Easily one of his best roles and acting chops. He nailed it. He was robbed IMO
he lost to Daniel Day-Lewis in My Left Foot,Who was he up against?
Dicaprio didn’t win all those years because other guys were simply better. Same thing has happened to cruise.
Love it or leave it......He was robbed IMO
Yeh this is the thing when people say that someone should have won an Oscar. It might have been a great performance but you also have to consider the others from that year.Who was he up against?

Why would he win a Razzie?I’m surprised he hasn’t won a Razzie. His recent performances have ranged from bad to subpar, all with the trademark running. I haven’t watched the movie though, but I do know it’s highly regarded and Oliver Stone’s second best movie behind Platoon.
Don't forget "fat hands" in Tropic Thunder.I just don't like Tom Cruise that much He's the same guy in every movie and he always comes off as this impervious character with no vulnerabilities.
The few Cruise movies I like are Vanilla Sky, War of the World and The Edge of Tomorrow (Live. Die. Repeat.), and I like him in those movies because he has vulnerabilities that get explored. In Vanilla Sky he gets disfigured, loses the girl, loses the job, loses almost everything and has to come to terms with all of that. In War of The Worlds he's kind of a dick and struggles with being a good Dad. In Edge of Tomorrow he continuously dies and has to learn from his mistakes.
I like that version of him, but most of his movies are the version of Tom Cruise that I can't stand, which I think is more like his real life personality.
Some of the stunt and physical feats I hear of him doing are insanely impressive though, so I'm not taking that away from him. I just don't care for his acting, mostly.
