The Canes actually won a game

It is great reading all the threads on here with a lack of sleep. I basically want to go into them all, and shout at people. I had stuff wrote for the Europe one and the Burger one, but then re-read it, and what it was was basically 200 words of nothing that made sense.

You are the only place that makes sense WrassleHAF

I'm digging this Full of himself Daniel Bryan. It's not exactly cowardly but very slimy as far as taking advantage of the situation. Looking forward to next week's smackdown.

Also we need more Mark Henry on commentary

My only beef with it is that it seems like a reflex move. Oh shit he isn't OVER enough so lets make him that snakish heel, which is the go-to one. But hey if it works I wont complain.

As much as I like Daniel Bryan as a face, I find him to be entertaining as a heel. Kinda makes me wish that he kept his heel angle going back when the Nexus first arrived. Damn that necktie incident. :(

The entire Nexus angle is the most wasted opportunity I've seen in ages. Possibly ever. I can't remember the last time a bunch of no named ring rats(speaking status here) instantly became relevant on air, and live at that. It was an interesting angle, an interesting story, with interesting characters...and they took out a guy seemingly invincible to everyone(including tag teams) but Taker. There was history to be created before us, stars to build, and money to be made.

Then next week happened...

Never Forget

I think Heath Slater needs to be let go. His in-ring abilities are boring, and even though he displays charisma, it comes off as being corny.

Michael Tarver with his ninja mask on was badass.

The tag team division is in desperate need of more tag teams. While I would've liked matching tag teams with themes, if they're going to go with the "putting two different wrestlers together as a tag team" route, then I'd love to see Cody Rhodes/Golddust and Sheamus/Drew Mcintyre as tag teams. The latter would be cool because they would have a theme of having similar ethnic backgrounds, being Irish and Scottish, respectively.

I think McIntyre/Barrett would be a better combo - especially after all that United Kingdom stuff in WWE 12.

Also if they are just going to keep punishing Bourne why not pair Kofi with Justin Gabriel instead.

Ima buy you a beer.

Where you at?

I was going through old ROH dvds today. Rewatched Punk vs Shelley.

MAN, I miss what ROH used to be. Not even talking about the great Alex Shelley storyline of everyone hating him, but the fact that the whole match is Punk working Shelley's left arm and Shelley working Punk's gut. To the point that Punk even irish whips him by the bad arm, Shelly reverses it and then sells the arm.

4:00 am here's pst. Going to bed finally. GF won't be over tomorrow night, so I can settle in and watch the SCSA Blu ray finally. Any awesome matches on the Blu ray I should watch?

Figure Four Daily - January 6th

Figure Four Daily with Bryan Alvarez and Lance Storm returns today to talk tons of subjects including the return of Chris Jericho and his jacket, tons of thoughts on Impact the last few weeks including Eric Young and the Nese vs. Ion series, logic in wrestling, how to get prepared for wrestling school, Jeremy Buck and his chairshot comments (quite the rant) and more.

Warrior just destroyed that gimp fuck Kevin Nash
I hate quad as much as the next guy, but quad basically made the challenge, and was going to settle it in front of the entire world.

Warrior talked shit about quad without provocation, got called out on it, and is copping pleas.

So... not to bring up a dead discussion, but I haven't watched wrestling in a while, just watched the Jericho thing and... what the HELL was that? If he's returning as a heel, it's fuckin' GLORIOUS, but that crowd must have been as pissed as I can imagine.

OK, when the jacket arms lit up, I lost it.

(Granted, I have a problem with the way WWE refuses to let old superstars go away instead of actually doing well with the young talent that they have, but since Jericho is just so wonderful, I guess I give this a slight pass.)

(Also, since I haven't watched in a while - is WWE still like a show for 10-year-old boys, or have they started letting people get away with edgy shit again?)

They're getting ever so slightly edgier...CM Punk said 'bitch' on RAW the other day, for instance. But it's still a largely PG, Mattel friendly product.

Also, I agree that WWE should focus more on the young talent, but there is a place for the old stars in today's product and I think the real problem lies in that they haven't done enough to have the old talent put the new stars over. I mean, look at The Rock - he was such a huge star, but in the end who did he put over on his way out? Stone Cold & Goldberg? Wow.

It's entirely Jericho's choice to both go away and come back, here. WWE doesn't really have much to do with it

The way Punk delivered that kind of made me cringe. I guess to keep it from being too edgy, he had to preface "bitch" by saying the part about animal cruelty so he could tie the word into its non-cursing use and make it not as bad or whatever. I imagine he had to go to Vince or WWE Creative to get it approved, and they told him, "Yeah, you can say bitch, but you've gotta relate it to a female dog somehow."

The Rock didn't put over Stone Cold on his way out, Stone Cold lost their (and his) last match, at WM19.

Right you are, I had them mixed up. It was Stone Cold who put over that young go-getter Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

Either way, on their way out neither The Rock or Stone Cold were used to put over young stars who should have gone on to form the backbone of the company for years to come. In fact, WWE rarely uses established stars to put over young talent, even when they're leaving. With a bit of creative thought, they could have used Batista's departure to put over someone new, instead of putting over Cena. In fact, I can't readily recall a major WWE departure that has put over deserving talent on their way out in recent years, other than Jeff Hardy.
