It's a slow gaming year

Man. So that's probably just referring to the early months of 2006 (January-March)? Or do you think a year from now? Was there any explanation offered with it to confirm?

I believe it's a January-March thing. But no explanation, just the date

I took a glance over at my new Play magazine, and i guess i was mistaken to call this a "slow year."

It's more like a "sleeper year" if anything.

It may not be a slow year, but it is an odd year. Arguably, the GOTY was released in January. When's the last time that happened?

I also want to say how surprisingly FUN LEGO Star Wars was. Something that should have been absolute crap, but wasn't.

As for Subsistence, you ain't gonna believe this but the Konami JP website now has the US release listed for Winter 2006. I was stunned too.

hmmm, if true, i guess i'll be grabbing Guitar Hero after all. or maybe Dragon Quest VIII.

Well it was a good $20 game. Fun to play an episode a night.

Playing it alone is lame though, that's why I played through it with a friend. Tis' the only way to play it.

Also, this will be remembered as the year that Nintendo simultaneously looked like the best developer in the world on the handheld front

1) Minish Cap
2) Kirby Canvas Curse
3) Fire Emblem
4) Animal Crossing
5) Mario Kart
6) Nintendogs
7) Advance Wars DS
8) Mario and Luigi
9) Wario Ware Twisted!
10) Pokemon Emerald

while looking like a lackluster publisher on the console front

1) Geist
2) Starfox Assault
3) Mario Baseball
4) Donkey Konga 2
5) Mario Party 7
6) Pokemon XD
7) Batallion Wars

with Fire Emblem Cube and possibly Mario Strikers being the bright spots, along with the already awesome DK Jungle Beat

Buh?

Sorry, too many wars titles for one list. I corrected myself, but forgot to go back and change the title. Amended.

I have to disagree to some extent with these three:

SF:A wasn't that bad. It's just not what alot of people expected. Everyone, myself included, was expecting SF64 Part 2. Taken as it is, it really isn't that bad a game. But I still want SF64 Part 2 alot more.

Mario Baseball is awesome. Period.

Battalion Wars is a great game. The only downside is no multiplayer.

The rest I can't comment on as I haven't played them.

well he does have a point, other than re4 there aint much going on console wise. Zelda was supposed to change that but oh well

What ever happened to the idea kicking around during E3 about herding all Nintendo fanboys into their own forum? It's a winning idea!

I didn't say these were bad games.

The highest rated Nintendo game so far this year is DKJB, and that's because Nintendo actually bothered to develop it.
