Is it true that you should only use soap on minimal areas of your body when washing?

I use it all over my body, I've got a hairy body and I sweat everywhere if it's hot x I work out

I focus on armpits, butt, crouch most importantly though

I squirt body gel on a wash cloth and go to town scrubbing my body head to toe. Ain’t got time to differentiate areas, just scrub it all. Feels great, smells great.

Adams ruins soap
Yup, showering and soaping up each day isn't necessary. Be your own judge; if an area with folds like your groin or armpits feel dirty they need cleaned but everyday can be way overboard. Showering is important to get that running water on you to get dry/dead skin quickly and easily removed but it's not needed to be an everyday thing.

I'm on an every other day schedule now, no one says anything to me about it and I work closely with lots of people.

Showering daily and the infinite amount of hygine products are propaganda from the soap industry pushing their product hard

I’m not going to reply to any specific person as to not sound rude, so I pose a general statement, what does it matter if washing everyday is overboard? If it even remotely reduces the risk of someone smelling your funk, a rinse with a shower w or w/o soap can be as quick as 5 min.

Not sure that's hard proof, boss.

I have some skin disease that I totally forgot the name of, but most soaps and body washes causes rashes and a burning stinging sensation on my body. I was told to use dandruff shampoo and conditioner as a body wash instead. So, every time I shower I use head&shoulders on my hair, beard, and body while I use body wash on armpits, groin, and buttocks. All I can say is the shampoo really works great and everyone, especially girls, find my skin very soft and smooth and always compliments me on it. I've been using this method for over 5 years and I never get told I stink unless I go to long without shower or sweat a bunch.

I shower every other day and I only use soap on my crotch, pits, butt, chest, and upper back

Everywhere else just gets water washed, unless I spilled something, got super dirty, sweaty etc

Never had any issues

Maybe it's just me or it's a cultural thing but I prefer to smell a natural clean odor on someone rather than synthetic, over-the-top cleanliness resulting from copious amounts of perfumed soap, perfumed shower gel, deodorant and some extra perfume on top of all that just to make sure. I personally use neutral shower gel and deodorant without added perfume but I do spray a natural smelling cologne/edt/perfume of my choice.

I actually even like the smell of clean sweat on another person. In some cultures there's a huge social stigma attached to any and all natural human odors.

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.
I'm guessing these are the same people who go to Magic/anime/video game conventions and make the entire place reek of BO. I was about to say "you know who you are," but actually the problem is that you people don't realize how bad you smell to the rest of us. Mouth-breathing crunchy ass scallywags, the lot of you.

Just thinking about it makes me want to vomit.

Motherfuckers make it sound like its some herculean task to rub soap all over your body. Why do so many people look for any excuse to avoid washing they ass?

Lotion doesn't put good bacteria back onto your skin after you've destroyed it with hot water, soap, and scrubbing.
Jesus...you'll make new one. And you think moisturisers don't take that into account? This way you won't be complaining about dried skin and you won't be stinking.

Just wash yourself properly.

I moved from soap to Syndet months ago and has been a great improvement since it has a 5.5ph and do not dry your skin...there are a lot of brands but this is great :

I don't like the smell of perfumed/scented stuff either.

That said, they have unscented/without-perfume soap, shower gel, deodorant, etc. which you can use for cleaning yourself.
A dislike of perfumes/scents is no reason to not properly clean

Hygiene advice on the Internet is usually wrong in my experience. Like those people who said you should only wash your hair twice a week, except that made my hair look disgusting.

There's a transition period... shampoo dries out your scalp, which causes it to overproduce oil, which makes it get greasy faster

Nah man, shower every day and use soap. The only thing I'm frugal with is shampoo, which I do every few days because otherwise it dries my hair. But hair varies so much from person to person so advice on that matter should be individualized.

There are folks in GAF that shower more than twice a day iirc :/ Not sure if people will agree with you op.
2x a day isn't that crazy if you exercise etc.

Eew, gross. Wash yo' selves for real dudes, no one deserves to be subjected to your swamp-ass. Sounds to me like y'all are just finding excuses to be lazy and no wash up properly, Jesus...

Sure twice is ok. But more?
