Is it possible for Dogs to be trained to use a sand box to litter in like a cat?

Years ago we got a puggle and we bought a grass mat and used it indoors. She would use it but miss a lot cause they never like to go in the exact same spot. My daughter started having burning itchy eyes and I trained the dog for outside. It was hell and I wish I never got the damn dog. We found out my daughter was highly allergic to dogs after a year of having the dog. We found the dog a new home and spent 10`s of thousands of dollars getting the house dander free again. I believe having the pee mat in the house cause my daughter to become allergic. No matter how much you clean them it's going to effect indoor air quality.

you do know dogs have to go outside, right?

there's a reason why you see people walking dogs a lot more than cats. dogs have a shit load of energy and they need to burn it. so if you're gonna be keeping a dog inside and not letting it go out for a walk then you don't deserve to own a dog. it'd be nothing but pure cruelty having a dog locked up in a house.
Unless you bought a house for $85k in 1988 like my parent with a giant yard for dogs to run around: then honestly daily walks aren’t needed or like a farm. When they can sprint back and forth. Otherwise yeah if you live in a condo walking is the way.

Id allow a pet to shit inside my house if it uses the toilet like the rest of us.

Walking my dog is good for both me and her.

No dogs are dumb as shit literally compared to cats.

If only Cats would listen then would make much better search and rescue companions in my eyes. Vision, moving, access, quickness.

They fully understand when we’re telling them something as well, just zero fucks. That’s a cat.

So you prefer an emotionally shallow animal?

I have 2 American bulldogs and trust me the last thing you want is one of Boris or Winston's massive steaming turds curled out in your living space.

A few years ago a friend of mine was dogsitting the Rottweiler at his sister's house. He'd go over there a couple times a day, walk the dog and leave fresh food and water.

One day he couldn't make it over until the afternoon cause of work. He stopped by my place and we headed over to take the dog for a walk before heading out.

The dog dropped the nastiest turd on the floor in the middle of the kitchen. We literally couldn't enter the house without our gag reflexes kicking in and and almost puking all over. He finally wrapped like 3 shirts around his face blocking the smell and scooped the big wetass nasty shit which smeared all over.
We had to leave the windows open for 2 straight days before the smell even began to clear up.

The point is you don't want a dog shitting in your house.
