I just watched some weird WWWF/NJPW/Don King cross promotional event from 1976 - the main event is Antonio Inoki vs Muhammad Ali (15 rounds of UTTER NONSENSE, as Inoki spends pretty much the entire time lying on his back trying to kick out Ali's legs, presumably because he didn't want to stand up and get knocked the fuck out), but the opener is really interesting, Andre the Giant vs Chuck Wepner (the guy who was the inspiration for Rocky Balboa) with Vince on commentary and Monsoon in Andre's corner. They start off and Andre's size is just too much for Wepner, as Andre easily swats away his punches, locks in his arms and just manhandles him about the ring. Andre keeps trying to go for a belly to belly, but Wepner uses the ropes to stay on his feet. Come the second round Wepner tries to dance away from Andre, but to no avail as Andre runs him into the ropes and hits a big knee to the mid-section that lifts the dude right of his feet. Round 3 and Wepner manages to get some offence in as Andre tries a single leg takedown but Wepner backs into the ropes and just beats on the back of Andre's head, which pisses off the Giant who gets up and headbutts Wepner loopy, picking him up like a rag doll and military pressing him out of the ring and to the floor. Some Don King associate looks super pissed off and tries to get Wepner back on his feet, but Gorilla Monsoon starts shoving him about. Meanwhile, Andre is declared the victor. More Don King guys start harassing Andre and then Wepner gets back in and sucker punches Andre with a big right which has no effect on the Giant whatsoever. Really strange match, but unlike the Inoki/Ali nonsense both Wepner & Andre gave you the belief that it just might have been real, even if the whole thing was a complete work.
