even though it's a daily, it's amazing to see brain training at the top after all this time!

in miyamoto's interview with g4 he said Yawaraka Atamajuku included exercises that were entry requirements for japanese elementary schools, so this could be popular for a long time.

both these non-games are cheap and appeal to everyone, so their success is easy to understand, but still surprising [in a good way].

Can somebody translate the Japanese?
5. Futakoi Shima
12. Taito Memories pt.2
18. Ramune
20. Winning Post 7 Premium Box

Nice to see both of Konami's new DS titles in the top 10, though the sales can't have been that high, I guess. Maybe 7k for Survival Kids and 10k for Castlevania, at a push. Not so good for Twelve, Lunar and BoF3...

Even worse for DS Kyouryuu Grand Prix (was that the Dinosaur Racing game?) and Puzzle Bobble DS. But how many times can they release Puzzle Bobble?

Obviously Tales and Gundam will dominate the sales this week. Winning Post 5 debuted around 17K and Winning Post 6 debuted at 33K. So it's hard to say exactly how well this and Castlevania will do. They could realistcally debut anywhere between 10-50K. I'm guessing 30K each, which isn't great, but at least it's better than the 10K debuts of Famicom Wars and Goemon.

Whoa...why did Chihuahua just jump that much?

Chihuahua was the copy selling the least so maybe people who did not buy it then are now going for it. I also read there was a Chihuahua craze in Japan where people kidnap the dogs and resell them for $6,000 o_O

Why not go to the source? Every Japanese person must go to Mexico to get a Chihuahua now!

dam... JSS is falling to fast...
Not really. It went from 2nd to 11th because a very large number of new titles were released that day.

JSS, Naruto, and Winning Eleven will all be up again in a couple of days, probably.

Somebody stop traditional games on the DS from continuing to sell so poorly!

How is Jump Super Stars not a traditional game? Or Mario & Warioware for that matter?

Should I add the words "non-Nintendo" then? :)

No, because Advance Wars sold crappy too. This kind of sucks too because, while I am a little bit disappointed that games like Quendan didn't sell well at all, I'm even more disappointed that awesome games like Advance Wars, Full Metal Alchemist, and Castlevania get overlooked too! Why can't the Japanese fall prey to franchise gaming like North America? :lol However, I do believe that Jump Super Stars has the drawing power to bring some more traditional gamers over to the DS side.

DS games have longevity. You may think they bomb initially, but they can actually racket up some sales after a few months on the market.

Ouendan is at 30k, but it only sold a third of that the entire time it was in the top 20.

how many copies does a low profile game like Ouendan have to sell to make profit?
(btw, my copy is on the way :D)
