I watched Sting vs DDP from 1999 the other day. I didn't know there was anything that good in WCW in 1999. Fantastic match! Too bad they gave it away on a Nitro.
Which one? They had a few matches in 1999 on Nitro. One early in the year was really good, and their one Sting won the title from DDP was good. The rest were short and uneventful.

Would be very suspect seeing how the WWE hasn't been releasing anyone of late unless they request it or violate wellness.
On the bright side if this IS true it probably means Linda isn't going to hit the campaign trail again.

Both PTPs suck, but I don't see how they can justify releasing Darren while still employing somebody like JTG. I think they seriously forgot that he's still under their pay-roll.
Not to mention he's a perfect face for media appearances and their Be A Star campaign

I have no issue with letting Darren go, always felt he was the weaker link in PTP, and they haven't done anything really worthwhile with him anyway. Yes, he's a good spokesperson for BA Star, but that doesn't change the fact that he just doesn't stand out in the ring, especially next to Titus. (And no, I'm not saying that just because he called my hometown of Austin by the name of my birthplace, Houston!)
Just finished listening to the Bryan and Vinnie show (Figure Four Wrestling), apparently they just got word that Punk vs. Triple H may have been canceled in favor of Bryan vs. Triple H. Oh, and a wrestler wrote in with this hilarious letter, hopefully someone posts a transcript of it, but basically he burys the smarks for the Daniel Bryan stuff at Rumble because of the leaked matches not mentioning him at all. All we know is that the letter was not from Batista (though the verbage had everyone guessing it was).
EDIT: Wrote that before learning about Punk, maybe this is why? Either that or the change is due to the smile loss. We'll have to wait and see.

Punk is a bitch if he's quitting because Bryan took his Mania match or whatever.
Rock was probably the worst person to deliver that promo considering he left and only came back to promote a movie, drop the title, and leave for a decade. Taker, HHH, or Vince himself should have delivered that promo.
I'd be rather chapped as well if I wasn't on the show after the Rumble with a clear storyline ready to go against the super fit Korporate Kane at Elimination Chamber.
It seems he was written out of the show during the day and then said "SEEYA!" after he wasn't going to be on.

Punk leaving is what's best for him so I'm not sad. Dude needs a long break from wrestling. They brought him back too early last year when he got his much needed break, and then worked him just as hard right away. He needs 6 months to a year off to recharge and figure out if he actually wants to wrestle again. He sure hasn't seemed like he's given even half a shit since Summerslam. Kind of understandable with the Ryback/Axel shit and general meandering he's been given since then, but still. It's been a bummer seeing him come out and not give a shit at all. He should have pitched a heel turn run against Bryan before he left, though.

And it doesn't even need to be D.Brine as champ, either.
He could win the Chamber match and some abeyance technicality BS could be thrown at him again - all leading to D.Brine facing down the Authority directly for the gold at Mania.
You know, I'm usually upset when guys like Punk leave the company, because I'm a fan, but it's really obvious there is nothing for him to do anymore. Where else can you go after that kind of WWE Championship run? He needs to take a break and come back in a year or two fresh if he wants to.
