I'm not into subscription services. I'll just wait for a sale. I bought into the hype for One Punch Man and Attack on Titan (to a lesser extent). The only thing I've loved recently is Dr. Stone which oddly enough I blind bought for $4.99.
Get excited!

It was the first and only episode of the show that actually got me excited, but overall I don't understand how much crazy hype and love the show is getting. It's not bad, but in my opinion it falls into the lot of the same tropes and it really doesn't explain a lot of the things that are happening so it just kind of makes me frustrated. When I am more sober I will try expanding on these thoughts.

Frame of reference: Aside from some of the cringey fan service I thought the anime adaptation of Akame Ga Kill is better.

I haven't yet seen Mugen Train since I wanted to watch some other stuff before revisiting, but I'm genuinely excited since I find the set piece interesting and hope there's more...acceleration...to things to rope me in.

Also the poll seems to be broken.
Still not sober

Where is the "No" option ? There are so many more anime episode from the history of anime that top this scene .

The first one that came to mind for me is Bleach Epi 54 . I get it Bleach had become so bad towards the second half but the peak has higher high than most . In episode 54 where Ichigo rescued Rukia in front of all Gotei 13 when hope was all gone , one-shotting the Vice Captains and immediately confronting Byakuya was the coolest scene back then . Cue Ichigo theme Number One OST for maximum hype

The next one would be Stardust Crusader final fight of Jotaro vs Dio in episode 47 . IMO it's one of the best fight ever written where it's a battle of wits on top of power . From the
rush punches , time stop , amazing VA, magnet trick , knife attacks , heart stopping and Dio tricking Jotaro into punching him towards Joseph
, it's really peak anime .

Great anime and manga. Definitely a rushed ending though and I feel a lot of people hate the sidekicks because they aren’t fully fleshed out characters with backgrounds until way later. Movie was peak animation with Broly

Maybe I'm too old for shonen anime. But I think Demon Slayer is so average. I really don't understand why it's so popular. And oh my god, that coward kid is insufferable.
But having said that, I think the scenes that show the demons' backstories are really touching.

Anyone know why the Hulu version of Demon Slayer has a much shorter opening than say the Netflix or Funimation versions? I imagine it’s just the TV version since it’s so much shorter, but I do like the full opening a lot. As for the characters, Zenitsu is okay so far. Sometimes I hate him and sometimes I think he’s funny. Inosuke is a much better sidekick to Tanjiro, though. At least he isn’t a coward like Zenitsu.

Yea I think that's just the US TV cut.

I like it a lot, I rarely get into anime but demon slayer is pretty good. The reactions video is super cringe tho, I cannot stand watching people overact for the camera

When it was good bleach was hype as fuck, the ost was fabulous in that one.

And even when it was bad, it still had some incredible episodeslike this one

You say this, and then you immediately praise Bleach?

Confused Emma Stone GIF by SAG Awards
I mean, the soul society saga is pretty great.

And for your information, i'm loving demon slayer, but the question of the topic is not if i'm loving the damn thing :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

Well we're talking about a single episode here , not the entire series .

And also the end of Mugen train is a better episode than Ep19 if it counts , and it only gets better (manga reader here) .

I don't see how anyone can say one single episode is the best of all anime. That is just crazy talk to me. That is like asking me what is the greatest metal song of all time. I couldn't tell you because there are too many great songs.

Ugh, Deemon
One of the most overrated pieces of Japanese media by people who need to experience more Japanese fiction.

Good character designs though.

Seriously tho.

I can't find anything about the show that makes it unique or special, or even standout to a large number of anime that follow the same trope.

This anime is great for those who are unfamiliar with anime, but anyone who has spent an extended time watching multiple series would acknowledge that this anime is just an anime with a new fresh coat of paint that strikes the eyes of non-anime fans.

Legitimately, I give this anime props for getting people to watch anime.

So many of my girlfriends friends, who are far removed and beyond from a weeb, started watching anime after stumbling on it on Netflix.

So for that, it's great.

But I dont think it's even close to a top 10 anime of all time, though it definitely is a well made anime.

Finally got to episode 19, it was very good, and I thought it was certainly the strongest episode so far. But it is not the best anime thing I have ever seen.

I was glad the whiny kid was not in this episode but for a few seconds, that guy has almost made me stop watching the show.

I watched the whole series based on this recommendation, was disappointed. The patterns on the characters’ kimonos was really cool. Nice animation, not a bad series at all, but as others have said it just feels like shonen anime the anime. I will have to revisit cowboy bepop now to get those real feels.

Even among just Shonen anime, which some people think is all anime, it's not even close to the best episode. Really nice animation and decent emotional beats in the fight scene is far from enough to compare to peak anime, it's just the best in an enjoyably presented but merely above average Shonen anime.

If you're looking just at episodes containing fights, Kakashi vs Obito (Naruto) and Netero vs Meruem (Hunter x Hunter) are just two of many fights that are better.

If you're looking at all episodes, many hundreds of episodes across series surpass it. Hunter x Hunter alone has at least 50+ episodes I'd put above any Demon Slayer episode.

The animation is great, which isn't a surprise given the studio, but outside that it's pretty average.
Ultimately it's a show for kids.

i was not even impressed by the animation since in classic ufotable fashion the 3d backgrounds match dick shit with the stiff rotation of the camera.
The effects and shit are pretty tho, as per usual with ufotable.

If we are talking about studios managing the budget using CG and effects i find Jujutsu Kaisen to be much more impressive.

But yeah, whatever, this anime is way more popular than anything else and i don't get the appeal besides some kind of cool character designs and the flashy effects.

Episode 1 , actual good animation of rotation of the camera.
