You won't see any of these guys making it to the big league. I don't even think TNA have picked up any CZW wrestler that did Ultra Violent matches.

For those guys 'the big league' is Big Japan, I'm pretty sure most have no delusions about working for WWE one day. Maybe if WWE ever abandoned PG and decided they needed blood and hardcore again, some of the CZW guys might be in with a chance. Masada maybe.

I don't think it would happen. How many Hardcore legends/wrestlers made it to WWF? I can only name a few that were allowed to keep their hardcore gimmick.

Terry Funk
Foley
Al Snow
Raven
The Dudley's (RIP Big Dick)

Steven Richards really wasn't a hardcore wrestler, nor was Lance Storm, Justin Credible and Mike Awesome. I can't forget about Perry Saturn.

We can agree to disagree but many of the ECW wrestler that came over were not hardcore wrestlers or were jobbers. Look at Mike Awesome.

I'd have zero interest in watching those types of matches. I'm okay with hardcore matches with chair shots, stop signs, cookie sheets, etc. or the TLC matches with the Dudleyz, Hardyz and E&C... but not shit like that.

EDIT: Chauncy, wasn't Sabu in the WWE briefly as well?

01. TAKA Michinoku & Taichi vs Danshoku Dino & Maximo

02. YOSHI-HASHI & OKUMURA vs Tama Tonga & King Fale

03. Prince Devitt, Ryusuke Taguchi & Tiger Mask vs Jado, Gedo & Misterioso Jr.

04. Hirooki Goto & KUSHIDA vs Mascara Dorada & Rush

05. Tetsuya Naito, Jushin Liger & Diamante vs Shinsuke Nakamura, Yujiro Takahashi & Mephisto

06. Hiroshi Tanahashi & La Sombra vs Kazuchika Okada & Volador Jr.

First night of the annual NJPW/CMLL Fansastica Mania super-show. Some great tag-team action on this show - check out the the 3rd match which sees Apollo 55 & Tiger Mask take on The Complete Players & Misterioso Jr, match no. 5 as Naito, Liger & Diamante face off with Nakamura, Takahashi & Mephisto, plus the main event which sees Tanahashi & La Sombra go up against Kazuchika Okada & Volador Jr.

Strange to think that a few months ago Okada was doing shit all working at TNA, and now he's main eventing New Japan shows. TNA truly are utterly worthless and NJPW would have been better served sending Okada ANYWHERE BUT TNA. What a joke, especially when you consider what his extended stay in PWG did for Akira Tozawa.

YAY! Thank you Bootaaay!

Multiple times. He was in WCW also. Did a few matches. He wrestled three matches on Monday Night Nitro and a PPV before being can.

Sabu vs Alex Wright (Sabu wins the match but the decision was reverse because Alex Wright went through a table.)

Sabu vs Disco Inferno (Sabu wins cleanly. Sabu tries to put Disco through a table. Went to jump on table and Disco moves.)

Sabu vs Mr. JL (Jerry Lynn) (Jerry Lynn wins the match that set up the PPV)

PPV
Sabu w/Original Sheik vs Mr. JL (Sabu win by pin with Sheik throwing the flame in JL face.)

I really wish Sandman stayed with the WWE. He looked fantastic. I never seen him that fit in his life.

Bring these three guys up from FCW asap.

Heh, I was just about to post that. Apparently Cesaro wrestled in FCW's first ever No Rope match last night.

I wasn't suggesting it was ever likely to happen - only that if WWE suddenly decided they needed ultra-violence would any of the CZW guys be in with a chance, which would never happen. But you're right in that they didn't really need hardcore wrestlers from ECW back in the day, because WWE's idea of hardcore was garbage cans and kendo sticks, not New Jack jumping off shit, Sandman busting his head open with beer cans, Ian & Axl Rotten stapling dollar bills to each other, Tai Pei death-matches, etc.

