPR should make some more improvements and the DLC should drop eventually. Id buy then.

I'm pretty sure I know which character you're talking about (a particular Corpo you meet early on) and she's literally the only one who does such a thing. You get not-so-random text messages from certain related NPCs (like Jackie's mom, or your love interest), but they're heavily scripted and eventually stop happening.

In fact your example kinda highlights my complaint. With that one encounter we get a brief glimpse of what could have been. Chance encounters, making deals with Corpos or Nomads or Streetkid gangs, building coalitions, random hookups (both romantic and social), dates, bars, minigames, braindances. But we got... bars and joytoys. That's it.

That's not to say I disagree with your comment on quests. Some of them are really well done. I really enjoyed the Kerry Eurodyne chain despite Kerry being an annoying prick. River Ward's chain is great as well. Panam's chain was really good, I just got tired of Saul being pessimistic all the damn time.

I never played the game till after the next gen update. It's fantastic.

I think some people here got touched wrong by their priest when they bought this game at launch.

Uhm, yeah? One of the most amazing games in recent years. The story and quests are absolutely phenomenal. I played it on PC with zero issues and if it's anywhere near that, it's worth full price easily. More so than most games.
