Jak III worth it for $14?

I've had Jak 3 for a few weeks now and my advice would be to save your money. While the game does have an acceptable amount of polish, it just doesn't hold my attention for very long due to the lame missions and clunky pacing. Strangely enough the best part is driving between missions on the dunebuggy. Save the money.

Jak3 is well worth that money. Awesome series. Don't listen to the hate.

It would make more sense to have played them in order though. But oh well.

Clunky pacing? Jak 3 basically cut out the majority of the traveling that went on in the originals. It's basically nonstop from beginning to end because of it, and shorter than the others.

Taken as a whole I actually found the Jak series more fulfilling than R&C. By the third game R&C was really feeling stale for me and I couldn't even bring myself to finish the game. At least Jak actually has a somewhat interesting story to pull you through, and some of the boss battles in the last two Jak games are pretty damn cool.

:lol Jak is my guilty little pleasure ---- Crappy angsty middle-school girly character designs?
*check*

I've purchased every game from the R&C franchise.. but never make it but 3 hours in .... I just don't go in for the "HERE'S 40 WEAPONS! PLEASE LIKE OUR GAME!!"

Jak III is well worth $14 for the polish and animation alone - screw tha haters, if you're lookin for a fun game $14 will get you a lot here.

Yes, definitely. It looks great visually, and it has some really stand out missions. If you can ignore the stupid story, and the fact that it's not a traditional action platformer experience, it can be fun. For $14 you really can't lose, even if you buy into AniHawk Brand JAK HATE(tm).

For a platformer, it has one of the better narratives around. It ain't Shakespeare, but it certainly has it's own nice charms. The 'reveal' was also, in my opinion, brilliantly handled, and considering how much anticipation there was towards it, I was surprised they pulled it off so well, and still managed to defy my expectations.

jak 3 isnt a bad game. $15 CDN seems pretty cheap, id say check it out

if ratchet 3 is the same price, i'd rather get that game though. ratchet rox

Holy shit yes, Doom. Ratchet: Up Your Arsenal is, no hyperbole, a classic. It seriously has refined so many elements of the action platformer, pretty unrivaled in that category. It has a few niggling flaws - still an odd emphasis on mini-diversions - but it is so good. Seriously, BUY IT :)

Yeah, if you haven't played any other R&C games, Up Your Arsenal is definately worthy - as I said though, after playing the first two games, the third didn't introduce enough new stuff for me to end up finishing it - just started to grate for me.
