Jack in the Box CEO: increase in same-store sales are due to offering better burgers

Black pepper burger >>>

Buttery jack is okay too, tho. Wish there were more locations around here, the only one near me is like a 20-30 minute drive, I stop there every time I'm in the area though.

Jack in the Box is my number one stop if I'm looking for a breakfast sandwich. If I'm in the mood for a burger though, I'd probably go to either In n Out or Whataburger first.

I like how Jack-in-the-Box isn't allowed to advertise their tacos as "beef tacos" since they are predominantly soy. So they just ran with it and just call them "tacos."

Yet they also can't call them vegetarian, because they are fried in lard.

I love Whataburger, but they do have some bad locations/times I've found. I really only get a burger from them if I'm truly itching for that Whataburger taste. The one nearest me always has very dry and sometimes cold burgers. Their chicken is always on point, though.

Jack in the box has 24 hours going for it, along with what seems like pretty consistent quality. Good for them. Tacos are still gross.

That pepper jack burger was pretty good but they got rid of it. I've never really been a fan of their burgers, I usually go for their tacos/breakfast or if I do get it a burger it's usually the sourdough jack or spicy chicken.

That's not how you spell "Burger King".

Hey now, I'd choose a Sourdough Jack over a lot of other stuff out there.

Get out of here, the regular one is great.

Their breakfast is still the best as far as fast food goes, there's a reason it's for 24 hrs.

What the hell is going on here? People LIKE Jack in the Box?

I'm just as shocked as when I found out people like Carl's Jr, AKA Hardees.

The value proposition of getting food at Carl's Jr is better than nearly every other place out there.

They opened a Carl's Jr down the street about a year ago. I was shocked that people were actually causing traffic because the drive through line was spilling out into the street. I think a huge part of it was because it was a "new" fast food chain for the region.

I tried it only once and literally threw up. Never had it again.

The same thing happened with Dunkin Donuts near me.

It eventually leveled out around here, but it must have taken about a year. How about with your Dunkin Donuts?

Personally, I can't stand Carl's Jr or Dunkin' Donuts. Give me Whataburger and Shipley's Donuts every time lol.

Not to mention when they were the real Hardees their breakfasts were great. Their steak and chicken biscuits were to die for. I know about a year ago when I was working near a Carl Jrs they had actually brought back the steak biscuits. The steak was vastly thinner and cheaper tasting then when Hardees had them.

The South is the former Confederacy, lets not dance around the issue.

As someone who lives in Texas, Texas is less culturally similar to the Deep South and more its own thing. What I'm trying to say is that Texas isn't as Southern as it is Texan. Texas is Texas.

But back on topic, yeah Jack in the Box has gotten noticeably better recently. I stopped getting food from there in the mid 2000's because their burgers were consistently burnt and salty as fuck, but I tried it again this year and was pleased to find that they have higher standards now.

Whataburger is still better though.

Texas is Texas and is big and distinct enough to be its own country, let alone a region. Same with California.

I'm from Mississippi and I'd rather you not lump me in with Texas. Texas ain't the Deep South, they can keep their cowboys, tex mex , and overrated barbecues to themselves.

Yeah, and you can keep... whatever Mississippi has going for it

Most people think of Texas for its barbecue/Mexican, but brother, Texas is a hell of a burger state. Whataburger's just the tip of the iceberg.

That said, I like JitB munchie meals. Cheap and greasy, perfect for after hitting a bar on the weekend. And the Jalapenos are awesome.

It went from a line of cars almost out to the street to absolutely no business.

It seemingly happened in only a couple of weeks.

I found the buttery jack to be almost unbearable to eat after the first half. Its good at first but the garlic butter is just overwhelming after a point.

the siracha burger on a regular bun is great though.

In fact, I think I'll go grab some what-a-burger right now

Speaking of whataburger how's their new sweet and spicy bacon burger?

DFW gaf here

On topic - jack in the box is okay, their burgers are pretty average but their curly fries are god tier

every time i see a commercial for those buttery jacks I can't decide whether they look good or absolutely disgusting. it's like I can't process them mentally.
Here I'll clear up the confusion for you: They're ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING.

In fact, I'd rate Jack in the Box as the lowest of the low in terms of fast food.

Sir, you lie. The buttery jacks are fucking awesome, just messy. As a matter of fact, most of Jack in the Box's burgers are tasty.

They need to bring the cinnamon milkshake back.

Oh my fucking god YES! I had forgotten about that. That was so damn GOOD! I also would like them to add a banana shake. I want a fresh banana shake, dammit!

They are fucking AMAZING

And Burger King awful?
Jack in the box terrible also?

None of you guys in here can fast food.

Whoppers are incredible.

One of the highlights to visiting my mom in Tallahassee is hitting up Whataburger. That place is no joke. It's far from the best burger you can get but in terms of real fast food it is pretty god tier.
