Is the dissection of frogs banned in the state of California?

I read somewhere that a bill was suggested in 2019 in California which would ban the dissection of animals for science classes in schools because it encouraged animal cruelty due to the fact that many of those animals (like cats) were euthanized in order to be dissected.

So did that bill pass or was it rejected? Are schools in California still dissecting animals in anatomy classes?

What time is it?
I still have unpleasant flashbacks about dissecting a cat in high school. My lab partners were too squeamish for most of the affair but they gladly went to town with the saw when trying to open the skull.

There's nmo point in dissecting frogs for educational purposes when there's so many technology available today in classrooms. They can dissect the frogs on a pc.
Just my 2 cents.

Boys need to kill something, it's part of the pathway to being a man. They should make kids raise a sheep for a year, like maybe the 8th grade, and then kill the sheep and process it.

A cat????!!!??? What country? I remember doing a frog, a baby pig, and a cows eye. The smell of formaldehyde made the entire school reek for days. I can still smell it like 20 years later.

In my country it's been banned since +10 years.

What if you're vegitarian? Would raising and killing a cabbage be okay ?

I don't believe in vegetarians. I knew one once, he confided in me that he eats meat just not everyday. It's a fad, people pick it up and drop it. A few people through sheer willpower wreck their bodies with religious zeal trying to be vegetarians, most will eventually quit or in reality they eat meat often enough that they should not be classified as vegetarians.

Vegetarians are just annoying soy people who took all the empathy they should have for their fellow human beings and instead apply it to animals who don't have a human moral framework. Basically they are a bunch of animal worshipers that you should be suspicious of.

Vegetarianism is a eugenics conspiracy to keep overly empathetic people from breeding.

We had those too but the more advanced classes also dissected cats.
Not sure if they still do it but I live on the other coast.

In high school, we dissected large breed crickets instead. It wasn't due to anything legal, it's just the science supply distributor charged way too much for prepared frogs, so they went with something cheaper.

Not sure I could do a pet type animal, that would be more difficult. I honestly had never heard of schools using cats.

We did a cow eye, frog, something else really weird I can't think of as of this post, and a cat. And one team got the pregnant cat so there was a kitten to be removed and learned about. I definitely mangled that fucking cat but my lab partner was the teacher's daughter so I was immune to anything. I think I literally cut it's tongue out and used it as the "lamest joke you immediately thought of" around school that day.

WTF is up with you cat people? Why have I never heard of this? How traumatic would that be as a kid with a pet cat? Pigs are closer to human anatomy anyways, are these states with feral cat issues?

What if you had a pet pig ? Of frog ? Or pet cow eye ?
In the end it boils down to just being a biology class not a pet owners class .

I've only ever dissected a cow eye

My highschool biology teacher threatened the class with a cat dissection, though, we had to get an B average on a test to avoid it

I found it funny that the other girls thought we saved a life... No the cat's still dead, we're just not the ones opening it up

We did cat too in my high school (California). I'll always remember it because of a bet to eat part of it so not only do I remember the smell but the taste as well!
