Let's get the new year started off right!

Can Cena overcome the odds and be healthy in time for the Royal Rumble and then win it? Will Miz still be champion by the pay-per-view? Will the WWE wish Ted well on his future endeavors?

Ladies and gentlemen, your new leader of Nexus!

Let's hope this feud actually goes somewhere this time.

And, a WWE farewell to Kaval.

But at least we still have McGenesis!

Speaking of Genesis, TNA stuff!

TNA WRESTLING "GENESIS" - LIVE ON PAY-PER-VIEW ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 9 FROM UNIVERSAL ORLANDO

On Sunday, January 9, TNA Wrestling presents "Genesis" live on Pay-Per-View from Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, featuring Jeff Hardy and Immortal, Ric Flair and Fortune, Rob Van Dam, Matt Morgan, Mr. Anderson and more! TNA's PPV events air on Time Warner Cable, Comcast, Charter Cable, Cablevision, AT&T U-Verse, Verizon FIOS, DIRECTV, Dish Network, Viewer's Choice and more.

Should be a good month of wrestling. Here's hoping John Cena doesn't win the Rumble!

Don't worry they have to fire Zack Ryder before Ted so Ted will still have a job for awhile:lol The TNA ppv actually has a really good line up wrestling wise. Also this should be the month Matt Hardy shows up in TNA. Hardys vs MCMG, Hardys vs Gen Me, and Hardys vs Beer Money could all be great matches. Of course this is if Hardy stays out of prison, which if he accepted a plea bargain most likely the sentence will be probation and community service and no jail time.

I'll take anyone over Cena winning the Rumble.Even HHH or Rey Rey.

but Cena has to overcome the odds, that dastardly Nexus will have 7 members in the Rumble and their sole aim will be to take out John Cena, will they succeeed or will he overcome the odds like he does every week?:lol

Low Ki returns to the indies this month with matches against Amazing Red in ICW and Davey Richards in PWS - hopefully he appears in EVOLVE, PWG or ROH soon. Would be epic to see him return to ROH at the iPPV in Chicago next month.

Not sure if he will be in EVOLVE, Gabe still not wan to work with him?

Oh yeah, I forgot all about that - it was over Ki refusing to work some ROH dates he'd already verbally agreed to, wasn't it?

Still, I don't know if Gabe can afford to be picky, what with losing out on Davey Richards due to the animosity between Gabe & ROH, and losing out on TJP due to not wanting to pay the amount they'd already agreed upon, plus doing the ground work to find up-and-coming talent like Kyle O'Reilly & Adam Cole, only to have ROH sign them up to a contract. Low Ki appearing in EVOLVE would be a big deal for the company going into the new year, and the EVOLVE style fits him perfectly.

Wait-Miz is WWE Champion now? I haven't watched wrestling in over a year. Doesn't that make him a Grand Slam champion now? That's awesome. Most successful reality contestant ever. :lol

I don't think he ever won the IC belt, but he was a Triple Crown champion just in 2010 alone.

And...somehow...Cener wins Superstar of the Year the year that he utterly fails to destroy Nexus, loses his WWE Championship, has to join Nexus AND gets fired.

Sad thing is that even if he doesn't win the Rumble, he will still be in the main event at Mania somehow.

Eh, not so sure about that. WWE is pushing him on a side-story right now. I really doubt Nexus v. Cena would headline Wrestlemania this year. But that's all dependent on whether Undertaker comes back or not. If he's ready by 'Mania, whomever he feuds with will main event.

I'm going to call Bryan winning the rumble and Bryan/Miz as 'Mania's main event. One of these days, one of my crazy predictions will come true.

Pretty obvious the Rumble winner will either be Cena, Orton, or HHH. It would be nice if they used it to promote someone new to main event status.

I thought it might by Triple H, but unless Sheamus has the belt come 'Mania, it won't be him. Orton is a closer choice, but only as long as Miz has the belt I would think. I doubt it'll be Cena since he's in this Nexus thing, which will have to have its final blow off match at 'Mania.

It would be nice if they didn't have someone who's already won it win it. Also, if the winner didn't come from the final three entrants.

I don't know, it seems like they might be pushing Kofi into a high profile feud, we shall see.

It will become clearer once they have their title matches this week.

I can see Kofi maybe winning MitB at Wrestlemania, and that facilitating his push. I kinda want to see him feud with Swagger in a few more 1 on 1s, mainly because they're damned entertaining and helps make both guys look good.

I think someone mentioned this in last month's thread, but what if Christian came back, won the Rumble, and then fought Edge at Mania for the belt? That would be all kinds of awesome, and I think Christian should be back by then, right?

I posted this in the old thread, but Smackdown was awesome last night. I mean if you ignore the forced WWE humor in their holiday parties.

I mean it was nice to see them focus on the IC title, and I think just that one night elevated the belt and the 3 stars. They all look like main eventer performers. And I kind of wish they could keep the feud going until Mania.

I hope that at some point this year, this is a PPV main event for a world title.

You don't need to win the IC belt to become a grand slam champion anymore, just a secondary title, and he won the US belt. Needless to say, it's pretty easy to become a grand slam champion these days, compared to the old.

It's probably too much to dream of Undertaker vs Miz: Streak vs Title at Wrestlemania with the Miz winning, isn't it?

