Is Mick Jagger the most unmistakable vocalist?

He's not the most technically talented singer, but he's possibly my favourite singer. His voice and style is so distinctive and I think his has gotta be the most easily recognizable voice around.
I threw up in my mouth a little... and then your wife didn't want to make out anymore. It was awkward.

Anyway, everyone knows that Gary Young is the most talented singer of the last century.

My mother is a speech-language pathologist and yes, she once said that Jagger sings through in a very unmistakable way by something he does with his pharynx and what not. I don't know man, she knows her stuff. And seeing all the hail marys in this thread makes me even more confident that she is right.

The only challenger I see is Axl Rose:

See, he fits the OP criteria of being "unmistakable" and being popular enough, but he does it by being steroid Jagger. He's harsh and there's doubts about him being a tenor (yes) or a baritone (no). The fact remains that he got crazy range and his unusual way of singing is hard to replicate. When you listen to a prime time GnR song, there's zero doubt it's Axl singing. Very unique voice. Great band too!

I would never say Axl Rose lol. I think that he sounds a lot like Bruce Dickinson in parts of November Rain.

Btw, what the hell was up with him? In the Welcome to the Jungle video he looks like a teenager:

Then in the Paradise City one he looks like a fat Val Kilmer, and they're from the same album

Here are my favorite vocalists that you can't mistake for anybody else:

Chester Bennington
Keith Flint
Adam Gontier
BenjaminBurnley

I think its Barry Gibb from the Bee Gee's personally.
I picked him as a background vocalist in Dione Warwicks 'Hear Breaker' and another song I can remember right now, before I knew he had anything to do with them. Very distinct voice.

EDIT: The other song was Diana Ross' 'Chain Reaction'.

That would be Joe Cocker, David Bowie and Leonard Cohen. They also have in common that they're not under the living anymore.

All the popular vocalists build their image on an easily distinguishable voice.

Snake Oil Salesman
Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Tiny Tim.

Me and my family play a game every Christmas where first one to shout the name of the singer when a new song plays gets a point.

All of us confuse Frank Sinatra with Perry Cuomo.

You mean to tell me Zack De La Rocha sounds more like Perry Cuomo than Frank Sinatra?!

You can defiantly tell it's him. I saw Rolling Stones @ Desert Trip in 2016 great shows.
