I started taking pics and my camera battery died. I didn't even manage to capture all of my PS2 collection let alone DC, PSX, etc all the way back to Colecovision. It's just as well, I didn't really want to have to dig that stuff out anyway. As you can see, I have shitloads of games that I haven't even opened yet.

Or at least give him Amped 2 instead. +1 for having Mr. Mosquito. And generally speaking, for having games you like and play rather than owning turds for collecting purposes.

Geez, those collections are rockin and all, but do you guys like going outside sometimes?

LoL biggest screenshot ever!! :lol

I'd like to know how they AFFORD them all too! Geez!

You can get some really good deals if you know where to look, where to work, where to go, etc. :) I got my most of my collection from working at a game store for the past eight years, and rebuilt my PSX Japanese game collection after going to Tokyo for a week back in 2001. Picked up 50+ games when I was there CHEAP.

I won't say it's the reason for anyone here, but in my experience kids get games now like I can't even believe. When I was younger gaming wasn't as big, but most people who are young have always had games as one of the primary gifts they get for things. Almost everyone I know who buys gifts for young adults/teens buys them games at some point. That was just unheard of to me even when the NES was huge.

Not a knock on anybody, but seeing these huge collections makes me see how much happier I am now that I'm not in a "must have everything" collector phase. Now I just go for whatever really interests me, which thankfully for my wallet is not a whole lot.

"Big stack of blank discs next to the Dreamcast section *snicker"

Haha, that's actually just poor positioning. I have every DC game that's worth owing IMO. Not featured is a pile of GBA games (50 or so) and several hundred PC games going back to the very early 90's.

As far as the size. I've been getting / buying games since I was 5 years Old and i've never sold / traded in any of them.

For the last 4-5 years most of the games I buy are used, from flea markets, ebay and I get a lot of good deals. I take fair advantage of the buy 2 get 1 free sales and what not whenever possible. I probably purchase on average 5-10 games a month and of that maybe 2-3 I pay full price for. Having a huge backlog means you rarely ever 'need' anything the day it comes out just because you're still working on games from a few years ago.

My random justification though is that games are my hobby and my job and I consider it my own personal research library.

Oh, also not features are Gauntlet and X-men arcade boards, DDR stuff, Samba De Amigo, Taiko drum master et al.

and point of reference i've been growing this collection over an 18 year span. At one point it all needs to go to it's own 'home' but I just moved so everything is just sort of stacked anywhere I can fit it for the time being.

Pictures of the shittiest quality took with my PDA under very bad light circumstances.

I've never sold anything!

I have every game I've ever had, all the way back to my Vic 20 and C64 stuff, save for D&D Warriors Of The Eternal Sun for Genesis which some bastard never returned to me, then moved away and joined the military.

My game collection would be tripled had I never sold anything.

Same here, and in some cases I don't even want to think about it. XD

Currently have something like 100+ PS2 games, 100+ PSX games, 90 or so Genesis games, and am too tired to count the games for all the other systems or take pics right now.

Only what counts....

My PS1 collection is pretty healthy in quantity, but im afraid its plagued by the many green stripes of doom.

Hey Defensor! Get your ass in here and show em your beautiful PS2 display!

Christ!

I understand that you guys all find games on the cheap, but I still can't understand how you have the money to by all this stuff. I can barely pay rent and all I do is eat out every now and then, forget about buying consoles or games... ;_;

Live at home, with parents who pay for food, utilities, etc.... Okay, at least that's my situation. :\

As I have told many of my friends: I have owned every game worth owning this gen.

...but OH have I slowed down recently... UH!

My IGN database was pretty up to date as to all the games I've owned and played... but I've fallen behind... I may try to complete it again one day. I'd much rather look at the game I've owned rather than the games I own NOW. ...basically because it's MUCH bigger.

Anihawk i didnt see no crystal castles or dragster in ur atari collection..j/k i remember having them atari games.. I dont have any collection of games because i used to borrow them from defensor...hehe When ever he got a new game i be trying it out after he finished. Im also looking forward to see the added collection of ps2 games you have defensor..

AniHawk, you forgot to post your GCN collection.

Gamecube is gone. I sold the system and games because I needed the money in the short term. I knew it'd be a long term loss, but the hours I was getting from work just weren't cuttin' it.

I got Amped because it was kinda cheap ($4), and my sister likes snowboarding games. I would've sold it, but she likes the game.

+1 for having Mr. Mosquito.

Actually, my sister bought Mr. Mosquito. Fatal Frame, DBZ: Budokai, GTA III, Mr. Mosquito, and a few others not shown are hers.

And generally speaking, for having games you like and play rather than owning turds for collecting purposes.

Thanks :) I ended up selling plenty of games when Game Rush had that $5 thing going on.

I used to have a lot more: Fable, Halo, Kingdom Under Fire, Munch's Odyssey, Whiplash!, PGR, PGR 2, Crimson Skies Brute Force, and others, but I sold them all for that Game Rush thing I mentioned. Made a nice little "profit," because I got them for cheap from Microsoft. Having 5 games after 9 months is pretty good though. I had 5 PS2 games the first 10 months I owned the system (the first 5 games you see at the top, listed left to right).

And JC10001... Jesus, man! You too, Vargas.

Think of all the tsunami victims you greedy bastards could have saved instead of pissing away your money on all that shit....tsk tsk.

Actually I called the tsunami victims before the wave came (yes I'm psychic, but not enough to cash in on stock markets or lotteries) and they said it's cool.

Only have time for my PS2 crap at the moment. I'll edit with the rest (or some of it) later.

Yeah, I'm sure you've saved every penny you've earned just in case a huge earthquake hits so that you can donate it to the needy. And I don't care if you were joking. That's one shitty, tired, joke.

Sweet. I should put all my Zelda stuff together. It looks so cool.

the only thing that has significantly changed (other than a bunch of games for Xb/Ps2)

Bah, why couldn't Nintendo just put DS games in standard-size DVD cases? One more thing to look inconsistent on a shelf.

collection12.jpg

Where'd you get those badass Zelda figures?

Does my heart good to see so many SNESes (or would that be SNESi) amongst the pictures. My 'collection' is quite sad. Outside of PC games, I don't really hold on to games when I'm done with them, outside of the essentials. I'm either trading them with family/friends for other games, selling them, or giving them away. Still, I'll have to at least take a snap of my gaming setup when I get home - I'm dorkishly proud of it to a degree...

Yeah I know, I was just being sarcastic.
You sellout!

Jesus, man, do you just have money to burn? Is that every, single DS and PSP game?

Are you up for housing American refugees by any chance?
