A Palestinian television channel has broadcast footage purporting to show Israeli border guards beating the teenage cousin of Mohamed Abu Khdeir, who was abducted and killed earlier in the week. The footage is said to show Tariq Abu Khdeir, 15, being beaten after he was detained during clashes in Jerusalem on Thursday. Israeli police say the incident occurred during the arrest of several demonstrators, some carrying knives. The boy's family deny he was involved in the clashes

“This is a video edited and biased that does not represent the events,” police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said in a statement to ABC News. Rosenfeld said he didn’t know whether Abu Khdeir was the teen being beaten in the video or whether he was armed himself. Abu Khdeir’s parents said they recognized him in the clips from the clothes he was wearing, including his baggy pants.

I generally see more people sarcastically mention the bolded in threads like these than people actually accusing other of antisemitism. It's getting a little old since there is real antisemitism out there and I feel like it's become a bit of a mockery.


On topic, this is incredibly disgusting. Someone should post the before and after picture to see how drastically he was beat up. I saw it on a website somewhere but I don't know where.

Israel is winning, they are eating up Palestinian land as we speak, creating facts on the ground that they know will be logistically impossible to remove, barring civil warfare.

Until recently there were a lot of posters that tried the criticism of Israel = anti semitism card. It has died down recently, but I see it plenty on non GAF discussions still.

I do not believe those two photos are of the same person. His face got smaller and he lost 5 years of age after a severe beating. His eyebrows also thinned out. You cannot literally beat the stuffing out of a human.

The video is bad though.

You are quite despicable though. Imagine a Neogaf member who created a thread for every despicable act by Muslims every time it happened. And then they completely ignored, the difficulties and reality of their lives because it did not fit a narrative that made them the bad guy.

You are a big part of the problem. And it is super gross. The Guardian article does not show a before and after. You went to some weird ass place to find a random picture of a person, who was traveling to Miami based on the photo, and linked that to a before photo. Pathetic and sad.

Because you really do not have to hunt for bull shit lies to make Isrealis the bad guys. there is plenty of straight up violence from that side that there is no need to lie or be blind about it. But your complete lack of putting together a cohesive story and looking for imaginary reasons to hate Israel shows a level of prejudice that is beyond being reasonable.

No, I think the word "despicable" ought to be reserved for the soldier in the video kicking the shit out of a teenager as his parter sits on his back. It's telling that your comment on that violence is basically expressed as a caveat, an aside, and most of your ire is directed at the OP for a slightly sensational thread title.. Yeah the video is merely, "bad", but the guy who posted it is "pathetic, super gross, despicable,prejudiced, sad and a big part of the problem"

They are both despicable. The violence shown in the video, and the focused spite for a group of people or country that the OP has shown.

No they are both problems. People have shown enough disgust in this thread over the actions of Israeli soldiers that I did not feel the need to present that side of the argument once again. Although I sort of did. I think it was completely over the top. But as the minority descent I thought I could bring something to the debate.

There is room to criticise demonisation of IDF and related police forces, but picking on an obviously humorous title probably isn't it. Saying the OP is a big part of the problem is what moves your from Balance Warrior to Concern Troll. I am all in favour of Balance Warriors, but this OP is not part of any problem at all.

Wow what a silly interpretation of what I said. Just ignore all logic, and the actual context of the thread, and invent the dumbest thought ever as my argument. If that is what it takes for you to feel real, and a part of a discussion, then I hope it works for you. It is not only ignorance, but also a thought process where the person you are debating did not say things you wanted them to say. You imagined an alternate universe, and you are debating with someone who does not actually exist. It could be fun, but... I disagree, but that is a completely reasonable argument. I am picking on the op based on a consistent fucked up perspective on the world, that I find to be destructive. You are making very reasonable comments, but giving the benefit of the doubt to the op.
