Is it true that Yoda farts in Episode III?

Some super nerds were talking about Star Wars at campus today and I heard one of them say he read some review online that said Yoda farts. Yes, I repeat, he said, "Yoda farts."

I did a double take, broke my way into their conversation and was like, "WHAT IN THE FUCK? IS THAT TRUE?"

He nods.

And then I said, "BECAUSE IF YOU'RE LYING, I WILL BITCH SLAP YOU."

I'm pretty up to date to recent grumblings online involving big movies, but this completely flew under my radar. I know we have some Star Wars nerds here who can confirm or deny this. But - holy shit! - if Yoda really does fart in Episode III, I hope George Lucas dies a slow, painful death.

HOLY CRAP. IT IS TRUE.

I just read this on the front page of AICN about a Episode III review on TheForce.net...
... And, apparently, Yoda farts... sigh... Why not go in and add him crapping his pants in EMPIRE STRIKES BACK or add a ripping fart when he dies in JEDI. If you're going to make him a joke, why not go all the way? There you have it for you who don't want massive, massive spoilers.

WHAT IN THE FUCK. REALLY. FUCK YOU GEORGE LUCAS. FUCK YOU.

Online review, this early? :p

Actually, I do believe this is just from some fan speculation, and a rumor. Though that's all I've read about it, others may know more. But from what I've read he does it during a scene to escape the assult of the clonetroopers on Kashyyyk. Basically he reverts to simpleminded Yoda we see in ESB. I don't remember the exact details, but eh, it certainly hasn't be confirmed from what I know.

You know, I would laugh my ass off if there was a solemn moment in the Jedi Council and then Yoda just lets one rip.

I mean really, after Episode I and II I don't think Lucas really gives a crap anyway.

Uh, that review is from the Editor of TheForce.net, man. They're apart of IGN if I remember correctly, so I don't think it's some fan speculation.

Yeah, he confirms it on their boards too...

Does Yoda really fart in the movie?

"In the rough cut, he did."

That is so goddamn lame. Man, I hope George Lucas becomes a leper.

Didn't he fart and burp in Empire Strikes Back or am I imagining things?

Perhaps in the NEW SPECIAL EDITION that Lucas released on DVD to help smooth out the farting sequence from the prequel trilogy.

LeBron loves his girlfriend. There is no other woman in the world he’d rather have. The problem is, Dwyane’s not a woman.
So Yoda does have a little of the dark side in him.

Did you, or did you not read about the context of the fart? :lol

No and I don't care. WHY IN THE FUCK WOULD HE EVER FART LOL EMOTICON I AM STAR WARS APOLOGIST.

This is lame beyond words.

Supernerds were talking at school. You talk about it online. Whos the super duper nerd!

Oh, I'm a nerd. For sure. But these were super nerds. The kind that are socially awkward, have no style and were unfortunate victims of accidental pregnancy.

Anyone who has met me in real life will tell you I'm none of those things.

Even if he does it to pass himself off as a simple-minded fool, that's still fucking pathetic.

And kinda funny, in a WELL-THAT-ABOUT-WRAPS-IT-UP-FOR-STAR-WARS way.

Any apologists come in here trying to rationalize this one need to get beaten down.

Oh come on, I think it's stupid as well. Yoda wouldn't do that much. I would rather not see it. But Christ I'm not going to whine the fuck about it. That's the shit I get sick of.

Haha, exactly. I think we need an official "WELL THAT ABOUT WRAPS IT UP FOR STAR WARS" thread.

Maybe, I'm just in the attitude to not care. And secondly this was from a rough cut.

Who cares if it's from a rough cut or not? Here are two reasons why Star Wars is now dead to me: George Lucas thought it was somehow a good idea to show the clip to a Star Wars fan and also, just the fact that he even created a sequence where Yoda farted is pathetic. I will always know it's out there, on the cutting floor or on the reel.

And thirdly, where the hell is ManaByte?

Yeah, where is Jeremy? I want to see him come to Lucas' defense for this one!

Not really. If thousands of idiots are going to shell out hard earned cash to see that rubbish, let 'em. I think myself and the rest of fucking reality will take the fact that we have social lives, casual sex and more money as a consolation prize.

I think this is pretty much the smoking gun that proves George Lucas has indeed gone batshit fucking loco or whatever term Penny-Arcade coined a few weeks ago.

Just read the spoilers on TFN's forums. WTF a PG-13 version of the movie?

He makes the rest of the movie sound REALLY good, but Harry hyped the hell out of AOTC, saying it was the best SW since Empire. Whatever...

Of all the prequels, THIS is the only one I really care about. Too bad if it ends like this....

Haha, what a wonderful world you live in. Nonetheless, I agree with you on that the move is silly and I don't know what Lucas is thinking. But I'm at the point where I just don't give a flying shit about Lucas' little corny addings like Jar Jar and what have you. Basically I'm still able to watch any of these films and get the same story I'm looking for. The same Star Wars I'm used to. *shrugs* If that makes me a retard, so be it. It doesn't matter to me.

I have neither casual sex nor an abundance of money :(

Maybe you should stop watching Star Wars! But you have a social life, right? One out of three ain't bad.

Spoilers read at own risk:

Yoda's on the wookie planet, Palpatine has just given the directive for all clones to turn on the Jedi and kill them on the spot. Yeah, most of the Jedi are wiped out, but the ones on Kasshyyk (the wookie planet) turn to Yoda, and Yoda plays dumb like he did at his entrance on Dagobah during ESB ("away with your weapon, I mean you no harm!") kinda stuff.

Anyways, in this context, Yoda PURPOTEDLY farts. This was a rough cut of the film, and the general theory is that this is a bunch of ILM guys being stupid and fucking around, and that this WON'T be in the final cut. The PR guy Pablo Hidalgo said something along the lines of "sometimes the ILM technicians get bored and do stupid little stunts like this."

Yeah I don't want it to happen, but if you were to read all the rumors floating around it's pretty obvious that this most likely won't happen anymore than N'Sync in Clones.

BTW (more spoilers):

I forgot to add that this coy play by Yoda doesn't work, and he apparently has to haul ass out there even making a decapitation or two.

Don't you drool over every comic book movie that comes out? That doesn't exactly put you over Star Wars fanboys.

It's ILM's fault, but it's just a couple guys fooling around, according to Pabs Hidalgo.

I really don't think this will make it in the final cut. If it does, I'll eat my wookie action figure.

No. Only Spider-Man. Sam Raimi + Spidey = Awesome.

Also, Spider-Man got me laid. Suck on that Star Wars nerds.

I do like the Batman flick, though. Looks hawt.

I don't mean to alarm you but you have dogs on your face
This news makes me happy. I love the original trilogy, but after the last two SW movies which I despised as a whole compared to the OT, I just want to see EpIII be as bad as possible. And Yoda ripping a big juicy one is heading down the right path.

The editor of theforce.net who saw it rated it just below The Empire Strikes Back and said it was the darkest of the six films. It will be great.

Didn't you see all the gag shots they had on the TPM/AOTC Bonus DVDs?
This will be one of them.

Yep. The NSYNC scene in Episode II is the best part of the movie!

I agree. I want to see Han Solo travel into the past and team up with himself as a child, Jabba the Hutt battle scenes, references to current political events, 'Who Let the Dogs Out' playing during a scene when Yoda starts fighting, droid on droid sex, and Will Smith.