How I miss New Jack's guitars filled up with baby powder. New Jack, Ian & Axel Rotten and Big Dick Dudley were entertaining. It's funny how ECW started to drift away from the hardcore wrestling when they landed the deal with TNN.

Warzone came out July/August 98. WTF, they were WAY past late with those HHH promos. He dropped that gimmick like a year earlier.

And it's funny how I knew Warzone sucked despite not having any kind of real standards for games back then. So bad.

I loved Warzone, even with the terrible combo system.

Also, Bret Hart was in the game FFS :lol

Why I hate wrestling games sometimes. Developers are a year late with gimmicks when they release the games. They could had done something better for Triple H. How I love Acclaim games.

I believe War Zone was supposed to be released at the end of 1997, but it was then delayed until summer 1998. They probably brought in all of those wrestlers for those video promos in the summer of '97, and for some reason, couldn't bring them back to re-shoot the promos for those who had gimmick changes (HHH).

It also partly explains why Bret Hart and British Bulldog were still in the game as well.

I don't know what was worst, Warzone/Attitude sucking as much ass as they did, or Acclaim completely reusing the same exact game with an ECW coat of paint, for 2 more crappy games.

I had a friend that was a total mark for those games cause they had a barbwire ropes match. Smh.

Warzone was awesome, loved the arcadey feel.

BUH?! I forgot about you Warzone defenders in here. Game was terribad, sorry. Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game was the far superior arcade style game, and WCW vs. NWO World Tour was out a year earlier and was way better at sim style. Warzone was Jank Fest '98.

Makes sense. I must have forgot Warzone being delayed.

I was so hyped for buying Attitude in September. Then my best friend buying Wrestlemania 2000 in October. I was so pissed because the time frame of the two games.

but I liked all of those :(

BIG Pro Wrestling NOAH spoilers;

Firstly, Jun Akiyama & Akitoshi Saito recaptured the GHC Tag Team Titles from New Japan's Bad Intentions (Giant Bernard & Karl Anderson) when Saito pinned Anderson after hitting his Death Brand vertical suplex lift piledriver (the move that fatally injured Misawa). Secondly, Takeshi Morishima defeated Go Shiozaki with a Backdrop Driver after 22 minutes of action to become the new GHC World Heavyweight Champion!

Great news for
Morishima
, I hope they do a better job of getting him over than they did with his last run.

Check out the opening tag match, plus Suwama vs Manabu Soya for a great heavyweight singles bout, and the main event which features two of AJPW's best juniors as Seiya Sanada takes on KAI.

WHERE ARE THE UPPERCUTS?!?! ;_;

He's still using them occasionally, the commentators refer to his European as "that trademark uppercut" and he hit the pop-up uppercut once, but in that match with Xavier he was largely on the back foot for much of the match, plus, he was debuting his new submission.

God, I hope this happens. Bryan's been stuck in matches with big goons for too many weeks now, would be good to see him wrestle someone normal sized again where he can get in a good amount of offence.

LMAO

I'm a huge Regal fan. I loved his work when he first came to the states. I really wish he would had won the World Title.

Maybe D.Brine could put the title on the line in a dance off.

I can't wait until the WWE overplays this by making an entire PPV of no-ropes matches.

And then in the main event rey mysterio hooks up the ropes again just so he can pull off the 619.

Their match on Superstars was fantastic. It was the highlight of the Raw and Smackdown tapings in Liverpool.

So this is what Regal was talking about. Let it happen E', let it happen.

I wonder if they could do this for Mania.

I mean it's not like the WHC match is going to bring in anyone that aren't already getting the event for the Rock or just generally because it's Mania

Not much of a surprise, but Johnny Gargano won't be at the DGUSA iPPV next week in LA, due to the injuries sustained during his match with Ricochet at EVOLVE 10 - however, as a replacement DGUSA have added Low Ki to the line-up! The revised match listing will be released tomorrow.

Thank goodness he's alright. Somewhere deep down, I know that Cole is going to be mentioning this.

Student vs. Master story at WM would be fantastic.
