Is it “Time” for Back to the Future IV?

I’m just thinking. Everyone from the original cast is still alive. Seems like the ideal time to do a final Back to the Future movie.

We’re in 2020 - 5 years after the events of 2015 future that never happened.
We don’t have flying cars, or hoverboards.
Since the original plot focused on past and future generations of Hill Valley residents, I’d love to see Marty’s kids be the focal point of this, with the original cast playing a supporting role.

P.S I know Zemekis and Spielberg said they’d never do another.

You can’t be serious. Chris Lloyd is 82. Fox has some pretty advance stages of Parkinson’s. Good luck getting Crispin back. Wilson, Shue, and Thompson might be down for a sequel but that would be about it.

You know what I’d like to have? A NEW-brand NEW-movie about time travel that might have been inspired by BTTF but is totally it’s own thing.

We ain't outta here in ten minutes, we won't need no rocket to fly through space
No. Not every classic movie needs a modern sequel / reboot. Just make a new time travel movie, no-one's going to care if it's similar to BTTF.

3 finished the saga nicely, anything beyond that is corporate necromancy. It's probably being looked at for reboots though being such a popular pop culture item, and jumping back and forth between pre woke and modern eras seems like something they'd like to explore

No thank you! I would like to remember the original trilogy characters the way the were. There are plenty other time travel movies and they can make others.

Yeah but it's an all female reboot with Melissa Mccarthy playing a female doc Brown and some black girl playing Martha Mcfly and the plot is about her having to go back to the 60's and a lot of the movie is spent on her struggles because how racist and sexist people were back then, and there's also a scene where a MAGA hat makes it into the past and the bad guy (who is a sexist/racist) picks it up and is like "That's so bitchin, Now that's something I can get behind".

In the end they get back and are like "we finally made it back and things seem normal!".
"DO THEY?!?!?!" says the other character as she picks up the newspaper to reveal a blonde orange skinned dude with a red hat (who is the grandson of the bad guy) was just sworn in as Hill Valley's major.

I think we are too far gone for sequels to 80's movies with original casts in general. 1980 was 40 years ago. I'm not looking forward to the Ghostbusters sequel. I don't need to be reminded that actors in my favorite movies from my childhood are all old now even if they were young then. I don't need to be reminded of my age.

Sure but make it a prison movie with Uncle Joey and he is on death row but trying to escape the prison in time.

Just introduced parts 1&2 to my kids this weekend. I'm not sure what the "Back to the Future" recipe would be that wasn't covered in the "still holds up" original or hasn't been copied endlessly in other media. Just a replacement Marty and Doc Brown with a similar script wouldn't do anything for me.

It would almost have to have 2020 kids find the machine and realize they got jipped out of the hoverboard/flying car future of Part 2 and are actually in some sort of Biff-like dystopian future that they have to correct. Which obviously has both been done I'm sure in the Trump era and would just be sour grapes with hamfisted wokeness that no one could tolerate actually watching.

There are so many other 80's properties that could benefit from a modern revamp, but not this one. And overall, the track record of previous ones is pretty dismal. Cobra Kai is about the only one that really has any artistic merit IMHO, maybe Tron. But I could stand to see some Krull, Last Starfighter, Buckaroo Bonzai, Willow, Labyrinth, Weird Science, or Last Unicorn type properties getting revisitied. The stone cold classics like Gremlins, Goonies, ET and the like just need to be reshown periodically for the enjoyment of all.

ANd Michael J. Fox is not able to make another movie. He is sick.

Would only make sense if the plot involves Fox finding a cure for Parkinson's in the year 3000.

He doesn't.

So he has it throughout the whole movie.

I like the premise, but we all know how absolutely terrible it would be, regardless of who made it.

Fucking no. With how shit this generation is, its better to stay that way. Its one of best movies ever, no need to shit on the franchise with today retarded standarts.

Can You Imagine What SureAI Is Going To Do With Garfield?
It would just be another "Kids find Doc Brown's lab and learn of what happened" like Ghostbusters Afterlife.
I have not heard a single thing about that movie since it got delayed.

I predict bomba.

Of course not, it would be woked up like every movie is required and all the charm and comedy would be sucked out.

All though if we had talent in Hollywood it would kind of be cool to use CGI and tech to insert actors into the 1st/2nd movie scenes and make a new movie mixed with the old movie. The technology has progressed so much since Forrest Gump did that it would be interesting to see them try and do something like that on a full movie scale.
