Is it just me or is there precious little hype for Assassin's Creed: Syndicate?

I think I'll pass on syndicate, I'm not a fan of the setting. Quite happy to wait it out for next year's Japan setting and ninjas.

And here I was hoping for modern day sequences to make their return....

My hype for this game could not be lower. I'll probably buy this only to feed my 980.

I was thinking that this year is the year that the franchise fatigue will finally hit AssCreed, but as Unity was god awful product in nearly every way, it downfall will be much larger than I anticipated.

Godspeed to all the 2000 Assassins Creed developers around the world.

Good. These shit games need to stop selling on name only. Ubisoft has turned Assassin's Creed into a joke and there needs to ne some accountability.

Did Unity sell 10 million...I highly doubt it. With no free bundles this year we will see how relevant AC really is. Xbox One bailed them out last year.

Well about that

I'll probably pick it up when it's either on sale or I can get a B2G1 free assuming it's not a total mess.

I'm and AC fan and bought all the non-handheld games but felt burnt by 3 and Unity. I like the setting and characters though, and videos look good so far, but I'll wait and see this time before throwing down.

Still think the series peaked with 2. 1 was a great opener with few poor choices. 2 took the poor n made them good while keeping the good parts good still. It then turned into same old shit like wwe

Just love that internet hyperbole.

I am not a fan of the AC series, played a few hours of 2 but never got hooked, picked up Unity a week ago on the cheap for the hell of it and it's honestly a really fun game to me.

Granted I didn't have any expectations for it or anything and I am well aware of all the bullshit that was going on with it after launch with bugs and whatnot but the game is pretty solid at this point. I'm not saying it's ok that they released a product with that many and that blatant of issues but as it stands now with patches the game doesn't have many issues outside of personal opinion. For example I've seen multiple people comment on how bad the free running is while personally I think it works great in this game. It is a little cumbersome getting used to X/O (PS4) for up/down free running but in the end I would rather have those multi button controls than a "one button/push stick in direction" free run setups others have suggested.

Either way I'm quite interested in Syndicate at this point even though I'm still not even halfway done with Unity, I look forward to picking it up sometime in the future and seeing what I think of it.

Oh and the future/modern setting stuff, can't comment on what I haven't experienced but I will say that the way they handled it in Unity was lame. Like really? I'm just some random "gamer" and this secret society has decided to come to and ask for help? Even if the thought is that they're recruiting many people in this way it still seemed like a dumb way to do it to me.

Nah i dont believe it, i think the game will sell well, maybe not as well as Unity, but more than 5 million.

if i learned something is that GAF is not very good at predicting sales.

I'm not surprised at this revelation at all =/

Ubisoft really doesn't give a fuck about the modern day stuff anymore; and therefore I won't give a fuck about AC >_>
The dumbest part of this is that they're just giving in to the series' haters' demands by doing this. These are people who have never liked this series no matter what anyway. Thanks to them, no one gets anything they want from Assassin's Creed now!

I honestly keep forgetting that these games are still coming out. I heard about Syndicate back at E3 and then it got dropped from the radar.

Granted, the last time I played one was Black Flag when I got it for free with my laptop.

I haven't played an AC since Black Flag and I've got the option to get Syndicate for $30. The setting and overall Arkham-look to it has swayed me I think. I had zero hype and looked into it a bit more. Seems good at a discount.

Lost interest after Black Flag. Unity was ok, except for the part that one trophy glitched and prevented me from obtaining my platinum (Watch Dogs did the same sh*t).

From what I'm observing, you can buy the Collector's edition almost everywhere while I type, which was never the case with the previous installments. Also the quality of the editions drops (stuff that you get), while the prices are going up (thank you ubishop)?!?

Black Flag was amazing and should have its own franchise.

I think we need to go back in time. The more modern, the less interested I get. I want to see China, Ancient Rome, or something like that.

I used to be a big fan of the franchise, but I'm burned out on it. I literally got bored just watching the recent gameplay videos. I couldn't even sit through it without skipping segments, and I think that speaks volumes. Honestly, it needs an entire overhaul, especially from a mechanical standpoint. I also think it'd help if the new game actually looked graphically superior to the last, but somehow it actually looks worse.

Well, spoilers are out, looks like the modern day is just
Unity 2.0

Are you serious!?

Goddammit. I almost believed. I was about to just cancel it off of Amazon and wait for the price drop and it turns out it already shipped.

Syndicate's gonna be such a let-down, just like Unity. I can't keep letting Ubi suck me in.
