... in trying to put the blame on Abu Graibh on a few ill-trained soldiers, deflecting accusation it was part of an official policy.

That's my sad conclusion.

I still have a hard time coming to grips with the reality of the things that were immortalized. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it, it's just too twisted.

part of the political game is that politicians defer or evade responsibility. The sad thing is that the majority of Americans lets them get away with it.

I saw this coming a mile away. No way did these people act all alone without commands from higher ups. I mean if they did why are they taking pictures of themeselves in the act. This was a classic Psy Ops strategy to use the muslims frear of humilation to break them.

Saturnman, I so wish you were American so I could question your patriotism.

I'd probably be already arrested without any charges and be left in jail for months for 'security reasons'. :lol

In Canada, there was a torture case when some peace keepers stationned in Somalia captured some thiefs and tortured and killed one of them. The case got public because the idiots had taken photos as a 'trophy' and those got leaked.

The difference in Abu Graibh is the sheer amount of abuses and all the photos, coupled with frustrations with the Bush administration, ordering for stronger interrogation techniques and wondering how far they can go.

Wow, this is some classic Spec-Ops right here.

BTW, "Spec" is short for "speculation."
