Plus a terrific teaser poster. Can't wait for this movie, only a year away. Wes is on fire too imo.

In case you guys didn't know it is a return to stop motion.
"Isle of Dogs" is Anderson's first stop-motion animated movie since 2009's "Fantastic Mr. Fox." The story is set in Japan, as the post makes abundantly clear, and follows a young boy's adventure in search of his missing dog. Earlier this year, Anderson said the film was "less influenced by stop-motion movies than it is by Akira Kurosawa."
Link.

I take it that this film will avoid whitewashing complaints by casting Japanese actors for the human characters and making all of the Hollywood types talking dogs.

I wish he wasn't doing another stop motion film but I've loved every film he has ever made, without exception, so I'm in.

Also, it's set in Japan, so that's pretty cool.

Fantastic Mr. Fox is one of my favorite films ever that I too often forget exists. (Really bummed about missing its theatrical run.)

Super hyped about this one.

Dude what the fuck with that cast....Did they have any budget left for the actual movie?

I suspect that most actors will accept a lower contract for a voice acting role than they would for a regular acting gig. Less time needed, less energy expended, no need to travel to a bunch of different locations, etc. It's a much less strenuous endeavor.

Plus most of them worked with Wes before so that helps.

Surprised I had to glance down the roster so far to see 'Bill Murray' tbh

It is Wes Anderson I would be shocked if he wasn't in it more then anything.

My friend's obssessed with Wes Anderson movies, so he's gonna be pretty hype for this. I was wondering myself when Wes was gonna come back.

Courtney B. Vance? :O

I always felt like Anderson movies didn't really have a lot of diversity(once heard someone describe him as Tyler Perry or white people). Maybe some of those criticisms have been getting to him. I enjoyed grand budapest hotel, and I'm looking forward to this since I really like Fantastic mr fox

I think Woody allen has Wes anderson beat. Coen brothers too.

i'm stoked. wes anderson should always make stop motion since he always gets the actors to act like they're in stop motion

Looks hype. FMF was great and I can't wait to see this one. That poster is pretty dope.

Ehh. Say what you will, that's actually a pretty diverse cast for a movie of this scale.

I have a feeling this is going to tank at the box office, just a feeling.

Hope it does well though, I'd love to see stop motion come back more and I love Wes Anderson's work. The cast is insane too, I hope it has a good marketing budget.

Grand Budapest was by far his highest-grossing movie, so increased interest may give Dogs a bump, though Mr. Fox did get more than Darjeeling. It's just that we expect Japan-centric stop motion films to flop, heh.

Also they probably do mates rates cos everything they do with him is always Gold and even Norton seems to get on with him haha

I hope people don't get high for the new Wes Anderson movie, that just seems plain disrespectful.

In what way? As long as you can still devote the necessary attention while under the influence to grasp the film and take it seriously, I don't see a problem with that.

On topic, very psyched on this. Insane cast.

Super stoked for this. I never really understood Wes Anderson (especially his early-mid stuff), but he's been nailing it lately.

Fantastic Mr. Fox and The Grand Budapest Hotel are some of the best films of the decade imo.