The taste of PG fans tears would be delicious.
As much as I despise Taker for rarely putting people over, similar to Rey, I respect the streak and hope the WWE has the common sense to let him go out with it. With so many different ways for guys to get hot shot to to the top with three Money in the Bank matches a year and the Rumble, I think the streak should be kept. If WWE wants to use to elevate someone, make sure that person actually knows how to work a match in the ring, unlike Miz.

According to Melina, apparently John Morrison dumped her on New Year's day. What a douche. She seems like a genuinely nice woman.

Punk will win the rumble with the help at Nexus, Cena will win Miz's title at No Way Out (if that PPV still exists...) then there will finally be an end to the Nexus feud at Mania.

That is what I hope happens.

God, do I hope it happens <3

I'm sure Reso and Copeland would LOVE the idea, too. I mean, who wouldn't love to headline wrestlemania with their best friend? And they would put on one hell of a show.

For the love of god, please no more 1 on 7 overcoming the odds.

Cena needs some steady back-up. How about a Wade Barrett face turn as the jilted leader of Nexus. He doesn't have to like Cena but they can at least work together right. Oh wait.. this sounds too much like Randy Orton. Shit.. WTF is in the cards for Wade Barrett now?

Why does fantasy booking done on the internet always seem to involve Christian doing something he will never do and it usually also involves Edge?

creative doesn't have any idea. He's still working house shows, usually in the main event matches, but nothing seems to be planned for TV.

Nostalgia, that and the faint belief that Christian will ever get a main event push.

Personally, that idea would actually get me interested in Edge again - he's been entirely lacklustre since his return.

Because Christian has been consistently one of the most over guys in WWE (and one of the best performers in the ring) whenever he has been active within the organization over the last 6 or 7 years, and, because of his past history with Edge, a feud with Edge is a natural choice for a main event feud involving Christian?

Derp derp.

how someone you probably don't know is a nice person, and how someone would be a douche for breaking up with her.

She always seems to carry herself in her youtube videos and on her twitter very well. It is always a douchey thing to do to break up with someone on a holiday, not matter who it is. Wade Barrett could end up on Smackdown.

You mean she comes across nice on HER youtube videos and HER twitter? Whoduthunk? And a break up is a break up you don't know the specifics of why it happened how it did.

They've had matches and feuds. They don't draw.

I like Christian, but he doesn't have an exciting moveset or good promo range to pull off a main event feud. We were all bored of him when he was on top of TNA.

It looks like the Melina stuff was a hacker at least thats what seems to be the case as for what was said on twitter though not confirmed.

Also it is confirmed Awesome Kong did sign with WWE. She confirmed it on Twitter

So the natural choice for your main event of the biggest show of the year is a guy who has never been able to be a main event draw? Like Liu Kang said, I like Christian. He is talented in the ring and on the mic but he is never going to have a good main event run. Also has he really been "consistently one of the most over guys in WWE whenever he has been active within the organization over the last 6 or 7 years"? There are a lot of guys who are more over than him.
I really do like Christian, but some people act like hes the best guy on the roster.

Forgot to mention, Justice Pain (Nick Gage's brother) mentioned on his facebook that Nick Gage turned himself in to the police last night - thankfully that situation didn't end up a whole lot worse.

The CZW roster has been on a roll past year or so; 2 wrestlers arrested for robbing banks, 1 wrestler dead from an overdose, 1 wrestler dead from a brain haemorrhage due to multiple wrestling-related concussions and 1 rookie wrestler dead after being knocked unconscious at a CZW training seminar.

Sounds like Randy Orton. Boring, monotone character and a moveset consisting of headlocks, punches, an inverted headlock backbreaker, and with his stunning innovation, the Olympic Slam.

Christian's a fantastic worker. He can work a promo and feud much better than many guys in the main event scene. He can make matches deem credible out of Zack Ryder, Tommy Dreamer, and Ezekial Jackson. How many other guys can do that? If they went along with an Edge vs. Christian main event feud, it will draw, because people know their history.

DKehoe, who do you put in the main event scene for Smackdown at 'Mania? You can push this "Christian isn't a draw!" standard all day, but if Edge is champion, who would you want as his opponent? If you're going by draw, put in Rey, but that would be a colossal waste. I would prefer Christian, Ziggler, or Del Rio; however I welcome Del Rio finishing off his feud with Rey in a victory at WM (I know, lol).

WWE's gonna throw you all for a loop and have a smackdown wrestler win the rumble:lol

please be Christian, setting up an Edge-Christian main event

I want that Christian-Cena feud that seems like it was canned because Christian was getting over. I'm still pissed that they spent 6 months teasing and setting up that feud only to replace Christian with Jericho at the last minute.

Christians tendancy to have jokey promo style can make him seem goofy as a heel or that he doesn't take things seriously as a face. Neither works well at the main event level. Ortons character on the other hand is intense and is positioned as being dangerous. I don't think Orton is amazing or anything like that but I do think he belongs as a main event guy.

I don't think Edge works that well as a face and they shouldn't have the title on him for Mania. I think Del Rio vs Rey at Wrestlemania could work really well if built right. Something like a hair vs mask match would add to it except I think Del Rio should win (giving him that final push into being one of the absolute top guys) and unmasking Rey is a bad idea. Just looking at the smackdown roster, wow its pretty barren.
