Is Harmony of Dissonance considered easy?

Hello,

I'm curious about what the masses think of the difficulty level of this game. I'm not too far into it yet but I've had absolutely no problems with any of these enemies yet. 2 bosses included.

As well, does anyone know what the percentage cap on this game is? Cause I know it's not gonna be 100%. Castlevania games never are.

Loving it by the way. :)

It's unbelievably easy.

It's also unbelievably shitty.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

The ONLY good that came out of my purchase of HoD, was selling it back on Ebay for over the price I bought it.

How does it compare to the other GBA Castlevania games? I've almost beaten Circle of the Moon, I'm assuming, because I just beat
Death
, so I went out and picked up the double pack.

It's by far the worst. Just a terrible, terrible game.

I got the full percentage on HoD and don't have much of a desire to go back and play it again. I did enjoy it though and think it's definitely one of the most accessible CVs out there and one of the most fun to just pick up if you feel like smacking some monsters around. Plus, it really does look eerily similar to SotN.

Aria of Sorrow for life, yo. Need a DS for DoS but don't have the money. :(

It's the worst out of the handheld CV's but it's still a solid game.

I agree. I think there's a lot of hate towards it because it's "not as good" as the other versions, which isn't totally fair. It's still a good, solid game. Not extraordinary, but good. It's like eating steak and potatoes: you know what you're getting, but it's still a good meal. Sure, it's not a fancy feast like AoS, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. :)

200%. I'm at 198.3% and I've already beat it, I'll get the last 1.7% (I also need 1 more relic) before starting AoS. Yes it was incredibly easy.

Metroidvania's are like pizza: even when they're bad, they're still pretty good.

I really wouldn't mind Nintendo dumping Metroid games on us at the rate we've been getting the Castlevania games...
Metroid II remake and Castlevania II remakes you fucks!

the collectibles for the room in HoD is one of the most pointless sidequests I ever done.
And the horrible thing was that that (
not counting playable Simon Belmont in Boss Rush)
) was the best part of the game.

Easy doesn't even describe it. The bosses have terrible AI, as all they do is move around and attack from time to time. Then add to that the Holy Bible + Ice Spell Scroll and the difficulty becomes even more laughable.

IMO...

1. AoS: better music, better castle, better story than any portable CV
2. DoS
3. CotM: really good game, not made by the Iga team IIRC, the card system is cool, the music is not bad at all, much better than HoD... too bad tha game has been retconned by Iga [HoD should have been instead]
...
4. HoD: the black sheep of the family

Easy and boring. The weakest of the three GBA Castlevania games.

The collection would have been perfect with CotM, which didn't get a fair shot because of the poopy GBA screen, and that third game with the blue haired kid -- Euphoric Cacophany of Flatulence, or whatever the hell it was called.

Circle of the Moon has been retconned? what does this mean?

It means that, just like Sonia Belmont and Alucard's affair with her, it didn't happen in Iga's misogynist timelime of Castlevania. How does he make up for it, then? Easy, highly effeminate man. Alucard was the only one that seemed right for it, though.

Well I'm not disliking the game at all yet so I'm not too worried about it being the worst.
That and I haven't played a Castlevania game in over a year so playing this one first is a perfect idea. Probably wont be disappointed at all because of that.

What is the point of collecting all the stuff for the room??

I do admit that the bosses are incredibly easy. I have died once though, but in my own defense I wasn't really paying attention at the time. Lots of turbulence on the plane at the time (and I watch Lost so planes are more fun now :). I sit in the back. The tail is the safest place).

This double pack is the best gaming value I've gotten on a handheld.

I got the Double Pack today..I've gone through HoD before and I don't know where all the hate comes from. I thought it was a better 'sequel' to the PS Castlevania than CotM was..didn't really like the card system in that.

Have fun!

edit: Oh, probably the furniture room? I don't remember what happens (if anything) if you get everything there. Either something or nothing happens when you get all of the furniture.

I don't think there's a point, just an extra task to do (I got them all).

Have fun! What room are you talking about? Are you putting body parts there?
He's talking about the room for the collectibles.

Don't tell me when. But am I gonna meet up with a merchant sometime in this game? I'm collecting all this money and haven't seen anyone yet.

I am playing HoD right now and am NOT enjoying it as much as CoTM. I get lost so easily
I am pretty far around %160 but I cant figure out what to do. I think i need an item to jump off of walls or crush through the ground. I am finding alot of rainbow doors I cannot open. I have MK and JB's ring. Anyone know what i should do?
.

One thing I really hate about this game is I constantly need to go to the menu to change equipment. Especially with opening doors. When I first got MK's ring I wondered around the castle forever looking for the door to open. I had tried every single door in the castle three times before I realized you had to have it equipped. It never tells you which doors are needed for which "key." REally bad execution. Another thing I hate is WHY DO I HAVE TO EQUIP THE CRUSHING STONE TO DESTROY THE WALLS? Why cant it "just work" with any of the other power ups i can add to my whip. Again something that could have easily been solved.

I also really hate the "two castle system" It never explained how the teleporting rooms worked and how to use them.

AoS better be much better or I will regret my double pack purchase.

AoS is much, much better... don't worry about that...
AoS > DoS > CotM >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> HoD [IMO of course]

Also, I thought the whole thing with the
true final boss and the last ending
was pretty vague. I had no idea it even existed until I
faced Dracula in Boss Rush Mode
, haha. In the end I had to look at a FAQ to figure out how to get it, felt a bit stupid.
