I've only ever done one thing right

I feel like I've only ever done one thing right.. there's a girl who's trapped with me because she has nowhere else to go, ditto the dog we got, and due to one thing that happened or another we've ended up with each other for some 3 years, and she's not here tonight and the utilities are failing and I have to reflect on the best thing I ever did for her, or anyone.

this one time I set up a little christmas (she's big on christmas, and this was our first one) tree while she was at work and opened the door to this music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SYC58gO1cU and she loved it, and something from my past took on a whole new meaning. I feel like that's the best thing I've ever done.

Anyone else feel like they only got it really right only one time? It doesn't have to be sappy as per this story, but just a time when you did exactly what you wanted, and still think about it sometimes when things go astray?

too long didn't read: your hole in one's?

on a busy road (6 lanes i think) a truck ahead of us lost about 6 beach chairs and they blocked the lane on our left. luckily there was a red light. i got out of the car without saying anything to my friend driving, ran to get the chairs, and threw them all to the sidewalk and got back in the car just before the light changed

I was driving home, a couple of bikers were ahead of me riding in the opposite direction. Some asshole on a scooter passes them really close, one of them loses control, slams into the other girl, and they land on the car-lane. Given that it's just past a curve, the chances of cars seeing them in time is nigh zero, so I park my car behind them, turn on the warninglights, call 112 (the Dutch equivalent of 911) and help them where I can (put a blanket over them, make sure their heads are supported, make sure they stay awake, check for injuries).
Police arrived quite quickly, they parked their car in front of mine and one of the officers (still a rookie, judging by his single stripe on the uniform) starts shouting that my car was creating a dangerous situation. Before I could answer, the senior officer remarks sarcastically that leaving the girls on the road without anything abvious in front of them to warn oncoming drivers about the potential danger would indeed be much safer. He commended me for my quick actions.

Later, I got flowers and a card from the girls' parents via the police, saying they wanted to thank me for making sure nothing happened to them.

I gave the local homeless guy a dollar once and then I later saw the dude smoking crack.

But no, I've never done anything good in my entire life ever. At school, about 3 in the morning, I once saw two girls trying to carry a passed-out girl who was covered in puke to their dorm and I offered a ride to the hospital or to help carry the poor girl to their room, and one of the girls told me to "back the fuck off." Then they laid the passed-out girl down and stared at me as I walked back to my car.

If they hadn't told me to back the fuck off, that might have been the one thing I did right, maybe. Who knows. Never did see those girls again.

Hrmmm i twisted the heads off some baby birds cause i didnt wanna see them drown.

Am i good or bad?

Who put them in the water is the real question.

BTW, It's never too late to change.

The music tune made the OP <3

For those of you who don't think you've ever done anything good, it doesn't have to stay that way :/

I saved some cholo guy's kid that was in a runaway stroller when I was going to work one day. He was oblivious as he talked on his phone to whoever, and it was just rolling away across this parking lot. I went and got the stroller, brought it back, and was like, "hey holmes, I think this is yours", and he didn't know what happened. I explained and then went on my way. He came in the store later and thanked me and said his lady would've fucked him up if their baby got run over, and he became a regular customer after that.

There are some great stories in here. I don't really have a heart warming anecdote to shaer off the top of my head.

Personally I just try and do a little good every now and then, whenever I can.

Can you do that?

There was a little bird in our backyard once that seemed to be in pain, because he wasn't flying away, but my mom and I didn't think anything of it at first since we weren't staring out the window. But we put some food out for him, and then went on with whatever we were doing that day. But when we came back, he was dead :( It was probably one of the saddest things I've ever experienced, and I was crying really hard, but I picked a spot in my mom's garden kinda by some of my favorite flowers, and buried him there. And I still have a little gravemarker there. :( super sadface, but I felt like I did a good thing.

I once was in the car with my mom, and a truck next to us suddently starts driving crazy.
I was all like what the fuck, I was scared. Suddently that guy stops driving for some seconds then start driving like he was running away from police, very very fast. Thats because he hit a cat on the road. A very young one, the poor kitten had barely 1 year.
I tought the cat was dead. My mom helped me to pick up the cat and we went to a vet.
The cat had some problems at first, but recovered fast. I never ever saw that guy again, but that cat is now mine, and he always acted like I saved his life.
I dont know if this "life saved" behavior is true or is something that my mind made up, the only thing I know is that If I left that cat on the road and acted like nothing happened I would have felt shit for the rest of my life.
